  • A historic Telle is reborn: Pre-punk staccato king, Wilko, gets his axe back! Makes ya Feelgood, Dr.!

  • priceless

  • Just goes to prove there is only one true route to a road worn guitar. There is no mythology here, just a well used tool and the master craftsmen who holds it

  • ... I'd give anything for that...

  • i saw a documentary about a year ago in which wilko said he wouldn't part with the guitar not even for £20,000.But then why would he with all the history and memories wrapped up in it.To him it's not just an instrument it's his whole life.I would also bet that there is collectors out there who recognise the importance of such instruments who would pay more than the £20,000 stated.

  • what kind of telecaster is that?

  • @nachowill95 US MODEL SERIE L

  • @The170460 merci!

  • 6:04の人ウィルコなの?!

  • On the subject of artists and paintbrushes.

Dr feelgood made a career out of mythologising everything they came into contact with; Canvey Island, oil refineries, boozers, bastard suits etc.

Wilko's tele is just another part of the story.

I'd have been very disapointed if he'd been playing some sparkly new acrylic finish guitar when I saw him live.

Music is also a highly visual as well as aural experience.

This why someone like Hendrix wiped the floor leaving Eric Clapton a very sad man,

  • what a great vid... supported Dr Feelgood a few times... timeless band

  • at the end i love the leter when he says hi phillipe thank you for fixin' my tele...thats wilko

  • Guitar porn!! Great video.

  • I just hope Wilko realises he could have bought a brand new tele for 849 UK pounds.....

  • @incongra thats not the point, that guitar has more soul than you could ever understand.

  • @kona6495 It is only a domestic appliance, like a washing machine or something. It will have a 6- digit serial number. the art is in the performance, NOT in a mass produced american consumer item.

  • @incongra how can you say a guitar is like a washing machine.... a musical instrument is not an appliance. obviously you just dont get the whole idea. a guitar of that age has alot of memories wrapped in it. so hes not about to go and let go of it is he.

  • @kona6495 You're right. Of course you're right. And having listened to the Feelgoods for a very long time, I fully realise the significance of this particular instrument. All I'm saying is, let's not make the paintbrush as important as the artist.

  • @incongra "... just like a washing machine..". incongra, you are sooo right. This is plainly a disposable appliance like any of the white goods in the kitchen. This guitar is clearly worn out. Why not throw it out and buy a new one? Seriously, Argos seem to sell guitars like this for less than £200. Why pay £849 as you suggest. Crazy?

  • @sovereignofnebadon Agreed, there are a lot of people worshipping the paintbrush instead of the artist around here.

  • A true guitar great who has better things to do than spend hours polishing it, that`s who lets their guitar get like that!

  • where's wilko's guitar been? buried in some field for 30 years! WTF no one lets there guitar get like that.

  • har rört den! en svart härlig 57:a

  • WOW! Great to find this- Wilco is one of my hero's...and it was fantasic to see you scatter winding that pick up Phillipe!

  • Mick Green????

  • Roxette!! tune

  • Nice guitar. But crappy music.

  • My tele doesn't need that kind of repair, yet. Great video!

  • Wow the master of the Telecaster gets back on the road and a French person did something usefull for once! It's too much in one video!

  • John Wilkinson is awesome

  • This is just great!! A thousand thanx for posting! Wilco..= GUITAR GOD!!

  • Imagine having that job,,

  • Awesome. Wilko kicks ass!

  • Wliko-Tastic!!!! Great to see some close ups of that Tele. Brilliant! Keith

  • whats playing at at 3.39

  • "Back in the Night" from the Feelgoods' second album, Malpractice.

  • Philippe you are amazing! I recommend you! See you soon

  • Next week Bill Kirchen's steampower Tele!

  • ROX-ETTE!

  • what song is this?!

  • which one?

  • Roxette, Dr Feelgood

  • Fascinating! Always wondered how guitars got restored.

  • Wilko has done some graet stuff recently with Steve Hooker

  • ROCK ON FOREVER WILCO

  • WILKO with a K...

Not wilco like that other band.

WILKO is the anaagraam...for Kilwo...(not his real name)

  • Looks like that guitar hasn't been restored in quite a while. :P Sturdy things, the Telecasters.

  • Respect to Wilko. Respect to Phillipe. :-)

  • I've got a '63 tele that I bought new. Bet it's just as sweet as Wilko's.

  • that looks like a really nice guitar to play

  • Renaissance-like master repairman for a master musician, bravo!

The Best tone !!!

  • Tiene hasta legañas la guitarra esta, que grande es el pajarraco este

  • GOOD JOB~~!

  • Amazing guitarist, saw him 3 or 4 + times in London, Cambridge and somewhere else.... Feelgood were never the same after he left! Great technique and one of the British guitar greats, along with Adrian Borland and Zal Cleminson and a few others.

  • The Strummer Tele is a great guitar and could easily be modified to look like Wilko's. The sound and set up would be very similar. The originals are probably of a similar vintage. Joe's famous IAO Tele was a standard sunburst '66 sprayed black with a rosewood fingerboard.

  • Beautiful. Very, very interesting clip. Thank you.

  • Thanks for posting this. Yeah, I wonder why it got so beat up.

  • Brilliant, thanks for sharing.

  • He does it right !

  • haha nice

  • What a responsibility - great job!

  • if i was wilko i wouldn't let anyone touch it - such an iconic guitar - why don't fender make a signature model, it would ne much better then the joe strummer one

  • so cool VID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Long live Wilko's Tele!!!

  • VIVA LA TWANG!!!! is right

  • amazing! Didn't ever imagine such a famous instrument would ever end up in such a state tho...

  • Epic, thanks for sharing this with the world! Viva le Twang!
