  • The people you have to reach out to are the ones who have only recently lost their faith and as new atheists, have not yet found their new purpose in life. They're the ones who are at greatest risk of doing something stupid.

  • Why are atheists depressed? Because we're surrounded by idiots who believe in an imaginary, magical, invisible, telepathic super-being, and they use that as a basis for everything they do.

  • Either you believe that God defines your purpose in life or that you define it for yourself. The latter is commonly referred to as freedom.

  • Atheist will never understand the creationist simply because they refuse to see the beauty of nature as a proof of intelligent design created by a supreme been that put everything in its place instead they rather believe that everything in nature occur by chance and it took billions and billions of years to be this way, who is living in a fairy tales? It's like tossing cheese ,tomato souse and bread in the air and getting back a pizza pie with toppings.

  • @juanitamal "It's like tossing cheese ,tomato souse and bread in the air and getting back a pizza pie with toppings."

I did that. It was delicious.

  • it's hard to have hope sometimes when u don't believe in magical fairy tales. it's hard to enjoy christmas as much as when u were a kid, when u no longer believe all the magical myth that goes along with it. it's also hard to ignore back pain before u shoot up heroin.

reality, as seen for what it really is, is a hard thing to accept...only the strong can accept it. the weak have trouble, but take pride in the fact that they at least are being realistic. the very weak, resort to fantasy.

  • The difference between me as a non-believer and a believer is that I actually enjoy my life and try to make a difference no matter how small it is. Most religious people don't believe this. They'd rather see our world be destroyed so that their religious dogma be realized.

  • Religion doesn't actually confer meaning--it just defers the issue. A religious person doesn't actually know the meaning of their lives; they are awaiting the afterlife when this will be revealed.

  • Life has no meaning. Life gives us meaning.

    That's the difference.

  • To feel that I am on this planet for this very brief period in time, to look at this amazing planet, to see the same star in the sky that every living thing that ever existed on this planet has seen is, to put it understatedly....simply breathtaking!

  • I really enjoy how you put this, and it really clarified something I never quite worked out before. I always wondered why most religious people I meet, especially ones in my small town, really don't seem very lively, bothered, or interesting. It's because they've resigned themselves to a purpose in life and an excuse for it, even if it's a rubbish one. it leads them to be too content with things. Religion is resignation and a blockade for true progress.

  • 381 thumbs up and only 12 thumbs down? This must be an atheist video, hehe. We seem to rule YouTube at least, we non-believers.: )

  • @winterstellar No we dont, LOL. Its just that theists dont watch this videos.

  • The problem is that religions make the huge error of implying that a persons beliefs are a moral choice. Weather or not you believe something is a measure of your inteligence, not a measure of your morality and certainly not something that justifies being sent to "hell" for.

If a person has reason to believe in god they will, but it's not something they should be judged for on a moral basis if they don't.

  • "Being an atheist doesn't mean you think that life has no purpose. It only means that your purpose is undefined." I'd like to refute this claim. Being an atheist means our life's purpose isn't a selfish list of actions to get to heaven. It is because life is short and imperfect that we want to live it to its fullest. Just like how the justice system is flawed, that we want to praise the good and shun the bad. Just like nothing is fair that we show compassion to those less fortunate than us.

  • @BaurakAle7

    Ah ha ....

Never heard of the Mighty Book of Mormon Museum.

Must find a youtube video for a good laugh.

And then I'll be off hunting Leprechauns.

  • @TheJohnFrum

Arrah, begorrah and bejaysus, and sure

Praise be to the All Might Be Magic Man.

  • @TheJohnFrum "Grow up will you and stop embarrassing yourself America! That you even have to discuss this in 2011 id a disgrace. We figured these things out over 100 years ago."

Right On!!! Do you know over 40% of Americans think that the Theory of Evolution is false? That's a pretty sad statistic for a country whose citizens still think they're Number 1 and leading the world into the 21st century.

They may as well say that gravity doesn't exist. Shameful !!!

