I had the same problem with my targa, it's the stock CDI. I sent a response of what mine was doing. I ended up getting the puch e50 cdi from treatland.tv and replaced the stock one. Problem solved
idk if youve fixed the problem yet but i really hope you are premixing your oil and not still using the oil injection because you were running it without the oil pump but anytime your having electrical problems a new plug is a good start or check plug gap most likey your condenser is going bad have you adjusted your points? if not take some fine sand paper 320 grit or more and lightly sand the points and blow them out with compressed air and adjust them then replace your condenser $15 or wiring.
mine is the other type with the four coils, i have a used and a new coil set and i have tried them both and both are the same, sparkplug is newish but it came off of a working engine, it has been suggested to me to try timing it far away from stock
Looks like it's misfiring. What kind of ignition do you have? Point or the other? If point, recalibrate the points, if the other one (don't remember the name), replace of recalibrate that to.
Have you tried new spark plugs? And new sparkcable?
