  • It's amazing how hard we thought these games were as kids (i was born June 92,so i grew up with original Nintendo in the late 90's) Now it just seems so easy, course remember they were no "Save Game",You just had to play it with your older brother alll night :)

  • DAMN I WANT THIS GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL Why so fast xD?

  • fantastic!

  • Tay loko jajajajaja BOT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Toad keeps bullshitting Mario lol

  • at 11:16: WTH!!!

  • @Eman072011 ... it playing super mario bros world 1-1 music

  • I want this video on my XP3300 Force unit.

  • Of course, in some of those 300 Worlds, it may not be feasibly probable to run as fast as you can, since you could bump into an enemy or two and possibly lose a life.

  • In the Worlds where the time limit is 300 (rather than 400), it's best to run as fast as you can, especially in World 8 because they are quite long. Otherwise, you may run out of time or at least very short on time. Just saying in general, not to anyone in particular.

  • wait wait wait 6:21 you can fireball him!? never knew! anyways awesome job on the video. idf take forever to get where youve went

  • wow ! i never seen SUCH an ACING of this game before ! like robotic dodging of everything.

  • 8 people don't know what a Mario is.

  • you got lucky on 5-3

  • That 1 up in world 4-1 never is there when I play for some reson.

  • @cartoonfan29 if you don't use warp zones many of the 1-ups after world 1 won't be there.

  • That is so cheap he used the warp zone just to warp over the 2 easyest stages in the game. I love his videos but I dont see how this and the dr mario longplays are longplays sence in the dr mario one only one stage gets done and its the last one.

  • I personally hate level 2-3 because those stupid fishes keep flying. LOL

  • In levels 3-1 and 7-1, there's a way to get many extra lives (more likely in 7-1 if you're Fire Mario and 3-1 if you're Super Mario). Kill or send the first Koopa (Buzzy Beetle in 7-1) on its way. Then, wait for the second to come down the staircase right above you. If you time it right, you'll repeatedly kick the Koopa shell (Beetle armor in 7-1), which will gain you extra lives. Just be careful not to get too many or the game will end when you die.

  • @Dac719 Specifically, the game uses a signed byte to represent how many lives you have. When your life total increments beyond 127, it goes to -1, then -2, -3, -4, etc. all the way up to -128 and then back to 0, 1, 2, 3, etc.

After you lose a life, if your life total isn't at least 1, you get a game over. If the game thinks you have a negative number of lives, game over.

  • @glmathgrant I know it makes no sense, but why does it stop at 127 lives? Shouldn't it be 100 or 200 lives? And, as far as I know, this is the only Mario game (that I've played) that does this...a limit restriction on how many lives a player can have. In fact, the only game that I've played, period. I don't play every game, so I can't say if other games do this or not. But, as far as the games I've played over the years, this is the only one that does this.

  • @Dac719 SMB3, SMW, NSMB, and NSMBWii all top out at 99 lives; the counter can only hold two digits. A few games (Yoshi's Island, the Super Mario Advance remakes of SMB2, SMB3, and SMW) top out at 999, giving the player an extra digit. 127 is the limit in SMB1 as a consequence of the programmers using a signed byte to store lives; the life counter actually glitches up above 9, so I doubt the programmers anticipated players getting 10 or even 100 1-ups in one go.

  • @glmathgrant What happens if you get more lives than the counter can hold in the games you listed (more than 99 lives in the two-digit games and more than 999 lives in the three-digit games)? Just wondering. In the games you listed, I've only played SMB3 and the Super Mario Advance remakes.

  • @Dac719 In all games besides SMB1, once your life counter hits the maximum, 1-Ups have no effect until you lose a life.

  • @glmathgrant Thanks. In the games I did play (other than original SMB), I never got to the maximum number of lives.

  • woow U good player (Y)

  • Sorry Luigi, But your Bagel is in another castle!