  • @warren52nz

Warren, check out the "Creationist Museum" in Kentucky.

    .... And

    "Magic Mormon Underpants"

American idiocy has no boundaries. But, it sure is a good laugh !

  • @tellnet "check out the "Creationist Museum" in Kentucky.

    .... And

    "Magic Mormon Underpants"

American idiocy has no boundaries. But, it sure is a good laugh !"

It's tempting to just laugh at them but they have the nukes and guys like Bush who get into power on the wave of religious voters. Religion and weapons has always been a recipe for disaster. The Middle East is a good example but there's only one country that's dropped nukes on civilians and they did it TWICE!!!

    Be afraid.....

  • @warren52nz

What fun we will have when they elect Sarah Palin.

She will pray for you as she presses the pink button.

  • I'll tell you one important thing about Atheism for me and that is that I'm allowed to examine the world objectively and decide what the nature of reality is for myself. And if new evidence shows up that contradicts what I thought was true, I'm allowed to CHANGE MY MIND without shame or hesitation.

I don't mind being wrong. Knowing you got something wrong allows you to fix it.

Christianity doesn't allow this. You have to believe all the stupid things it says with all your heart & deny evidence

  • I like that you, unlike many other Atheists on youtube, calmly explain your (our) point of view without attacking religions too much. Naturally, not attacking religions at all would make it very hard to explain our point of view, but I often get the impression that most Atheists are arrogant a-holes who never misses a chance to harrass, disrespect and humiliate belivers. In my oppinion this is only undermining Atheism, making it repellant to belivers.

  • circustracer : yout life is still based on wishful thinking

you still hide from the truth

  • Being a Theist doesn't mean you your purpose spelled out for you either.

STOP FUCKING EQUATING THEISTS WITH RELIGION!

I am a Theist, but I subscribe to NO religion.

  • well said brother!

  • Why not live and let live?

History shows that religious fanatics have done malevolence to humankind using rationalization. Terrorist attacks today are based on that very thing.

You have never heard of an atheist group attacking anyone except religious believers in debates. And honestly in my neck of the woods, having to converse with people who put god in every sentence is annoying and why most of my friends are online.

  • What exactly was the meaning of a religious life? Does the bible have a section on that because they've never quoted a passage when I ask about it.

It sounds an awful lot like they don't have any meaning but they have it on great assurance that there is, and it'll be all explained when you die.

So just... live your entire life without any sense of purpose.. for god has a plan! (Pinky swear!)

  • Are you ozmoroid? You two sound EXACTLY the same!

Anywho, I love your videos. I've just started watching a few of them and they're very concise and well reasoned.

  • I'm with you man- awesome video. I never felt as free and alive as when I finally shed the chains of religion. Its the difference between walking around with blinders on versus experiencing the mystery of existence straight on-with eyes wide open and all possibilities stretching out to infinity before you.

Its just so much better and my life has gained importance (to me).

  • You are a very smart man!

  • Really, really, great video! You have a firm grasp on the reality of the situation. I couldn't have said it better myself!

  • Not believing offers nothing. How could it do otherwise? Non-belief is just that: not belief. End of story. However, not believing in god is the only rational position. Nothing to do with benefits. Just recognising the obvious.

  • Excellent video.

  • Humanity can be traced back hundreds of thousands of years (if not millions). What did our ancestors, who lived in caves & huts believe in.? If the bible is true,

How can our ancestors be "saved" ? There were no holy books back then.....

  • I really think you were trying to reach out with your heart with this video and I felt it, However you will never understand, thank you though for trying to share your perspective I will remember this moment in the future many thousands of years from now peace be onto you.

  • Many religious people risk losing the love and respect of their family and friends if they reject their faith. I can understand why they would be fearful of even looking down that road.

