you could get a black inspiron desktop with a quad processor with ati graphics and a 22" moniter for half the price of a mac

well, what mac? and does that come with leopard? can you make iphone games on it? run unity 3D? spaces? time machine? stacks? a dock? pro presenter? etc? I don't think so.... you pay for quality.... just don't buy that ram they got lol.... or HDD for that matter, but leopard utilizes the power of the computer better than windows... windows 7 fixes that to a point but... still not as good as leopard, I REALLY want a mac....

the things that I want to do on a MAC I can't do on a PC and THAT IS WHY I WANT TO GET A MAC! not because (not only*) its pretty! but the power! the programs! the simplicity! ease of use! I am very good with windows, know it like the back of my hand, its just... when a problem arises... I can but I don't want to have to fix it! I want to use my computer not fix it! yes I VERY WELL know I can get a pc for cheaper... like you can get a 1st gen cell phone for less than a new one!

plus I REALLY want to make games for the iPhone and ipod touch because the app store is just a gold mine... and your not paying much more for a mac! its like getting a car without and engine and saying *I got it for cheaper* or *I got a tux.... though it only came with the pants* do I have to go on? leopard just maeks everyday things eaiser.... and MACS hold their value.... E.G. a iBook bought 5 years ago for 700 is worth 200-500 today... a 1000 pc would be about 100 in 5 years....

and another thing, yes I know what a CPU does... BUT I don't game that much and for what I do with gaming my computer works fine... I just believe that games belong on a console rather than a computer. but yes i know what a CPU does and ram and hdd and blah blah blah... but could you give a guy who is just starting out in making videos some slack?!

Ok, I'm a proud Dell and Microsoft owner. I understand your expressing your thoughts, but there's facts. The fact is Apple Inc. only markets to 10% of businesses, the other 90% are Microsoft purchased systems. Although I will agree that Mac's are great for photo editing and video editing, Windows based computers are better at gaming, upgrading or customizing, price, performance and etc. There's only one issue I have with Mac and that's the ideology that looks reigns over performance.

Yeah, Not really though Mac is meant for media not number crunching. Yes, I have proved this before because my computer teacher said Mac can compile scripts faster then a Microsoft unit with the same specs. Guess who won The Windows system by about 20 sec. That is sad. It was a basic C++ GUI script. MAC IS BUILT ON IT AINT IT?!?! AND LOOK windows makes them faster! I also have OSX 10.5.4 on my DELL XPS so I get more power for the money Core 2 Ex (QUAD) Mac charges you so friggin much for that

Okay well I have both an XPS M1210 AND a XPS M1730. My 1730 has an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Extreme X9000(2.8GHz)(Quad Core) and I also have NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce®8800MGT. I would LOVE to see a mac beat thos specs... you dont even have Blu-Ray cap. on a mac... As the studio does. The Intel Core 2 is multicore so unless you are a hardcore gamer I would get the studio. Mac just does not have enuff bang for the buck for me... I want POWER for money and the 1730.. that does the trick... :]

apple computers are suckky crash problems and some other problems vista x64 is faster about 15 sec boot less if you got a ssd drive... like me its about like 10 sec but apple comps suck and there ipods and mp3 players and their phone are awesome best prouducts in world... duh.. exept the computers they give