  • Has anyone noticed at 09:55 when he kills the thing (don't know the name) it becomes the cloud which was sending things from the sky

  • @wizafrenchaccent

    the lakitu

  • @technologick1183

    17:49 And what happened there?

Look at the plant. I don't see him get shot, yet he instantly disappears.

    Disguised blooper too?

I think he pasted together some clips in some parts or maybe he hacked the rom and set it to kill it instead of mario when he touches an enemy.

  • Wow. Monty Mole is good, warp zone or no warp zone.

  • 12:17

The only bug so far I found in the complete game.

Bowser turns into a squid corpse at when he's killed.

  • @Yezpahr

    I don't think that's a glitch. That Bowser was a disguised Blooper.

  • @technologick1183

Are you sure? I'm nearly sure I also saw it myself while playing the official gamecartridge.

  • @Yezpahr

I'm positive. The seven Bowsers you fight in Worlds 1 through 7 are disguised Koopa Troopas (not literally; I mean like the army including Goombas and Buzzy Beetles). It's happened in mine, too. Check out Mario Wiki and do a search on "Fake Bowser" and it will pull up the article for you.

  • @technologick1183

In your first response, I misunderstood the word "Blooper".

I thought you meant a genuine blooper, not a name of some creature in-game :P.

Never noticed the others had a different skin at death as well.

  • @Yezpahr

I guess I didn't think about that. But, yeah, I thought something was wrong with my NES game when that happened but figured there had to be a reason for it happening every time. That's why I like Mario Wiki. It's not always accurate but gives some great insight.

  • Congratulations. you gained 565400 MSP (Mario skill points) You leveled up to Skill Level 46! Good luck in SMBTLL (Super mario bros:the lost levels)

  • @fantasto5 did you know that smbtll is actually the real super mario bros 2? it came out in 1986 right after the first one and was only released in japan for the famicom disc system you can also get in super mario bros deluxe for gbc (game boy color) and gba as part of the famicom mini series the us version is doki doki panic with mario sprites

  • 01:46 OH SHIT run for your lives

    *suicide*

  • Comment removed

  • played with skill. also some ppl think you can get hit in this, good luck gettin past level 6 as little mario with no fire, hard to get fire if you already lost it too

  • youre inficible in 2-3

  • Where can u buy these old school games emulators ?

  • @OhioBoneThugz

You cant buy them - you can download them - google is your friend ;)

  • You need make other longplay of this game without warping.

  • mario :D

  • It's like, WHO CARES if he skipped the world 1... like, every loser that points this is not a real long run, it's because never beaten world 1 in SMB. or what? I think is not necessary to play world 1, in fact, I would do the same in a video like this. Great game play!

  • This game gives me the memories...I just love those Sound FX! Ahhh

  • ale koleś leci na farcie :)

  • the legend of the videogames .super mario 4ever :)

  • This is not a real "Long-play"! The player used the Warp Zone! Rofl!

  • @EuroTranceMaster

Its NES longplay 005, at that time we didnt have very strict rules yet :)

  • I had no idea there were as many 1up mushrooms in the game as there are. I know that there are a couple you can only get if you warp to that world which adds to the risk vs reward thing but I thought there were less.

  • @jamak42

The 1-UP only shows up on the first stage in Worlds 2-8 if you clear the third stage (World x-3) of every World. For example, no 1-UP appears in World 2-1 unless you collect every coin in World 1-3.

  • 13:14 - Mario was "Struttin' that ass" :D

  • is it me, or did bowser die as a cloud koopa on 5-4, 9:53

  • THAT WAS FREAKING AAAAAAAAWWWWSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMEE

    LOLOLOLOLOL :P

  • it looks like a speed run

  • nice! thanks!

  • WOW awesome dude this brings back memories lol. This was the first video game I ever player 21 years ago.. I don't remember the princess being that small though... I thought she was Mario's size but whatever.

  • Will you do a Nes Longplay of Super Mario Brothers 2 soon please? We wanna see that one. Thanks you.

