  • AWSOME quality dude put some more

  • @SPAZPRPO I was really pleased when I found this too ^^ So many versions were really crackly... But hey, I'm always on the lookout for rarities - if I find any good ones I shall certainly post them

  • Exciting performance.

He also had such a great band !

They easily would stand toe to toe, note for note

with the E St. Band and their singer, imo.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @mikemikeyf Oh definately! I'd have loved to have seen him when he was with Liberty and Richie...

Joel and Springsteen - two of the greatest musicians to come out of America... Actually, two of the greatest musicians EVER to my mind ^^

    You're very welcome :)

  • Love the quality of this recording.

  • @spinalcrackerbox I know! Live recordings are NEVER this good! I was ever so pleased with this rare find and I'm glad you are too ^^

  • i just learned jerry sienfeld who is my favorite comedian bought billy joels summer home i think it was

  • @Arontala22 I want to be rich enough to buy celebrities' summer homes!... In fact I want to be rich enough to own ANY summer home! XD

  • is it weird that i listen to this every day and have a shrine dedicated to billy joel in my room?

  • @Arontala22 Um... XD No, not at all!!! It's amazing!

...Methinks I need a music shrine too... :D

  • @kyokoushio severed heads go really well with shrines too i have 3 of em

  • @Arontala22 Hmm... Severed heads... Need to get me some of those... Any suggestions? XD

  • the audio is excellent i have been looking for this song for awile and the only ones i found didn't have very good audio quality so thanks for uploading this

  • You're very welcome ^^

  • im 18 and i used to listen to all rap and i started to hear what my father listened to and now im into all the old rock way better then rap but i also like staind creed disturbed matellica and some heavier stuff

  • My father is my biggest influence musically too - I discovered all of my favourite artists whilst searching through his CD cupboard.

Incidentally, have you ever listened to any of Eric Clapton's music? If you say you like older rock music I should certainly give him a listen ('Cocaine', 'Layla' and 'Lay Down Sally' are probably good ones to start with) - unless you're already a fan of course ^^

NB Layla is actually by Derek and the Dominos but Clapton was their lead singer and guitarist

  • hes a jew, but not jewish so to speak

  • Jewish

  • hes jewish

  • he's Italian—Catholic

  • wat a cunt.............hes so awesome but jew boys paying out catholics........

  • Im 14 and songs that my dad listens to rock much better then the shit we listen to today

  • My father influences what I listen to too. I discovered all of my favourite music after going through his CD collection - though I'm not allowed to touch the vinyl :(

I refuse to listen to radio stations like BBC Radio 1 now because of the music - I'll stick to my mp3 player! :D

  • lol. im fourteen too and i couldn't agree more about your comment. my friends dont understand my taste inmusic.

  • Rappers cant sing for shit

Country singers are good but i dont like the style

Today's rock stars are not good

  • todays rock stars? what with there three chord strumming and nearly identical lead singers and "melodies" I agree todays music is right next to shameful and pathetic

  • i love this song x3 its so catchy even though im only a kid i love these old-ish songs XD cause they rock!

  • I'm 16 and this is my favourite song ever! Older music is far better than contemporary stuff - you have very good taste in music! XD

  • thx :3 and i know right? its all either some teenage star [IE hannah montana XP] doign a good song and ruining it or some lame pop song. som eof the new 1s r good though x3

  • I gave up paying attention to the charts a long time ago ^^; I'm afraid I couldn't tell you any of the recent #1s.

    I wish I'd lived in the '70's... :D

  • The drums make me think of Sgt Pepper for no explicable reason.

  • Um... Fair enough! XD I'm afraid I can't quite hear that ^^

  • @Vadergeek Liberty said that Ringo Starr is one his influences

  • This was from the Nassau Colisseum in 1978. It was broadcast live on WNEW. I recorded it on a cassette tape and still have the concert. This was his first encore that night.

  • Whoops - I got this from a fansite and it was labelled as 1977. I shall change it now - thank you for the correction.

I hope you don't mind if I use this comment as part of the video description?

  • my favorite billy joel song. it touches me. :]]]]] lmao.

  • My favourite too! This and 'Piano Man' are, in my opinion, the two greatest songs he ever wrote. I love them both and I look forward to when I can play piano well enough to do the two of them justice (right now I'm kind of killing them...)

  • I found it on a fansite that has now, unfortunately, shut down. If you send me your email, I'd be happy to send it to you :D

  • Billy Joel knows music like no other artist. No music like this is this good anymore.

  • I quite agree - my main source of music is my dad's CD collection, from about 1950 to 1990 - the best years for music

  • BTW, I kinda like the drum intro. Maybe it's because I'm a drummer? I don't know.
