This argument between piped vipers and srx's has been going on for years and years. a Tuned srx Against a tuned Piped viper and i'll have to give it to the viper. She's going to be finiky with aftermarket pipes and harsh on gas but get it dialed in right then you got yourself a machine. I Ran a Piped viper and i Ran a SRX and personally, The viper pulls harder
fullmetaljacket, Yea i agree. a Stock viper against an srx will not have a prayer. On the other hand, add a set of pipes to the viper, reeds, and good know how clutching then you got yourself a gas guzlen SRX killer
A piped Viper will not "tare the ass off of an SRX". Pipeing Vipers is the first step towards making them competitive with the SRX's. Re-clutch, re-jet, stud it and slam the suspension and you might keep up to a well set-up stock SRX on the drag strip. Maybe.
hey bud i got an 02 viper and let me tell you piped or not your not gonna "tear the ass off an srx" how do you figure hp would be dam close your right weight ya viper shaves a few pounds, but your not gonna blow them away. Now pipes, reeds, heads, gearing, clutching and you will. But a stocker with pipes will not kill an srx ive seen many love them both.
The jetting was 165,165,162.5(mag). Vipers run extremly sensitive with triple pipes. I had a couple mods on this sled such as... Vforce3 W/spacers, Ceramic coated Triple pipes(benders), Gearing, Heelclicker clutching, Holtzman Variflow(for jetting), and some EGT's to be on the safe side. (Exhaust Gas Tempature). personally the sled was Extremly fun to ride But to have a sled like this you need to devote time, paitents and money. It's a fun sled but extremly tempermental.
I don't find my SRX to be all that hard on gas at all given the fact that it's a 700 triple.....it really depends on how you ride them...if your just tourin with the fam than its no big deal at all...if your out with the boyz showin off chackin the throttle every chance you get given the fact that its a 700 carbed motor than ya it likes its gas.
I just use 160 main jets, I think that they're the richest jets made for the Viper. my plugs are a nice chocolate brown, but you have to start rich and go from there.
Thanks! The Pipe's are Great, Lots of maintnence. But once you go to the pipes you will never go back. the power and sound is amazing. Check out my other video of it. It's only 40seconds long but you get another look. can't beat a piped Triple
is this sled reilble

Fred, I recommend you to get your hands on a MBRP Race silencer Or a Bender Silencer. Triple triples require TLC(piped)

Did you clutch that viper? I have one with aaen pipes, and V force reeds, 51 Degree helix, tuned primary. No stock 800 will stand a chance.

The windsheild was a stock one i just cut down. The videos don't do much justice the sled sounds alot louder in person.
Buy a yami, they are very nice machines.