  • im an atheist and i do feel hopeless...not because i dont believe in god, thats ridiculous. god is obviously a fairy tale. i feel hopeless because the world is ran by these ignorant people who do believe in god. and they use the monetary system to enslave us so they can control the worlds resources..the world is completely fucked up. 1% of the people own 40% of the worlds wealth. Earth has become a prison..we are in dyer need of a revolution

  • I love how we Atheists are looked down upon just because we don’t believe in fairy tales and magical men up in the sky.

  • @VaultOfMisfortune uh no, this guy is trying to say something to prove that atheists are wrong. Maybe you should give some evidence instead of an ad hominem attack?

btw his concepts are wrong but you're saying that he's wrong because of his religion not because of how science works...

  • @MrBigEnchilada no he is not you freakin retarded believer

  • there is so much to learn and limited time, why get puff on things that you can no understand, all that you know is had been handed out, by someone else, observe all that is around you, then form an opinion, according to your senses.

  • Atheism has something to offer? I wonder what that is? You seem to know a lot about believers. You are certain of your answers. I guess that is a comfort on some level. I guess that certainty is what atheism has to offer. OK now I get it.

  • Atheism is once again assumption. Can't we all just live in wonder and doubt, seeking knowledge all the time?

  • The ancient writings were written by ignorant people who thought the world was flat and would have had no interest in underarm deodourant even though they lived in a hot climate ! The Jews Muslims and Christians all hope to get into heaven, but as there is only ONE heaven, where fighting is not permitted, they will have to live TOGETHER in peace with Micky Mouse, Donald Duck and Popeye. How nice!

  • Thank God I'm an Athiest !

  • dismal indeed.

  • I always shake my head sadly at the theist who asks what purpose would there be without God? The truth is, we atheists are free to set our own purpose. We not only have the freedom to do so, but also the intellectual empowerment. But it's not just a freedom, it is a responsibility as well. I believe the theist has forsaken this freedom and responsibility to a non-existent God, and many just wind up getting their purpose from their priest instead. Pretty darn close to slavery..

  • I dont have a sense of hopelessness as an athiest. i get excited about things. i just tend to get about the sciency ideas rather than the magicy ones

  • Beautiful !!! :)

  • Come to the dark (atheist) side. We have cookies. :)

  • @bookwormsrcool mmmm...coooookies

  • i liked this vid

  • What? I am hopelles? Wow. Thanks you fanatic religious beliver for sharing that with me. Now my life has purpose! I will belive in magic from now on :))

  • @popmihai2000 ? Try watching this vid again.

  • Here's my not so humble opinion, possibly condescending even. I feel i must say it anyway.

This life is the only life we know we'll get. This is probably our only chance.

I say we, as humans, stop waiting for the next life you may or may not get and start taking responsibility for what goes on with humanity and our home planet in this life.

If we take that responsibility seriously, i'm convinced we can easily make this world a much better place to live in.

  • the most moral states in america and the most moral and crime free countries in the world tend to be more atheist (look it up) I think religon has made human morals more extreme,ie.. we cant just live together, we have to compete for the affections of a jealous creator, or high preist bishop rabbi, or someone else who knows (with magic power) more than we do.

  • You, my friend, have hit the nail on the head. People do what they feel like doing and make their reasons later. Argument with the religious is mostly futile because you are trying to argue with rationalizations and BS.

  • Comment removed

  • i dunno that sounds rather depressing to me

  • Comment removed

  • @giovanni5525 maybe, but that is no argument to believe in some deity... That would be as much as saying - Religion might not be true but never mind that since we can rely on it for comfort.

  • ok grenda calm down :] .......*chuckle*

  • You guys are not rational either.

  • AND, I think we're going to HAVE to try and figure out a way to deprogram them!

  • I truly think it is just a "mild" form of brainwashing.

  • 0:30 - the fundamental difference between "believers" and "nonbelievers" is whether or not they were indoctrinated as children. Secular homes raise secular children. I can only speak from my experience (I can imagine this might happen), but secular parents don't "push" or "force" their child to be an atheist. It's a byproduct of just not teaching a child theology (OH NO!), which is a good thing because who you want to be as an adult in the world is best decided when you are actually an adult.

