Let's really take a look at what Griffey did in his prime and when he did it (1996-1999). Take out all the numbers of those who cheated (JUICED!!!) and what Griffey did clean... Dominated!!! Thank you Junior thrilling us day in and day out! Thanks for the upload!
From a Cincinnati fan, Griffey was my fav playewr ever, no matter the team. He was the best there ever was because he didn't need anything to boost his performance. He was THAT good.
ken griffey jr. man i was hoping that he would beat babe ruth's records but even though he was one of the best players in history thank you jr you can leave the greatest sport in the world knowing you have accomplished something
I used to idolize jr. as a kid growing up... I had his posters plastered on my wall, had a binder full of his cards, wore my cap backwards in batting practice, and even switched my number from 24 to 30 when he got traded. As a centerfielder, I can say Griffey pushed me to be the best player at my position in any league I played in...Gonna fucking miss the kid.
What greatness. To do what he did, without the taint of sterioids. He was the last of the greatest "baseball stars''. He had swagger, and he had the talent to accompany his walk. On top of that he was a Yankee Killer who never became a pinstripe prostitute. Big part of my childhood. I still remember how I use to imitate his stance as a kid playing in the RBI league.
born and raised in Maine meant I had to stay up late to watch those games. Those are the times that I will never forget, especially the 95 ALDS. He was a good ball player but an eve better person. Never sought the limelight and never brought attention to himself off the field. Baseball will not be the same in an era where money and individuality are the motivating factors behind players actions...Thank you for the memories Grif. In Junior We Trust.

ken griffey jr and jim thome are the two most underrated power hitters of all time!!! the only time i saw griffey play live was when he daybiewed in kansas city with the whitesox..
WOW!!! Watching that video sure brought back some old old memories. Without a doubt the best swing in baseball, if injuries wouldn't have plagued him maybe the homerun record wouldn't be tainted.
Thank you SO much for putting this on! I NEVER got to see him play in person, Im only 17 and I went to a game 4 days after he retired....I really wish I would have gotten to see him.
wow amazing video ... cant believe JR has offcially retired from the game ... i thought he would play forever... truly the best baseball player to ever play the game..... it was a sad day when i heard he retired! there will never be another "THE KID"
Definitely the greatest baseball player ever, I remember the 1994 All Star game of him hitting homeruns in Pittsburgh during the home run derby, and I really wish he would of stayed healthy because he would of hit so many more homeruns, the fact that he hit 630 homeruns and did it without taking steroids and he played in the steroids era was truly amazing, and I'm glad to still have my Ken Griffey Jr baseball cards that collected as a kid
We knew he was going to retire, but we didn't know when. This was an absolute shock to have him go so soon. It makes you wish people hadn't bothered making such a fuss over the sleeping scandal that's not even true. We love you, Junior. Thanks for everything. The best there'll ever be. We will never forget you. Thank you so much for this post, man.
Thanks for uploading this! Never got to see him play in person but I'll always remember trying to catch fly balls like him when I was a kid. I'm off to play his N64 game now...
I not going to lie i cried watching this video. i have been a Mariners fan all my life and always will be. We Love you Jr hate to see you leave so soon.
@jeff10ever im a phils fan,but i too was lucky enough to grow up during juniors prime and i was always a big fan of his.still breaks my heart to think of what could have..SHOULD have been if not for all the damn injuries.greatest player of all time imo.
@jeff10ever i feel you man. i was born the day of his first homerun ever, and i hit my first homerun ever when he hit his 630th. always been a Griffey fan,
