Solo dos genios como Michel Legran y Stephan Grappelli podrían interpretar música con el más alto estilo académico y grato al oído,realmente es un banquete musicval.
Ooo, nice changes in the first chorus, M. Legrand. Mind if I borrow some of them? I didn't know Michel was such a monster piano player! Those two are cookin'!
Effortless mastery is fun to see and hear. Cool shirt, Stephane wherever you are.
onhan stephane soittanut näitä oskar petersonin trion kanssa.se siitä svengistä.- meinaan vaan mitä komppi voi saada aikaan. onhan ranskakin kyllä jazzmaa.
What always amazed me about Stephane Grapelli, outside of his uniquely beautiful artistic interpretation of the music, was just his physical ability to play the really hard and fast bars of a score as easily, tirelessly and deftly as the slower bars - this phenomenal ability stayed with Stephane into his late 80's!!!
What can one say that hasn't been said in spades? These men are the truly greatest on the planet. They have soul, and depth and sheer beauty of spirit. Am getting carried away, I know, but there is so little of all this in the mainstream of 'normal' life.
No-one could make the jazz violin talk like Stephane Grapelli. I was lucky enough to see him play live at the National Concert Hall in Dublin (early 1980s) I was a student at the time and the ticket was expensive, but I felt I had to see him.
@streetlegal008 You were right to see him, I was lucky too I saw two of his concerts in Festival hall London Wonderful! One of the concerts was his 85th. Birthday bash. superb. He was not able to stand and hit it like before but sitting with great pianist he was awesome. Georgia Brown was amazing !!!! But what was dramatic ? Half of the audience ( packed house) were young people.

two musicians that each shine like an individual sun! And I never heard the variation that starts at 3.30!!! I really adore Grappelli and love his rendition of this piece! Thank you so very much.
Was there more from this concert or they did one number?
The unequalled master of the jazz violin. A true legend amongst legends. What a great gift for jazz he had. And, Michel LeGrand on piano. A duet made in heaven !

Sans doute, deux colosses, mais, c'aurait été encore plus chouette s'ils avaient joué une composition de Legrand.

There are wonderful things in real jazz, the talent for improvisation, the liveliness, the being at one with the audience.