  • What's the purpose of God?

  • control over the sheeple

  • Awakener7, I mean Penguinlover51, is it really a coicidence, do YOU think, that you need to post on your own martial arts videos in a false guise, telling yourself you're super and knock out chaps in pubs... and that you also fantasise about being one of God's chosen ones? Of course, every religious person with a flagging ego thinks that they are more special than others. Are you making the connection? You USE God to make yourself feel special, not for any spiritual reasons. Sad, actually.

  • you are another example of why religion isn't true.

  • Come on, thats the "No True Scottsman" fallacy, saying "true" christian sets a standard for others to achieve that is not involved with what the original term describes. Christian, one who accepts/believes/worships jesus christ as their "lord and savior". Not extra rules that each little sect of christianity use to differentiate themselves from other types of christianity. Dont be a disingenuous ass.

  • So I wiped my arse today and guess what I found? yep you guessed it. Our lord and savior Jesus Christ right there on my toilet paper. I found Jesus. I figured you would all like to see it so I framed it and it's on it's way to the vatican for all to see.

  • I have studied science odinata. If you notice Science is constantly changing and is simply a bunch of theories or guessess people like best. The Big Bang was simply a guess that scientists came up with for an explanation of the creation of the universe. Science is not reliable for one scientist can have a thory that people accept but then some other guy has another and they like it better. How can the first one no longer be true? how do we know this new one isn't true either? simple huh?

  • science is fact not belief. If someone can prove one fact wrong then the books change. that includes the bible

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I was much more hopeless for the 18 years that I was a "Christian". As soon as I realized the truth, I have had much more purpose in life.

  • Religious zealots have an extreme amount of dimwitted comments about how anyone who doesn't believe in the stupid fairytale BS that evangelicals are shoving down our throats must be an atheist.

Have you ever even studied science? Has there ever been any mention of an "accident"?

  • I am an atheist and I do not need faith. I do not know if the universe was created "by accident" and I do not know how it all started. I have heard many theories that sound plausible and many that sound totally implausible. Being "certain" about the start of the universe is the curse of the religious, and yes it requires faith because there is nothing else supporting it.

The only thing I can say with any certainty is that the universe is very old because thats what evidence shows.

  • no athiests reject god and religion. they do not subscribe to any belief that the world was created in one way or another. also tell me. if time is infinite then an infinite number of events are possible. therefore there is a 100% chance that in infinite time the world would come into existance. basic logic my friend

  • Im an atheist and I don´t believe that.

  • The purpose of life is to end

    Have a nice day

  • RAmen

  • Who cares about all this? We're all gonna die soon anyway. Have a nice day, buttcracks!

  • I read "The Purpose Driven Life", then later it occured to me, why must I have purpose in life beyond just living my life, doing my best, and helping others when I can? It's as if Christians feel guilty about being alive and doing normal every day things without some cosmic purpose which we have to figure out in order to be happy.

  • Life doesen't need a purpose.

  • Well a theist's purpose is actually God's purpose, and if we use their logic we have to ask where God get's his purpose.

If their God indeed made it up himself then why can't our purpose be our own as well? Can't my purpose be my own?

  • God exists outside of time and space... he needs no purpose giver.

There theists, saved you the trouble.

  • Best description box I have ever read!

  • Christianity makes you into another drone for a "superior being". Being an atheist, I have free will and can evaluate the world around me using my own rational thought and make choices based on my analysis. This puts me in control of my own life. And that is not depressing at all. :) I've enjoyed your videos.

  • It also puts you in control of other peoples lives if you can manipulate the system they live by. Religions change with the times and people still follow them... do people even know what religion is? lol

  • yeah, religions are constantly changing, adapting... and new religions are forming. Christianity is actually a very new religion in comparison with most.

So it's surprising that people look to something so changing for answers about life's deepest questions.

