I have seen a great many guitar players of all different styles and abilities. Many of them were sublimely wonderful for different reasons. In my opinion, when Ani is at her best, her guitar seems an extension of herself. At that moment, she was for me also, one of the greatest acoustic guitar players I have e
do bogans,trailer trash and chavs go for this woman? I met a real sub chromosome type unit who thought she is the 'best acoustic guitarist in the world' John McLaughlin, Al di meola and Paco de Lucia clearly don't figure in his esteemed estimations.
I saw a couple of shows from this tour. I went more for Dylan than Ani, although I definitely was a fan of hers as well. But I must say, she really upstaged him. Maybe half or more of the crowd seemed to be hers to begin with, but in terms of quality, she really beat him by a good deal. (And I am a big Dylan fan.)
In October, I'll be going to maybe my 15th or 16 Ani show. Best 'opening act' I ever saw.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. It helped me through my breakup with my first love. She is so talented, and her lyrics are so catchy and clever. She is such a great performer that sometimes I just want to cry after hearing her songs.

This is the first Ani song I ever heard. I sat and listened through the entire album ("Dilate") in one shot, completely mesmerized by her lyrics, her voice, her music. I have been a fan ever since, and she always amazes me.

This is the first Ani song I ever heard. I sat and listened through the entire album ("Dilate") in one shot, completely mesmerized by her lyrics, her voice, her music. I have been a fan ever since, and she always amazes me.

When does she sing it "in a random fashion" at all? It's a LYRIC and it fits into the MELODY.
I'm no fan of needless profanity, but in this case the "fuck you" is the perfect lyric for this song. She doesn't use that much profanity most of the time.
Oh well...you like her or not. No singer is going to touch every listener.
