This turns even the toughest parent into a marshmallow. This is the ONE thing I hated about having a baby. Luckily mine is almost 5 now. What a sweetpea!
I think the spray that the nurse applied numbs the skin...making the injection less painful. It would be a really good thing if all doctors had anaesthetic patches or spray available for use with babies, children, and very anxious adults.
P.S. Kuddos for this video. I really appreciate how lovingly you comforted your baby right away! I'm also surprised he did not cry for the first couple of shots. :-)
I thought the same thing, I will remember her technique when I next give an infant a shot. Wonderfully done and the baby did amazing. I've only had a couple babies take an injection so peacefully. :)
that nice they have the spray anestetic...my daughter is 11 and scream her brains out at every shot when she was young, wish they had that then. i used to cry right along with her....i felt so bad for her pain but it was the right thing to do.
@blockoutalltherest I used to be scared of getting shots so much that the doctors numbed my arm. Recently when I had to have my 3rd Gardasil shot, I was so brave enough to handle the shots without any numbing :)
I am surprised that Amelia did not even flinch the first time, but I kind of feel bad that she cried the second time. That would make me feel terrible.
I wish they had used numming gel or spray for Lilike as a newborn, the held ehr down and tried to get a needle stick into her veins for her 4th day of antibiotics, but she screamed red faced and thrashed aboutm even a 1 year old size dummy pusehd into her mouth did not calm her and then they wanted to do a scalp iv over thigh injections they said the thigh injections hurt and it would be easier for her to find a scalp vein, came back for the shaven hair and they had done thigh injections?.
I remember my first shot I didn't enjoy my shots there was some that i couldn't take because of my Allergies. I am so proud of your baby I hope you can take some more from her other appointments. I hope you are doing well. Quadracer687..
Ahh that was unexpected I thought she was going to scream on the first shot but she didn't then I was watching the 2nd one and I thought it would be the same as the 1st but she cried uncalled for oww ears hurt! Cute baby GO BABY AMELIA see you when your 4 months
Why do people think that vaccinations are cruel? They protect our children from harmful diseases. If they didnt have them, things could be so much worse.
Yes, because alot of people don't know what actually is IN vaccines, and yes, Doctors are liars. There is actually NO LAW saying you have get immunized and if Parents actually read what is in these things, the mental supressents and the OTHER crap they put in, they wouldn't do it
@antivaccines may god forgive your ass for lurkin these baby vaccine boardz tryin to make parents feel like they'r doin suttin wrong when they are not..they'r protection there kidz from flu'z etc and u wanna spend ya life protestin...fyi nobody listenz to a internet protester who doesnt have a clue
@antivaccines from a person with the name "antivaccines" you are just looking for trouble lady...or dude ... hope your kids ENJOY measles . If you dont beleive in things like this, then why watch the video..How old are you 12? Quit trying to start drama. These people are trying to keep their baby from getting sick and dying. If you choose not to give your child/children vaccines, thats your choice and might I add, DUMB .
what's wrong with posting this? It shows me why I will NEVER have a little one like that. All they do is cry, cry, cry, cry - whether they're getting shots or not.
Interesting rationale. LOL On the contrary, the vast majority of the time Amelia is a little angel. *Some* babies cry and cry non-stop, and *all* babies cry at least occasionally, but then again so do many grown ups.
Is it demented to cause the child to scream by immunizing her in the first place? No, of course not. It is necessary; the child was not harmed, and she is healthier for it. What's demented is publishing videos of people getting injured. This video portrays a routine medical procedure, that Amelia found scary for the first time.
I couldn't agree more that it is important to immunize children. My issue is that this video appears that it was made to humorize the screaming of infants. Why not "cut" no later than a second or two after the shot has been administered. We don't need to hear the gratuitous screaming, that is all.
A baby in pain is *never* humorous. However, nor is my video intended as an instructional documentary on how to administer pediatric immunizations. I included the full span of time from before the shot was given, until the baby is calm and content again with her mother. There's nothing gratuitous about that. Regardless, I thank you for submitting your honest opinion. It is far more useful than many of the thoughtless comments to be found online.
It isn't demented in any way. This is just a video of a baby's first shots. Thats all. Not to show the world a screaming baby. The poor thing does cry but because it is the only thing it knows how to do yet. So no that was not the point. It was just to show the world how poud the parents were of the child.
