  • I don't understand where this entire notion that the US benefited from iraq's oil came from. We never had a monopoly on Iraq's oil - it was put on the global market and bought by the highest bidder, just like under saddam. Nothing changed. The idea that the US seized iraq's oil is just a convenient reason used by many on the left to oppose the war. There are many reasons to oppose the war, I myself did, but this particular rationale is simply not based on reality.

  • Still valid, after all these years ....

  • jean4you ur as damb as a donkey its self

  • Could not find better words!! Thanks. I also like to say that blind guys like those are RUINNING AMERICA not Iraq or immigrants! Btw jeanstupid4me, what about Iraq and sept 11???? Stop with porn and go read a bit son.

  • Thank you for your comment. People are not evil because of their religious beliefs. And the Iraqis had NOTHING to do with the attack on the Trade Center.

  • @MichelGriffin That's because, as everyone knows, it was the Jews that did 9/11.

  • Cool.

  • Love and light, Michel! Jeremy/Poitin

  • Great job Michel, I would Like to dream of a day when there will be NO more wars,No more innocent civillians just trying to survive and live their lives being slaughtered. I wish that when war was declared only the top leaders had to fight it saving all the Billions for the poor and starving of the world, and the troops could stay home with their families all except a few referees from each side smiling at each other in friendship of course.I bet there would be a sharp decline in wars then.

  • Brilliant idea, WesternRock! Can't see the current crop of self-serving politicos voting it in, though!

  • this is so moving, i am speechless.....great song michel......sherry lee

  • Hi, good stuff!! Jo Keers

  • Great Video Michael, but even greater song Russian Dolls in Dminor I beleive. Wow those secondary dominants of the progression fit like a glove. The lyrics also fit. This song is as well put together and performed as those Russian Dolls. Thanks for letting me know. Will tell my friends. Your a great songwriter. Roland Bowman

  • What a powerful visual and verbal (not to mention, musical) commentary on this ongoing disaster. I'm a huge fan of Michel Griffin's work, and this is some of his very best to date!

  • Good video!

  • Very powerful video Michel. Perhaps we can not stop all the multi leveled games, but perhaps we can start a new game. ...each one start...taking responsibility in small ways for their inner and outer peace - to help us move from frozen disbelief and fear to a space of understanding and love for humanity.

With your video you are taking the step as an artist, and I thank you.

May we continue to strive for peace and balance and understanding.

    In gratitude.

    Kara

  • Hey Michel, What a fantastic video. Also a tremendous ammount of work must have went into making it. Congratulations on giving us such a great message.

    All the best to you,

    Morris

  • If only we could get folks like Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Wolfowitz to digest this video, and Michael Griffin's songs. Thanks to YouTube--citizen journalism indeed-- for getting it out to the public...The Truth may not set us free but at least his video can wake some people up. Many Thanks.

  • Michel

Congrats..one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. You must have invested a lot of time and energy.

    All the best.

    Clem

  • Michel

A truly wonderful song with profound, heartfelt lyrics and a very thought provoking accompanying video. But we also need to be reminded how poorly the returning military personnel are treated by the American and British authorities.

    Geoff

  • Your song is outstanding. But your video implies, strongly in places, that the soldiers are committing atrocites against the Iraqi citizens. I notice you showed no pictures of the homicide bombers who are killing 100's of their own nationals EVERY DAY.

Ever been to war? I have. I have fought, bled and killed for your right to protest. Are you your own convictions that strong? I doubt it.

  • I'm all for the message, the song and vid are well made and the lyric well-written. But it does sound a lot like First We Take Manhattan, without the same authority.

  • Michel; You have done it again! Another incredible song and an amazing video. I hope this goes to number one. I don't believe in war, of any kind, so I can agree with you that war is pointless and a game like you said. barefootmama

  • I had a cousin just came back from Iraq.I believe this is very thought provoking.Makes us really wonder what the truth is.We live in a very wicked World.I still don't think it gave anybody the right to kill all those people in the twin towers. Can't justify that in the least.Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning.Vengence belongs to God but if someone ever killed my family I think being human I would seek revenge. But where does it end.Hate is strong but love is stronger.

  • Michel.. Russian Dolls..excellent video, you really articulated the realities of the iraq war. Such a waste of lives over greed & immoralilty. Outstanding production, music & pictures are awesome!

We are in total agreement with your statement made here, seems its taking the rest of the world longer to see the light...

    Peace through music..~ES~

Looks like a great one for Neil's site! ;)

  • Thanks Ron, for putting it so succinctly! (With due acknowledgement, of course, to Samuel Johnson, and the bard Dylan ..!)

    All the best,

    Michel

  • @MichelGriffin Dylan of course being a Jew whose actual name is Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham. I guess we can keep him. Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham is a pretty cool guy, eh plays the guitar and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • Michel, once again you've produced an excellent video. The message is sincere and truthful. Unfortunately, some refuse to see it and call us unpatriotic. As the saying goes "Patriotism is the last resort, to which all scoundrels cling. Steal a little, and they'll put you in jail. Steal a lot, and they'll make you king".

  • Nicely put together Michel
