@SPAZPRPO I was really pleased when I found this too ^^ So many versions were really crackly... But hey, I'm always on the lookout for rarities - if I find any good ones I shall certainly post them
the audio is excellent i have been looking for this song for awile and the only ones i found didn't have very good audio quality so thanks for uploading this
im 18 and i used to listen to all rap and i started to hear what my father listened to and now im into all the old rock way better then rap but i also like staind creed disturbed matellica and some heavier stuff
My father is my biggest influence musically too - I discovered all of my favourite artists whilst searching through his CD cupboard.
Incidentally, have you ever listened to any of Eric Clapton's music? If you say you like older rock music I should certainly give him a listen ('Cocaine', 'Layla' and 'Lay Down Sally' are probably good ones to start with) - unless you're already a fan of course ^^
NB Layla is actually by Derek and the Dominos but Clapton was their lead singer and guitarist
My father influences what I listen to too. I discovered all of my favourite music after going through his CD collection - though I'm not allowed to touch the vinyl :(
I refuse to listen to radio stations like BBC Radio 1 now because of the music - I'll stick to my mp3 player! :D
todays rock stars? what with there three chord strumming and nearly identical lead singers and "melodies" I agree todays music is right next to shameful and pathetic
thx :3 and i know right? its all either some teenage star [IE hannah montana XP] doign a good song and ruining it or some lame pop song. som eof the new 1s r good though x3
This was from the Nassau Colisseum in 1978. It was broadcast live on WNEW. I recorded it on a cassette tape and still have the concert. This was his first encore that night.
My favourite too! This and 'Piano Man' are, in my opinion, the two greatest songs he ever wrote. I love them both and I look forward to when I can play piano well enough to do the two of them justice (right now I'm kind of killing them...)
I quite like the Drum Intro actually - took some time to grow on me though =] Wonderful song!

Exciting performance.
He also had such a great band !
They easily would stand toe to toe, note for note
with the E St. Band and their singer, imo.
Thanks for posting.

@mikemikeyf Oh definately! I'd have loved to have seen him when he was with Liberty and Richie...
Joel and Springsteen - two of the greatest musicians to come out of America... Actually, two of the greatest musicians EVER to my mind ^^
You're very welcome :)

I gave up paying attention to the charts a long time ago ^^; I'm afraid I couldn't tell you any of the recent #1s.
I wish I'd lived in the '70's... :D

Whoops - I got this from a fansite and it was labelled as 1977. I shall change it now - thank you for the correction.
I hope you don't mind if I use this comment as part of the video description?

Billy Joel knows music like no other artist. No music like this is this good anymore.
mikokat 3 years ago
I quite agree - my main source of music is my dad's CD collection, from about 1950 to 1990 - the best years for music
kyokoushio 3 years ago
BTW, I kinda like the drum intro. Maybe it's because I'm a drummer? I don't know.
