VII had those two weapons that require complex materia combinations to master. I hate rpgs that can be finished with just brute strength alone.
This is the second i"ve seen a small people attacted to the final boss. First time i saw it was in ff5 (good game play story was rather bland. All the really cool people died. Farris and Krylie were the shit. Galuf was too.)
This game and FF8 are the only games I never managed to beat... But I was a 12-13 year old at the time, which probably is worth blaming xD Tempting to play these two over again now ...
This really annoys me. I just beat this game yesterday (on PSX. Played it on console ^_^), was around level 40 with everyone and I struggled to beat him. Then I see this and I think, "why do people make the game too easy for them? It just takes away the fun and challenge..." My strongest character (Terra) only had 2900HP. It took me about 30 minutes (no joke) to win this fight. Would you consider this a low level playthrough?
@DarkTypeMarth more likely a no grinding walkthrough, which imo is the only way to really enjoy the game isntead of making god characters who kill bosses with a single strike
Is the GBA version significantly lighter (colorwise) than the SNES? I remember Kefka's tower being very dark and ominous. In this vid, it seems a bit washed out looking.

Out of all the enemies during the final battle of Final Fantasy VI, the second battle during the tier of monsters is the hardest to me. It is like fighting a real party at an even level. During my first playthrough of this game, Magic, Power, Tiger, and Machine gave me the hardest time. Not Kefka. Especially Tiger, that magic spamming mutant...
@McScreamo even if you are underleved,kefka can be beaten easily...just make sure to make something if he use fallen heart( dont exactly remeber the name of the attack)
@ChrisTheBest1992 *facepalm* he can use an attack that hits ten times and it does around 800 damage. that would wipe someone out especially a person at level 40. plus he can freeze you, and cause a shit load of other status ailments like zombie which is not so easy to cure and be back to normal.

I used to have issues with SNES to GBA port graphics clarity, until I found out that the SNES had a Mode 7 graphics processor, and the GBA only had a Mode 5 graphics processor. I have all of the US releases of the Square-Enix ports/remakes of the NES/SNES games for GBA and PSP, and have preordered the Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection for PSP which is an enhanced port of Final Fantasy IV and a port of the Wiiware sequel, Final Fantasy IV-The After Years on one UMD disc.
I remember reading something about how each tier represented Kefka in some way, like the last one is Kefka as God (Of Destruction), and another tier was his suffering, or somethin' like that...
FF X is by far my favorite and at a close second is ff 1 dawn of souls. 10 was the most emotional final fantasy ive ever played, the final battle nearly made me cry. mind you i was in 5th grade when i beat but it still, such nostalgia. You really got to get inside the characters head.. so 10 is the best imo..
Theres only 1 problem with this FF6: final boss should be harder... its so easy to kill him that its almost frustrating. BTW i played the game when it was released in 1994... At that time it was amazing to play FF6, today its all about nostalgia but I love it til now.
Before I played FF6 Sephiroth was my favorite FF villain, but now that I just finished Final Fantasy 6 I think Kefka takes the cake! I love the tier of monsters that lead up to him, both he and the monsters look like something out of a Roman painting of Gods. And the music sets the tone perfectly, I was actually nervous when I was fighting him!

VII had those two weapons that require complex materia combinations to master. I hate rpgs that can be finished with just brute strength alone.

This really annoys me. I just beat this game yesterday (on PSX. Played it on console ^_^), was around level 40 with everyone and I struggled to beat him. Then I see this and I think, "why do people make the game too easy for them? It just takes away the fun and challenge..." My strongest character (Terra) only had 2900HP. It took me about 30 minutes (no joke) to win this fight. Would you consider this a low level playthrough?

Out of all the enemies during the final battle of Final Fantasy VI, the second battle during the tier of monsters is the hardest to me. It is like fighting a real party at an even level. During my first playthrough of this game, Magic, Power, Tiger, and Machine gave me the hardest time. Not Kefka. Especially Tiger, that magic spamming mutant...

I used to have issues with SNES to GBA port graphics clarity, until I found out that the SNES had a Mode 7 graphics processor, and the GBA only had a Mode 5 graphics processor. FF X is by far my favorite and at a close second is ff 1 dawn of souls. 10 was the most emotional final fantasy ive ever played, the final battle nearly made me cry. mind you i was in 5th grade when i beat but it still, such nostalgia. Before I played FF6 Sephiroth was my favorite FF villain, but now that I just finished Final Fantasy 6 I think Kefka takes the cake! I love the tier of monsters that lead up to him, both he and the monsters look like something out of a Roman painting of Gods. And the music sets the tone perfectly, I was actually nervous when I was fighting him!

Ultima weapon does damage depending on your current health... more health=more damage.
In this case Terra needed the health so that she could inflict 9999 damage to Kefka with each swing.
