  • Guess he just got...

    TOASTED LIKE A BAGEL

  • That's the thing I love about Monfils, he's just there to enjoy playing and entertain people.

And he's bloody good at it, too.

  • I saw an exhibition match with Monfils about a month ago...he played offense against Isner for all two sets and it was amazing to see..I know an exhibition match doesn't count..but it was so surprising to see someone that you're use to counter punching, just completely play the opposite and more or less roll over his opponent...if he played like that and in the above video normally, he'd win more games...

  • 0:34 look where he was serving from LOL

  • i was watching this with runescape in the other tab and it sounded epic

  • Listen to the English commentators, so fucking arrogant - they called it "a good comeback", it was a wicked comeback you twats. Everytime I watch tennis on BBC they're literally stuck up the British players' asses. Monfils played brilliantly in the second set, yet the English commentators still manage to compliment the completely shit Murray. He's shit and will never win a slam - he's a pusher.

  • I really like Monfils and he honestly is my favorite player to watch but the things that kill me is that he plays way to defensivley. He has the strength, athleticism, and skills to win majors but things like him not putting away points, playing really far behind the baseline, always returning shots into the middle of the court, and not coming up to the net when he should is what kills him in many tournaments.

  • Monfils does need to hammer it down, because if he did, there would be nothing he couldn't do. But all props to Murray, though, because Murray's got some serious wheels and anticipatory skills.

  • What is with all the cute volleys? This is not an exhibition match. Monfils needs to put those volleys away.

  • serve at 0:34, where is he serving from?

wider angle i know, but so much more predictable in terms of direction

    very entertaining though

  • @foul01

Probably just mental play. Easy angle out wide ofc but his stance had murray thinking outside the box guessing the serve would be down the centre. Just tennis.

  • why do people prefer monfils to murray??? people moan about murray being a counterpuncher, but if anything monfils is more of one!

  • @indyk91

thats because murray does not play to the crowd as monfils so often does

and then theres all the hype about murray a future wimbledon winner, that kind of talk tends to tick people off

monfils is french but very rarely anyone would say he is the future french open champion

its not so much murray's fault, ppl just hate him because of the english fans

  • @foul01 No, people hate Murray because he's a cocky prick and a sore loser.

  • The serve @ 0:35 .... XD

  • this guy is absolutely nuts!! even in this set, there were a few points where he could have won it on a smash but instead played dinky cute little volleys which allowed Murray back into the point.

I like him better when he's crushing forehands and making slide passing shots!

  • @fbinsulation

I agree, more fun when he plays behind the baseline and making sick shots,

  • @fbinsulation

sometimes it seems monfils doesn't want to win the point, he just plays for fun. thats what i like about him.

in my opionion he's by far the most entertaining player at the moment. he plays many different shots and shows alot emotions. but with his talent he could easily reach a grand slam final.

  • What a pointless video, every game was close and Murray just gave up after the second break and won the final set easily. Murray often tanks sets to make sure he'll be ready to win the final set which he almost always does.

  • @Rafathaman94 look i dont mind monfils dancing around and getting the crowd going because as well as that hes got fantastic sportsmanship, and respects all his opponents when the match is done - thats what i like about a player; one thats got respect for one another; not like faggot murray. IMO, him dancing about is not at all meant to show arrogance or any harm to his peer across the net, even tho some peeps may think it is.

  • goddamnit, why doesnt monfils always play like this. he would be so much the better now if he was consistent with it.

  • loool

  • Murray duracel

  • I hope Monfils realizes that is more than necessary for him to really work on his approach shots and net play if he wants to win more titles and improve as a player..He should play more doubles and attack instead of grinding away 5 feet behind the baseline.

he might avoid injuring himself too if he does

  • @timafi

Well look at the video again and see where he ends most of the points....at the net

  • @RFmeastro he did in that set but he should do int from that to finish.Hope you get my point

  • @timafi

Yeah, I get it, you are right. But Monfils will never be a agressive player.

  • @RFmeastro well I hope Rashid instills that in him.He has to learn to be aggressive

  • @RFmeastro yes, thats exactly what pisses me off about him. i like the guy, but hes not aggressive enough. in this bagel beatdown by monfils, this is how he should always play. hes got a huge enough game to close off points fast.

  • @RFmeastro i think we are all surprised to see monfils attacking the net so much, Even murray, that explains the 6-0 to the world numer 4 ....

But we may also see that the net play is clearly his weak point , his volleys arent that much effective he has to play 2 or 3 instead of 1 to win the point

  • Can you upload the point where he does the diving volley?

  • @J0NK0NIK

no, he lost the point, I dont want to upload :D

  • YES! although he lost :(
