  • my favorite 240p video

  • @urjnlegend in 2008 240p was amazing!

  • Epic. God bless you, Justin, and give you energy and creativity to keep on doing this.

  • this is going to be my first picking song :) i love this song....its hard but im determined....to learn it....i just have to work on blending...i know the tab...but im learning its coming along quite well thanks to Justin :)

  • I never knew how to finger pick guitar well until i watched this video, and now i know how to play this. You are such a great teacher!

  • I got 4 hours to learn this. I bet my uncle i would learn to play it next time i saw him. XD

  • Thank. you. omg

  • So useful! You're an excellent teacher, thanks a lot!

  • nitty gritty :D:D:D:D:D thanks mate!

  • I'm glad my doctor does not have one of those rings...

  • 30 people know nothing bout music

  • i love you man...

  • perfect

  • Just wanted to say a huge thanks from Geneva. Much appreciated.

  • Really helpful thanks, need more users like you on youtube :)

  • Thanks dude really helpful!!

  • I'm having a great day and you're making it better

  • Loved the lesson learned it 20 years ago, now I can learn it the right way, Thanks you rock!!!

  • when he picks, the squeekyness from the strings is like the rhytm, when he´s playing the whole thing through

  • @negernegersson or the bass, i haven´t decided yet

  • quality mate!! epic tune

  • Thanks Justin! Great vid. Really helped me learn this song!

I barre the F, just find it easier, matter of opinion isn't it :)

  • isn't it easier jsut to barre that f?

  • To the phiosopherking: the fact tht u are getting blisters is really good. It means it will soon be easy to play as long as you want, cus ur fingers will get real rough. When I got blisters I just kept playing until my fingers bled they got rough real fast haha

  • Wow man, ive been playing for a year and a half now self taught and ive been in a rut lately but seriously something about the way you teach guitar just got me out of that rut :) thanks a lot and keep up the awesome lessons!

  • great video and description. I am just a beginner but i really want to learn this song. not easy... taking me awhile advancing through the cords and the thumb one is killing my hand. As I type right now I can tell I am going to have blisters on all my fingers just from practicing this for 20 minutes or so. that's what i get for having to hold the strings down for so long

  • @ThePhilosopherKing00 Drink a couple beers before you play. It'll help, lol.

  • I have just used YouTube without an account to learn to play some nice songs but you have done such a comprehensive job with this tutorial that I felt obliged to create an account just to say a massive thanks. This is one of my favourite songs of all time, much obliged Justin.

  • May thanks Justin,

this useful video helped me to realize my own cover.

  • good job : )

  • J--as always, magnificent work-- QUESTION: does anyone know where this picking style originated? In slide guitar circles, it is called the Chet Atkins method, but surely, he didn't invent it-- anyone have ANY insight into the emergence of this approach?

  • That was brill, thank you x

  • Great vid but I don't agree with your fingering on the third riff chord which is D7 chord with bass. I find it much easier to place my thumb down the low E on the second fret and simply move finger 1 to the first fret B string, finger 2 on second fret G string, and finger 3 on third fret B string. It makes it much easier to transition to the last chord in the riff. You can just slide it down one to the E on the low E string and fingers 1,2,3 to the F major position on the B, G, D strings.

  • @kerzeen. You can look up all Led Zeppelin's songs at their internet page completely free.

  • post the tabs and chords in description/annotation, then you have a perfect lesson

  • justin ur awesome you even for this song you got a lesson sweet

  • You have beautiful French Tips :)

  • do you have a chord table or something similar?

  • My thumb does not want to cooperate =(

  • @Royisinabox I fucking HATE F chords.. Well.. My fingers do.

  • @izzlerds There is a reason it's called an 'F' chord ;-). Try barring it with your thumb against the back of the neck, or, -though this almost certainly isn't applicable to you unless you also play like Elizabeth Cotten!- barring, but only up to the second string (i.e; fingertip on second string) this gives enough force that the string should sound nicely.

  • Simply awesome Justin...thanks alot, love the tazmanian devil thrown in at the end as well.

  • Thank you :D

    This song is amazing.

  • Thank you so much ;)

  • the only thing i like more than your lessons is my guitar itself :)

  • thank you for teaching me stairway to heaven and babe im gonnaleave you

    ur amazing thanks

  • I love he's playing the hardest song I've ever played on guitar without looking at the fretboard :P

  • Comment removed

  • this is amazing i love it, all it takes is practice

  • I spent 10 minutes with the lesson and about 6 hours working on it. Thanks bro...

  • Thank you for this

  • What kind of acoustic guitar is he playing? Is sounds so Rich

  • Excelente video, completo y bien explicado.

  • Thanks very much! All Led Zeppelin tabs I've found on the internet have been blocked so this has been really helpful

  • I have to say this is the best guitar lesson I've ever seen! Thanks a lot man it really helped!

  • I love how the follow-up videos to this one have waaaay less views than this one. Dont quit people, this guy makes learning guitar very simple.

  • I aPPRECIATE the attention you pay to detail thank you sir

  • how long did it take u to learn this??

  • dude ur good luv it

  • the fucking animal right at the end scared the living shit out of me!!!!!!!

