Of course it is in the self interest of people to live in a just society and treat each other fairly. As an anthropologist, those are the explanations I am familiar with, and I have to say I have read some of his articles and they are particularly accurate. You must be judging these people by their outward appearances, as they are intelligent and objective researchers.

@Jx1x3 The general thought of global "warming" is, yes, but the exponential increase in greenhouse gasses is a factor (among others) contributing to the extinction of approximately 3 species an hour, while historically the rate of extinction is about 1-2 species per year. The general term people use is "global warming" though we know that the temperature regularly fluctuates.

@putittogether I don't understand the point you are making. Some people call it "global warming" because overall on average the temperature around the world is going up. Some people say "man made climate change" recognizing that man is contributing to this phenomena but it doesn't only cause warming, it can have many effects depending on where in the world you are at.