  • religions are only changing so they can stay in power, they're "answers" remain the same

  • i like what you wrote on the video description. makes a lot of sense to me

  • It takes just as much faith(which atheists seem to hate), to believe in God than to not. The atheist viewpoints are all faith-based, which were accumulated in their minds throughout their lives -- and these thoughts, or persuasions, or indoctrinations, lead the atheist to spit on the image of God. I pity the atheist. God bless you all.

  • Wrong! It doesn't take any Faith to be an Atheist, what so ever!

I would take stone cold fact over faith any day of the week!

  • But it's not up to us to disprove God existance, it's up to you to prove that he is real!

If there is no logical evidence for something, it doesn't take any faith at all to not believe it!

Does it take more faith not to believe the Loch Ness Monster than to believe in it?

  • You say it takes just as much faith to believe in your personal God than to not. If that was true then you don't know. If you don't know why are you so reved up?

It's like you are saying "it takes as much faith to believe in leprechauns as to not, oh leprechauns loveyouforever you are my bff's I pity those who are not your friends though you might as well not exist!!!"

    It makes you sound crazy.

  • atheism is only the disbelief in a god or gods, absolutely nothing more or less...anything more is of the individual's personality traits...who happen to be an atheist

  • see maybe god gave you a job fight out aganist religion to test peoles faith and give you something to do and in the end he will make you part of his kingdom. That comment was in a friendly matter!?

  • haha sure why not. It's silly but at least your not being mean... Finally! A true christian! I think everyone should be like you! (that wasn't sarcastic by the way)

  • I just don't think that it ends...you're just gone. I am here now, so what would stop me from continuing? We must go somewhere.

  • For a lot of believers, Atheists must be hopeless and sad because they don't have an ivisible sky-daddy loving and looking out for them. I'd much rather have real people love me because I (at least try not to be) an asshole, and know that anything that happens to me is my own fault. I have to watch where I'm going.

  • I love his logic, however, I still disagree with it. I want to show this video to my priest and ask why we have to pretend. I must find out what is correct.

  • What do you disagree with?

  • Atheism (as we know it) has only been around since Darwin, while Christianity was written 2000 years ago. I'm not saying I believe all things in the bible really happened, however, there are so many TV shows and instances where people die and come back and remember somewhat of a heaven, or ghosts. Ghost stories seem to occur very often, and witnesses who were atheistic say they now believe. It just seems there's a lot of proof supporting both sides. I'll probably remain Christian my entire life.

  • Also, "It just seems there's a lot of proof supporting both sides."

There really isn't anything "supporting" atheism because it isn't really a thing itself. Theism is belief in god. Atheism is a lack of belief in god. I assume by, "supporting" atheism you merely mean the gigantic quantities of arguments against theism.

  • Yeah you're right. That's what I mean. But hypothetically speaking: atheists are totally correct and nothing exists outside our universe. I'd rather be deludedly hopeful and die into the Earth happy than knowing I've nothing to live for when I die.

  • That's pascals wager. Since there's no guarantee that your god is THE god, pascals wager only gives you a pitifully marginal chance of getting into your afterlife of choice, assuming that all gods are at least relatively equal in likelihood. Given the amount of useful evidence for any of them (ie, none really), that's pretty much the case.

Besides, why would atheism make you depressed? You were dead for countless years before you were alive. How bad was it?

  • Pascal's Wager.

    Failed logic.

  • I think living for an eternity is hell. A mortal life just has so much more meaning.

  • Argumentum ad antiquitatem.

    More failed logic.

(sry, im not picking on you, im tryin to be constructive)

    Free your mind

  • I don't think you can claim atheism has only been around since Darwin, i'm sure many have had their doubts in the past but have probably been supressed.

You can't use TV shows as a basist for support in the thiest life view. You must remember that they are entertainment. Even when called 'reality' TV all it wants is high ratings and i have seen some of these shows and they dont actualy show anything. None of these instances have ever been proved so are certainly not "proof" of anything.

