  • My opinion is that my politicians are to detached to make good decisions for me...

  • I like Dan Ariely better The Upside of Irrationality FTW

  • and forest

  • someone teach him how to say society

  • although we're always presented with better options to ponder on.. oftentimes, the choices that we make results from our selfish motives rather than being selfless.. is this really the naked truth of survival???

  • Id like this more than I already do if Morgan Freeman was narrating or something :)

  • 13:00 I cannot stand this narrowly conceived, anti-capitalistically biased perspective on self interest. Of course it is in the self interest of people to live in a just society and treat each other fairly. And yet this idiot sits there and proclaims that people don't behave according to a "cultural norm". People are willing to pay a price to live in a society that isn't full of assholes! That is a wise investment and entirely in peoples self interest!

  • We ARE at the Crossroads. There ARE several choices.

  • Great talk. Thank you. Insightful points on bias.

  • That is why there will be world war III soon....

  • I found that when I was young I would take any gift no matter how small or large also I would give little if any during my youth cause I has little if any though people I knew would steal what gifts I was given. Now I recive little if any also give little if any also I have taught my self to give my self less than what I was giveing in the past. For say I did eat meat in my youth now I am a vegetarian ect.

  • I think he has a lovely suit.

  • @Ixpatli I disagree. Jared Diamond offers unbiased explanations of the New Guinea and Lowland Maya societies. As an anthropologist, those are the explanations I am familiar with, and I have to say I have read some of his articles and they are particularly accurate. You must be judging these people by their outward appearances, as they are intelligent and objective researchers.

  • Why was I listening to this...

  • wow.. no one said the real shocker... why did these tribes people think that there were going to be no repercussions and the trees would come back.. RELIGION.. thats why.. every single culture in this world past or present has their own religion... why is it wrong to believe that their non-existent god wouldn't have planted more trees for them? after all their god got mad and sent lightening and thunder and when it was happy is gave rain and sunshine for their food...

  • "Man Made Global Warming", "Climate Change", "AGW", etc....At this very moment I realize I am dealing with a "believer", someone whom believes in others, rather than examine something for themselves.

    LEARN-UNDERSTAND-JUDGE=REASON

  • @putittogether Who are you "dealing" with? Are you referring to the scientists in the video? Because making assumptions about people you haven't met and placing blame upon them rather than taking it for yourself is "the pot calling the kettle black". It is also unfair and not justified.

  • global warming is a sham, con and straight up LIE. the weather has been changing differently for millions of years way before even MAN! don't buy into the "GO GREEN" scams!! they're only into profiting on stupid scared people!!

  • @Jx1x3 The general thought of global "warming" is, yes, but the exponential increase in greenhouse gasses is a factor (among others) contributing to the extinction of approximately 3 species an hour, while historically the rate of extinction is about 1-2 species per year. The general term people use is "global warming" though we know that the temperature regularly fluctuates.

  • it's the ultimate festive attire!

  • hmm very interesting.

  • There is no choice. There is only reaction.

  • Comment removed

  • Santa? is that you in the middle? o.O!!!!!

  • It was "global warming" now its "man made climate change". Its hard to keep up with the LIES at National Geographic. Sad people take this nutbag organization seriously.

  • @putittogether I don't understand the point you are making. Some people call it "global warming" because overall on average the temperature around the world is going up. Some people say "man made climate change" recognizing that man is contributing to this phenomena but it doesn't only cause warming, it can have many effects depending on where in the world you are at.

I'm not sure what "LIES" you are referring to.

  • @putittogether Well, there is man made climate change because of the actions of man, like the burning of fossil fuels. We now know that the planet is not experiencing an overall warming, which is why the name has changed.

  • @SElement91 Thank you for clearing that up. You batshit crazy murdering psychopath.

  • @putittogether I'm not sure you even know what you're talking about, and if that's true how do you expect others to know what you're talking about? Haha

  • WTF he's wearing ???

  • Dear Lord, somebody made a bad wardrobe decision ...

  • @robertrahardja If I had to go to school for 21 years I'd dress batshit crazy too haha

  • @robertrahardja So an important decision has been taken by the majority of the society to comment on rather than on the topic chosen by the presenters!

  • SECOND!

  • Good to listen through.

  • 94TH

  • FiRST!
