I'm pretty despearet now. Does anyone know, what is the song they play during the end credits, and the scene, where Jacob finaly find out about the "ladder", and we get to see that brief fight scene between the crazy soldiers? It's some tribal, pan-flute driven ambient piece, and not "Hearing solar winds".
Hi to anyone who may know. I heard Mauric Jarre music in the movie "Something Borrowed" called Maddness, but cannot seem to locate it on YouTube. Anyone have it and care to post it? Many thanks. -Kara
I could see this movie a million times and still be amazed by it. The playing of Tim Robbins, the beauty of the pictures, both frightening and beautiful, this incredible music, the beauty of Jezebel... one of the best movies I've ever seen.
This is by far one of the best movies of all time. The images, the cinematography, and the absolutely beautiful score moved me from the moment i watched it. I saw it nearly 20 years ago and it still moves me. They will never make a movie like this again...
This flick isn't bashful and it knows exactly what it wants to say. Vicious at times, but it was necessary to get the point across. Adrian Lynne knew what he was doing. Of course Jarre's score was amazing, very effective. Incredible talents, both of 'em.
I remember watching this when it came out on video,I was about 10 at the time, didn't really understand it the first time.watched it again and I was blown away when I'd figured it out.
I'm so with you all on this one, the fact also that I'm hardly an Adrian Lynne fan but he completely knocked me on my ass with this masterpiece - sad, haunting, brilliantly written, acted (can Tim Robbins be anymore of an uber legend than he is already?!) and for my money, it contains some of the most burn-a-hole in your retina frightening images that no amount of modern CGI or OTT wanky FX can even begin to match up too.
Just a brilliant, brilliant work of art on all levels.
Oh, absolutely. I sawe this film for the first time on rental once and it blew me away completely. So sad, but strangely uplifting at the same time. Really makes you appreciate life and helps you accept death in some ways too. And I also think this is one of Maurice Jarre's finest scores too. Absolutely beautiful. Shame that it wasn't a big hit, but so many great films always suffer at the box office when up against other hits, but it only serves to make it appreciated for longer.
Very nicely edited together - I have the CD but you picked out the best of it. Like the other guy said, these excerpts from the Maurice Jarre score send shivers down your spine. Jarre was a great movie scorer.
I remember watching this movie after I had lost several close friends. I watched it to have a good cry at the ending but then I couldn't stop crying. Beautiful movie, though.
I agree. This is one of the most underrated (and most frightening) films ever made. It's a shame that the public did not take to it when it was released. That year saw the release of numerous huge films - The Godfather III, Dances with Wolves, Home Alone, GoodFellas - that it was pretty hard to compete.

to Bobbengan: do you still have the mp3 for this piece? Searched the net for it and couldn't get. Would you be able to send to me if so?
Thanks
