The sound quality in this video is enhanced. They put it on the DVD so they were able to do so. You can even tell because sometimes the strumming didnt match the sound. Still the best sound wise. Wish they made him sound like this on albums

Blink 182 had many hit songs. Mark did not write all of them. However, he was a better songwriter than bass player, and that is undeniable. You need proof that he's bad? Listen to any of their songs. Playing straight eights is not hard. In fact, it takes next to no skill whatsoever. He himself has admitted that he is a bad bass player. Punk rock is generally quite an easy genre of music to play on any instrument. Playing the songs he writes is a lot easier than sitting down with a blank page and starting to write the riffs he does. Blink's style of music is simple to the point of boring? I'd quite agree. Blink 182 is not punk rock, so that excuse is somewhat weak. Even if they were punk, they don't have to write incredibly simplistic parts. Punk can be more than 4 power chords. I simply don't understand how you think its hard to write the riffs he does.
