Wow, I knew Jetty East was too close to the water, but seeing it from a bird's eye really puts it into perspective. I love those condos and that's where I always stay, but they really need to either build the beach back in front of it or tear it down. The water is slapping the parking lot. Could you tell me if they are planning to build the beach back? I was married in the spot of beach that has since been eroded in front of Jetty East :)

Beach nourishment has been a hot topic in Destin for a while. The Destin Log (The local paper) reported today that the funds for beach restoration have been cut by the state. Fortunately, the beaches east of Henderson State park (which I believe are the most popular beaches in Destin) have been restored and I can assure you, they are spectacular. We'll have to wait and see what happens on Holiday Isle.

Very nice, we were there in May 2002 & May 2007 & took a flight in a cessna along the coast out of Destin field, great views lovely coast & a very nice place to stay, also recomend eating in the Crab Trap & AJ's. Click my name to get to my flight from Destin.
