Nice technique I've never seen. Very good video. Thanks for sharing. Cutting boards are for cutting into. Use your counter top if you are so worried about the appearance of the cutting board.
@MrAalwadie It's not dirty it's just been used alot, i wash dishes sometimes at my job and the chefs are pro and all our cutting boards look like that because they cut really fast and hard, its just indents from the knife that makes the board look dirty.
I am a kitchen rookie and I just did this on the first try with a small campari tomato..Granted not as smooth as the guy did..but it worked..yea..i need a sharper knife
HI THX 4 replies - well - I keep pointer finger extended across base of knife bc if try 2 hold like fist - is difficult 2 ctrl knife - is there a law that say I gotta use knife the way chefs do - bc if works my way - why not? except can't be fast like prof. chefs that way - things get worse bc supposed 2 hold food w/knuckles turned inward - that really messes me up - cant graduate 2 slice potato like U until get correct technique worked out & was tired when watch potato vid & more confused
Never been able to use knife properly - it's easier if hold diff - when try the right way, knife wobbly & can't ctrl food slicing.........this vid good to show how to use knife, though..........
much better than the weird way i was going about it, I wish someone had showed me this simple trick long ago. thanks!!!

How about a little bleach for your cutting board? It looks dirty from where I watch. The towel looked dirty too.

@zubia5 Im sure he is concerned with how stained you think his cutting board is. Bleach, oh that should be used on something I prepare food on!

@bermudatriangle83 Really? I don't think the pinch method makes the knife wobbly. How do you do it?