  • True, but I was saying atheism as we know it. And true. But they're showing something on those shows.

It's the witnesses that speak afterward. It's the amount of stories you can hear from people who have turned to God, or died in the ER and were miraculously revived. That's where my basis is.

You're right, they are simply interested in the ratings.

  • Atheism has only been around since Darwin??????

    BULL.......SHIT!!!!!!

Sorry, but that is one of the most craziest statements I have ever heard!

  • Read you Jackass! I said atheism, AS WE KNOW IT. Not just atheism period.

  • sorry but darwin didnt believe this he even said this is possible not true

  • I agree with your logic, very sound. I would rather die, than live forever.

  • People shouldn't be scared of death. Personaly i think that the reality of death is far more beautiful than say the Christian idea. When we die, instead of leaving the Earth forever we become a new part of it.

As matter cannot be made or destroyed, this means that even after our deaths we are still a part of this world as our atoms become new things. Every breath we take carries atoms our ancestors breathed before us. This is far more beautiful than going to live in a cloud for eternity.

  • I define my own purpose daily. Some days I have no purpose at all, except keeping the bed warm and watching M*A*S*H re-runs.

Other days, I actually make a difference.

Praying to an invisible being to avoid hell-fire serves no purpose and is selfish in nature.

  • @TheOtherSide100 Amen brother. I love this comment. I can see why so many others do as well :-)

  • @TheOtherSide100 anything man does contrary to the will of God is selfish in nature

  • @togowack "anything man does contrary to the will of God is selfish in nature"

Well if God would like to show up and tell me what his will is I'd be happy to comply.

    Not happening anytime soon obviously.

Anyway if God is setting an example as written in the Bible he's the absolute PILLAR of selfish behavior... arrogant, vain, homocidal, vengeful... just the worst example of immoral behavior that can be imagined.

He can go fuck himself as far as I'm concerned.

  • As far as spirit goes... it is God, the mind, the soul. It has many names and is apart of all things. It is a mystery, a paradox, a contradiction. It is the ties that binds all living things in all dimensions and realities. Spirit is what binds the soul/mind to the body. The life force. When spirit is gone, the mind/soul goes away, and we have to use machines to keep the body alive.

  • Can you prove this spirit in ANY way?

  • Nope, I can't prove it. And for me I don't need to. I just know it, and feel it, and I've learned to trust my instincts and intuitions. I may not have it all right, but I feel I am on the right track, so to speak. The universe is infinite, and full of infinite possiblities and potential. Why limit them.

  • I accept and respect your views.

I'd never dare to completely exclude any possibility.

My view is that I don't want to limit myself by believeng in such a special form of god if there is not enough evidence to support it.

I hope you know what I am trying to say.

Thanks for the great conversation, btw.

  • We are energy, concious living energy bound to atoms and Dna. We know thoughst are reflected as electricity in the brain, but we don't know what thought energy is, yet. We have no way to measure and idea or epiphany or perception, it just is. Energy always recycles, nothing is wasted in nature. And that energy has a source, a place of oneness and singularity. Can we claim to know the mind of an ant? So the idea of a soul and reincarnation makes sense, to me at least.

  • There is energy yes, but there is no proof for an energy, that is different to the normal energy we know.

There is no evidence, that this energy just jumps on to another living thing.

There is no evidence that anything survives the death of the brain.

  • I get you, I just don't agree. That is where faith comes in. I know...I hate saying it but its ture. I just feel it and know it in my heart. Just like I know that most peoples definitions of these things are wrong, religions have it wrong, and atheists have it wrong and I am sure I have some aspects wrong, but thats the point to an idea, its meant to grow. A lot of things I need proof for, but there are a few things I do not.