  • @KrishValiente I believe your biggest problem is that you have living shit inside of you.

  • @KrishValiente thats a tasmanian devil

  • I had an easy time figuring this song out, it's just difficult with some of the chord changes, but this video helped me a lot. Thanks for the help!

  • awesome lesson

  • 27 people were left in the summertime! thanks man the reason i started to play was because i wanted to learn this song and now thanks to you i have!

  • is that a sigma 10th anniversary guitar your playing

  • wie gut du spielst einfacht unglaublich:D

  • Justin - Thanks for the great lesson. Your teaching style is wonderful, and your playing is truly an inspiration! I really enjoyed this!

  • awesome work thank you very much

  • I was searching for the tab on this song, and it's blocked! As I see it, most Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton tabs are blocked... I hope they won't block Justin's vids too...

  • What's with the animal at the end?

  • Sound wise, the Em is very close since Em7 and G6 are the same chord with different roots, so for ease of playing you could get away with doing it the common way, but it's not perfectly accurate.

  • This isn't meant to criticize because you did a great job teaching this song, but there's one mistake which everyone makes. In the 2d section of the verse where it goes from Am to the 7th fret position and then to the Dm, the form is NOT an Em. The notes are as follows: B on 4th string, D on the 3d string and G on the 2d string. Essentially it's a D form G6 chord with an open E string. If you watch Jimmy Page closely you can see him play this.

  • thanks for all the help....nailed it!!

  • Justin, your Youtube channel is literally a GOLDMINE for any guitar student. I couldn't thank you enough.. ever..

  • @Hakan625 Hah, just found your comment here while trying to learn this piece.

Hi, Hakan. (not sure if you know me, but I cube too :p)

  • @FCCZJ1903 Hello Cornelius. Next time we meet, we will play this piece together ;-)

  • have to get a guitar and learn this, btw, gread tutorial!

  • yeah man, sounds really good :)

  • That's a really good tutorial. Particularly the movement of the chords between the various versions of Am, Am7sus4, Am7/G, Am, etc.

  • great job man i learned the whole thing and im a BEGGINER!

  • dude do a lesson for the solo PLEEEEEAAASEEE

  • so is that it? it just repeats? I really like the tutorial though i suck at guitar and i can almost play that slow

  • @RyanMinaker nevermind I see part 2..

  • So thats why he wears a hat.

  • do you guys pick that with your nails? I find when I grow my nails I constantly hit the wrong strings, so I trim them and then my strumming doesn't sound as good. Its quite a quandary

  • @ryank1esko after you pick with your fingertips, they get calloused, and then it will sound better,at least it did for me,

  • Awesome job mate

  • Thank you so Much!!!!!! You are an official B-A

  • your treaching is really amazing! took me half an hour to play the first part fluently.

listening to the song, at first i never thought i would be able to play it

  • I'm using this tune to teach myself proper fingerstyle! Wish me luck!

  • Where can I buy one of those serpent rings?

  • Great lesson man, learnt alot. cheers!

  • you're awesome! really good tutorial. some people teach it really fast and i cant catch up sometimes but you teach it good. sooo thanks to you i know this song :D

  • wow thanks man i learned the song by the end of the video. just need to practice

  • you know,i don't actually play the guitar very well(but then again after some practice...)but my point is that even if you cant play the song, you shoud be proud that this is the music you listen, not shit like...well you know.So don't give up and keep trying

  • Really, really good. I appreciate it, mate!

  • thanks; very good lesson, i thought it will be hard to play this song, but you have done an Excellent explanation

  • what a waste of time, just look for the tabs , thats it ...

  • @ToRnIkEE66

I don't agree, I find it very hard to learn from tabs, the reason is because I can't see what's happening so I don't know how to do it even if it's right infront of me. I have to see it being played before I can play it myself.

Thanks for the lesson Justin, it really helped.

  • @ToRnIkEE66

videos help because he tells you the fingering.

  • thank you justin . your lessons are clear and well done and best of all free

  • 26 idiots

  • This is a nice way to play it, but your I/M/R are supposed to stay on G/B/E and you thumb is supposed to switch between bass notes E/A/D. But to each's own I guess. :P

    -Isaiah

  • @Thatguitarguy20 typically yes, but with this song doesnt it flow much better?

  • @Thatguitarguy20 According to "classical" teaching maybe, but Led Zep isn't really classical is it? Just playing the bass notes with your thumb makes it easier to control the timing.

  • 9:43 ?? justin rocks!

  • good video but imo show the chords 1st then the picking

  • man you talk too much just play it, thanks for the lesson.

  • @eclipside133 You would complain if he didn't talk at all.

  • @eclipside133

if you dont need the talking maybe you dont need the teacher. but we are not as good as you

  • This is a great vid! One major question: where are you pulling that pick out of when you play the spanish bit? That's amazing!

  • @alipopo no pick, he grips his index like a pick

  • im on my way to learn all your songs.. keeo going justin u rock..

  • You're the best Justin!

  • nice one!

  • nice one!

  • Ahhh so amazing <3 I already knew how to play it but you really helped me clean up a few parts. Thanks!

