What a job tnat was! Getting reat long trains of loose coupled trucks up over the penneines and then down the otherside(!!). No continuous airbrakes or wheelslip detecting 3000 hp diesels. Holed up in loops for hours on end while the fire clinkers up. Real mans work!
Envious sigh! The nearest I could manage is chuffing about on preserved lines (much embarrassment). Thank goodness for films like this to remind us though.