  • I don't believe it effects us directly. In that I am a deist. Do we directly effect the cells and microbs on our body? We don't pass judgment on our micro-organisms on our body. Its the same with God. It simply is. It is energy, concious energy that grows and learns and renews. We are apart of it, and help it become more through the things we learn. I believe in reincarnation, and that our souls are a piece of God. and we are here to learn and grow and become more, and help all life to do it too

  • Thats kinda how my ideas run. But then again not. I think its a paradox honestly. Its like the singularity theory. To me "God" is real and yet not real. It is matter, and anti-matter, and the void. Its male, female, both and neither, all at once. It is time and exists outside time. It is both infinite and finite. It simply is. Its being. The eternal present. Its what was, is, will be, and never was. It created the multiverse and the multiverse created it. Its the living contradiction.

  • SO your god is actually everything?

    The entire universe?

    Is this god self-conscious?

  • idk. how could I? would it matter? I don't whorship it or anything. I simply acknowledge it, respect it, and give thanks for life. As long as your a good person, and send out positive, creative energy that helps all life around you to evolve what does it matter what you see the universe as. But sadly thats just me, and not the majority.

  • Yes, but how can you claim that something exists, if you can't even say what it is.

I am all in favor of being a good person, but I don't know of a reason why this should be bound to a god of any sort!

  • How can we say love exists, if you can't really say what it is? It's something you know, you feel, you experience and it is different for each person. While its true that you don't have to believe in "God" ( I don't like that word, but have nothing better. Maybe just The Spirit) in order to exist or to be a good person, it seems to me that the fact that their is even a question of this sort, and with all the differing definitions of IT, that it has to have some truth to it.

  • Love is a mental construct, not something that really exists.

It is a word that describes certain emotions (reactions of the brain, I know this sounds harh, but thats what it is).

    What is "Spirit"?

  • If that were true about love then it wouldn't build the connections it does. It would bridge no gaps nor change people the way it does. Love is so much more then that, it is forever becuse it is a force, and energy and a state of being. The feeling of love produces reactions in the body, but the reaction is not love, it is a reflection of its presence.

  • Love builds connections, because we are "made" to reproduce and without those bonds our reproduction would not be effective enough.

Please don't understand this wrong, I love philosophy and I love big words.

I just have to show the scientific side of the issue.

  • Also, since every culture in the world has believed in this Idea of a higher power, that should be proof enough that something is there. Atheism is pretty new, but I do think it will be a driving force in redifining God, Soul, and Society. And also get rid of religion. Religion is the only evil in the world, it is the cause/driving force behind all that has gone wrong. We need a reformation, and re-evaluation, and redifinement of humanity and God and our place in the Infinte Multiverse.

  • "Also, since every culture in the world has believed in this Idea of a higher power, that should be proof enough that something is there."

    NO!!!

    This is so horribly wrong!

the majority is not necessarily right.

Many Buddhists for example don't believe in any god.

They believe in some weird unproven stuff, but no god.

Even if all people would believe in the same god, that would not make it true.

    You need evidence!

  • No, you need no evidence. Perception dictates realities. So if everyone believed in the same thing, it would make it true. Atheists need proof for everything, and miss the eveidence in etween the lines. Cold logic is just as damning as passionate irrationality. Also God is just a word, to me, and an inaccurate one at that, for the living universe. For nature. I do not follow any religious idea of divinity, in fact "God" is not a god at all. It is the One Mind of the Universe. Sentience is proof

  • "So if everyone believed in the same thing, it would make it true."

Why don't you believe in Hindu??

If I don't perceive it, that would mean it does not exist for me?

  • Yes it would. The power of the mind to deny is very strong. And if you get a big group of people to believe it, its that much more powerful. As far as other religions, pagan or otherwise, their deities are all aspects of the one. They are all DIVINE and therefore the same thing. That is what I meant by never really knowing "God". How can we trully know infinity? I do not believe in a God per say, its just the eaisiest term to use that people recognize. The One is all, and the All are one. Nature

  • Are you a pantheist or panentheist?

  • Idk. I've never heard of that term what is it? I don't define my spirituality. I do not believe in most peoples definition of "God" or spirit. I took all the good ideas from all religions, filtered it through science and how physics and nature works, and came to my own ideas and conclusions. They, my ideas, can always change and evolve. Like I said I agree with atheists on most things, except that there is a a Spirit in and of all living things.