  • All 25 people who disliked this video, what is wrong with you, honestly what could you dislike about that, unless u just tried to play the song and gave up, blaming it on the video, shame on you

  • @mydirtyturban69 I don't get how is this important to you? I would like people comment on the video, this man put some effort into this one. And you are commenting on some people who disliked it. I mean, who cares?

  • @Saprofilth i was just simply surprised at the fact that people disliked the video as i also agree he is a great guitar teacher and guitarist, i watch many of his videos and enjoy them greatly, whcih is why i commented on it.

  • @mydirtyturban69 some people just wanna watch the world burn..

  • @mydirtyturban69 they are probably trolls =/

  • Thank you so much for the great lesson!

  • dude, ur the man no question lol

  • Great lessons Justin, and great palying!

  • everytime i see the animal in the end i just freak out ;)lol u r great maaaaan!!!

  • Justin, this vid was great! I actually learned it in a week. I was looking for part 2 but could not find it.

  • This Guy is a good teacher, Love his accent :)

I bet he has been playing a long time. I started playing guitar when I was 12or 13 still LOVE to Play.

LED ZEPPELIN is my Fav band and to play

  • Thanks man, you are great.

  • This guy is the best guitarist teacher on the internet. I've been only playing a year and I've learned Layla acoustic, Fire and Rain, Sweet Baby Jane, Patience, Needle and the Damage Done and this one from Justin.

All simply from his site, no personal lessons. He teaches the songs in parts and shows one exactly how to play each part along with the correct rhythms, strumming and finger placement. And might I say, most if not all off his lessons are from his personal transcriptions.

  • excellence in guitar and instruction! BRAVO, and I'm very picky

  • i wasnt really planning on saying this but, i love you

  • thatnk you so much you do lessons on practically every classic acoustic song i want to learn, its like youve created this channel just for me! thanks again

  • You're my virtual hero!

  • @jtozija haha, he's my virtual hero too!

  • Hey Justin, thanks a million! I really get frustrated playing this because I flat pick, I pull my hair out trying to finger pick, so I appreciate how you detail the technique..I love your videos..long time subscriber..plus I play left so I need to "flip" everything in my head..

  • you are a really great teacher! Thank you so much for uploading your videos!!!

  • A little zep knowledge this was covered by zep not written. Was originally written by Anne Bredon as a folk song in the 1950's

  • thanx bro-you r great and nicely done !

  • Oh Justin Justin.....Im definitel not gonna leave you babe !

  • u rule man!!!

  • You, sir, rock! :D

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hey Justin,

many many thanks for this tutorial - i could manage the first part well (although by hybrid picking only) but the 2nd one i could only get it done by your tutorial.

    Berndt

  • 1:20 i got scared.

BUT youre just wonderful now i can play it on guitar.

  • people should be screaming "JUSTIN SANDERCOE!" not "JUSTIN BEIBER!"

  • Is that a nylon string guitar?

  • My hand isn't big enough to hold down the first fret of the low E and play an f chord...What do I do? I wanna play it right but I can't reach my thumb over the neck on that part of the guitar because my hands are very small :(

  • @jerk618 You can use your 1st finger, instead of thumb, or bar it. Your 3rd finger will be on the 2nd fret 3rd string and your pinky will move up to the 4th string on the 3rd fret. Then you can just slide down a fret to the next chord in the progression. It may not sound as fluid but it will work.

  • I love you!!!! I thought that in F I have to put my finger through all the strings but the song is fast :P

  • @Rudy7flo

i had the same problem lol, thank god for you tube videos and people like him

  • wow man ur really good. thanks so much for this vid bro. helped out a lot

  • Cool, but what the hell was that at the end!

  • How do you get the tab for the song??

  • Jimmy Page is god. Thanks to Justin for helping me get that much closer to god. : D

  • My fingers hurt xd

  • perfect

  • @BlueSpirals Haha, great comment!:D

  • I'd be lost if it wasn't for you man! Thanks a damn lot (:

  • my head hurts

  • how could anyone dislike this excellent tutorial

wish i could thumb-up all the downs

been playing twenty five years and you have shown me several instances

where I have been playing something wrong

  • his guitar sounds rusty..he needs some wd-40

  • You're for teaching songs as Page is for rocking guitars. Congratz. 8)

  • justin your the best guitarist teacher that i ever seen and heard!!

  • great teach!! the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • quite helpful.

  • thank you very much for teaching me this... finger picking was new to me before this song and it is so cool, have to say I started using my pinky to pick the high E and things got a lot easier for me seems like the chord changes are much smoother and easier, wouldn't want to have one of them tasmanian devils chasing me them damn things look ornery..

  • yet another prop for justins lessons. thanks man. very helpful.

  • Justin, you are the best teacher i've had, since my 17 year old teacher banged my

head on the fuse box. I was 12, and he wanted me to figure out songs for his

band. I'm 59 now and thanks to you for some great lessons

  • your are an awesome teacher

  • I can't actually see what his fingering is because its to far away, and its a bad quality camera.

  • O.O U r a Kind of Idol For Me lol -.-"

  • i have learnt so miuch from this guy/

  • that was an awesome video!