  • Will you do a Nes Longplay of Uninvited soon please? We would love to see that one. Thanks dude.

  • This is what you call a "Shortplay"

  • what should happen at the end? do you press b?

  • @cubex55 Do you have to use :) at every secntence....;)

  • @glitchyjoe64

    No :)

    I :(

    Dont ;)

  • @cubex55 :)

  • what are bomb sounds at the end of the levels?

  • oii mammaaaaaaaa giocavo sempre

  • 11:14 - the music changes.. why?

  • hey i can play like that....kinda...just more carefully xD

  • good play

  • Two things. You forgot the coins, and you missed the infinite lives trick.

  • According to me, every game you play from start to finish is longplay

  • wouldn't "all 1-ups" be taking all the coins too?

  • LONGPLAY??!! It looks like a speedrun!?

  • I've never heard the term "tool-assisted"; does that mean that an emulator was used?

Also, good gameplay. It almost makes me laugh at how effortlessly the player beat this game. Puts most players to shame :D

  • FIRE IN WATER?! Does Not Compute! D:!

  • codes ? not realy .... no codes :D easy game

  • it looks like you don't even enjoy it!!

  • thats not normalll

  • You skipped level 1-3 and the castle. How does this count as an official longrun?

  • I agree with you

  • @Samdepopz

There is a catch: he did this run specifically for all the 1-UP Mushrooms.

  • @Samdepopz

Read the description. This is an all 1-Up run. He's finding each and every 1-Up Mushroom.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X So you told me. Twice.

  • @Samdepopz yeah you right

  • awesome quality!

  • No, no cheats have been used!

  • yeah, he loses his fire at some point. i am, however, a bit confused about bowsers iffy death sprite

  • @ShdwFrg In the first seven appearances of Bowser it isn't really Bowser, it's another enemy in disguise, whose true identity is revealed when it dies. Only the last one is actually Bowser.

  • @abelhalight No that's just his awesome skillz at play man.

  • da memories

  • MontyMole, have u ever tried beating the Super Mario Bros' world record of 5:00 minutes?

  • No. I am not really interested in game competitions but in the dokumentation from old Video/Computergames. :)

  • DO THE MARIO!

  • 5:04 Mario>>>>>Sonic

  • your really good at this game! I have it and I know how hard it is.

  • this is a great classic, that was my first game xD

  • how do u lat da fireworks go off wen u complete a level?

  • When you finish a level, if the time remaining ends with a 1, 3 or 6, it will let off that many fireworks (e.g. 126 would let up 6 fireworks)

  • It`s dependent from the timer. If the last digit an 1, 3 or 6 you get the firework.

  • This is a classic. I'd recommend it personally.

  • Great Classic!

  • 5000 points on all levels, in the final of a level.

  • I NOTICE SOMTHING! HE NEVER lOOKED BACK

  • 13:55

  • lmfao

  • wie schnell der typ da durch rennt. heftig

  • jesus, that's a pro player eheh, nice.

  • Ah, finally the legendary SMB1 :)

  • do you think Super Mario Bros is better than sonic???

  • Good, but it'd be a looonger play going through all the levels. ^^;

  • But our Princess in in another castle!

  • LOL!!!

  • Why does he suddenly have X0 lives after stage 5-3?

  • @dabbasw31 You mean the crown next to the number? He actually had 10 lives, but there was a programming glitch because Nintendo apparently never expected a player to rack up more than 9 lives (remember, this was one of their very first NES games)! If you get to 20 lives and beyond, other sprites show up in the digits.

  • Not a longplay if you skip levels.

  • According to Monty this is a "collect all 1up" longplay!

  • Ah okay.

  • this almost looks Tool-Assisted

  • It is - most of our vids are Tool-assisted :)

  • ooo, sorry I get confused about which Subs I have that are TAS

  • Tool-assisted or not, the videos are highly entertaining. And i get nostalgic seing all those old games again.

  • mario didn't have any starpower up in Mario64

  • 100% a classic.