  • A pentheist is a person who believes, that nature is god and a panentheist is a person who believes that God is nature plus one.

  • Why can't God be something we can never really know or understand? I agree with atheists on alot of points, but the only thing I agree with theists is that there is a Higher Conciousness/being/entity/force that is apart of everything. You can call it God or Nature or The Force but just because we have the interprataions of it wrong don't mean it isnt real. It is simply the organism that is the Multiverse. It is natural, not divine. There is no such thing as holiness, and religion is evil.

  • "Why can't God be something we can never really know"

If you can't know yur god, how dare you make a claim, that he exists or even tells you things!

If you can't know him, you can't claim that he exists!

  • Atheists are usually people who enjoy knowledge. They find solace in the fact that they know what's right.

  • How funny you are and this video don't care either way...I do not believe in the spaghetti monster..so I do not even waste time trying to refute it....I wonder why you people try so hard....or maybe there is something to this religion ....who knows...all this time and effort in trying to disprove a myth....wow people are Lame...go out and live your lives....;

  • I like to think of my non-religious views like this: life is a miracle, it just took alot longer than creationism would have you think.

  • I don't know why, but listening to you I remembered a quote I once heard; the world is imperfect, and that is why it is beautiful.

  • Oh, you want to understand believers? Easy, they are in a cult. Totally brainwashed into believing they are worthless scum without their god to make them perfect. That is why they will say anything to defend their faith. Logic wont work on them. They must be deprogrammed.

  • For me personally, I think all religions have the definitions of God wrong. I think God is so beyond our comprehension, that there is no definition for it. It is not some magical super-power. It is simply the organism that is the multiverse, the mind of the singularity. God is infinite and is therefore everything, every idea of divinity, every idea of deities and demi-gods, even the idea of God's non-existence. They are all aspects of the whole, refractions of the singularity, of the super mind.

  • I think we need are reformation of what God and spirit is. I think atheist's have it wrong, and I think most theists have it wrong. They both compartmentalize things that are infinite and ephemeral, aspects of the multiverse that are eternal cycles of growth, evolution, and renwal. And I know our purpose! We are here to learn, grow, and evolve so we can expand across the multiverse, help life to grow and evolve. And so we can become Gods in a sense, so we can reach the singularity and be one.

  • shut the fuck up you goddamn hippie... if we are to evolve go work for same sex marriage to be allowed and weed to be legal goddammit

  • Giggles* I love how you reply to something written over a month ago. Hehe, just because the depths of your being go no further then your face, don't get all angry at me for speaking a universal truth you obviously can't conceive. TTYN lol.

  • Everyone on earth is an atheist. Do you believe in Zeus? Mithras? Parameshvara? Ek Onkar? Aten? Yahweh? Ahura Mazda? Allah? Ra? Tengri? Fūjin? Jesus? Bai-Ulgan? Hina? Epona? Hadúr? Shennong? Baki? Kumiho? Tonatiuh? Nana Buluku? You better pick the right one! Oh wait, I forgot... YOU of course KNOW which is the right one! All those others are rubbish, and all those other people are eternally damned. But not YOU of course...

  • Isn't Yahweh the christian god?

  • Great video!

  • I wish the atheist could open they're eyes. when someone argues for something logical and theistic like th peanut butter man it is branded mysticism or rote doctrine. While an unfounded atheist or ant-theist argument is logical because it's touted as age of enlightenment thinking. Just because something is spirital doesnt make it superstition. I'm glad youtube is moving towards being a legitimate forum of religuitus debate

  • ...His argument was the opposite of logical. You fail on that point alone.

  • The peanut butter guy didn't take into account that peanut butter doesn't have the RAW material needed to make life or that the heat in the jar is not enough energy to recombine matter. And youtube, like the government, is secular. If you want a purely religious forum, look elsewhere.
