Black women come in all shapes, sizes and skin tones. There is not one type of Black woman. Their are certain tendency, but their is not one race that looks like monkeys, lol. Dont be offended. I don't think she means any harm. Older generation Asians have some stereotype about black people thanks to Hollywood/USA media. Some are pretty ignorant since they are not exposed to black people at all. I had an Asian American friend who was asked by a white family in NYC to take a picture with them. He asked why and they told them cause they never seen a Chinese person before LOL. Hopefully Internet will help break down some these barriers.

Japan changed it's constitution (1947) it's educational system and Shinto was no longer the Japanese state faith because of white US military generals who set policy from 1945-1952. At that time African American GIs were over Korean & Japanese people because they were US GIs but it was the white man who had power.

That's so weird. Even though I've only traveled to the Philippines I've never faced any racism from an Asian person. My college has a lot of Asian immigrants and whenever I meet one they're usually just fascinated by my looks but never felt me up or made those kinds of comments.
Number one, the Philippines ( SE Asia) and Korea (East Asia) are 2 very different places. Korea is the second most homogenous society behind Japan, which means foreigners are often starred at and observed. Asian immigrants living in the U.S. would not have the same response for 2 reasons. First, they chose to move to the U.S., meaning they are more open minded and secondly b/c they are of a younger generation.
An older Asian immigrant would never do that in America.

We can't get mad at other races for thinking this about blk people cause many of them get their cues on other races from the media. We all know that the media loves to go out and find the most ugliest black people to give international platforms to. Lols- I had almost the same thing in Beijing: twice! In taxis. The second time I asked the guy if i was standing next to a Chinese girl, which would be prettier and why. He said that as far as my face went, I would look pretty, but that my skin was just dark so I wouldn't win.

Dont be offended. I don't think she means any harm. Older generation Asians have some stereotype about black people thanks to Hollywood/USA media. Some are pretty ignorant since they are not exposed to black people at all. I had an Asian American friend who was asked by a white family in NYC to take a picture with them. He asked why and they told them cause they never seen a Chinese person before LOL. Hopefully Internet will help break down some these barriers.

Japan changed it's constitution (1947) it's educational system and Shinto was no longer the Japanese state faith because of white US military generals who set policy from 1945-1952. Number one, the Philippines ( SE Asia) and Korea (East Asia) are 2 very different places. Korea is the second most homogenous society behind Japan, which means foreigners are often starred at and observed. Asian immigrants living in the U.S. would not have the same response for 2 reasons. First, they chose to move to the U.S., meaning they are more open minded and secondly b/c they are of a younger generation.
An older Asian immigrant would never do that in America.

@CheezInspector Actually, that is not true. An African's head is very similar to that of a monkey (wide nose, diagonally slanted head, ect), an Asian does not. Asians do not have kinky hair either. The average IQ of an East Asian is 105 while the average IQ of an African is 70. you peope are constantly trying to defend racism in korea. yes, there are some koreans who aren't used to blacks and say some things that are considered offensive, but there IS racism in korea whether yu want to believe it or not. in korea, some shop owners say that they don't serve "that kind" when they see a black consumer. some think that black skin is ugly. there is racism no matter what you guys say. there are very cold hearted racist koreans in korea who HATE black people and some love us.

One true thing you should take away from this is that Koreans are very honest. and blunt. about everything. If you cant handle that dont go to Korea. Koreans are not racist in the way we think of racism but their inexperience leads them to say insensitive things that we are taught to lie about like what we're actually thinking when we look at someone of another race. The way Clarissa is mocking the woman's English(in her own country no less) isn't the model of PC either. So it cuts both ways.

The truth is this particular Korean person didn't know when to shut up and not embarrass herself by showing her stupidity and racism. There's nothing honorable about what she said so let's stop pretending there's some sort of virtue in it. ... Trying to defend such a thing is stupid.

Um? Racism does happen in countries where there is a lack of knowledge of other backgrounds. But it does not give the woman the right to walk away thinking black people are uncivilized monkeys. I would have told the woman off and explain how insulting her approach was. If the korean lady has little knowledge of black people then she needs to be re-educated.

Also old koreans is not natural to meet foreigners..specially black womans.
They just have seen in media.
It's because they have a prejudges.
Commonly, As whites are intellectual and Blacks are violent.
Because of these prejudges, blacks are stamped as monkey on their memory.
It's similar as if Asian are stamped as yellow monkey to westerns.
