  • It's 90mm low-pressure gun enabled it to take out virtually any make of Soviet tank employed by the Cubans in the theater; yet it was near-infinitely more mobile.

  • @l3ullshitter True... but when the Cubans took the T-62 in the theater there was no vehicle that could stop it. many of these wheeled vehicles were lost in the hands of T-62 and T-55M, but it is true.. In fact the cubans even learned from the S.A wheeled vehicles, it is well observed here youtube.com/watch?v=8m0MjObC5rM

  • Brings back memories of SSB and Angola- I was an Eland gunner in Ops Savannah, X-Ray group and used this bastard to take out many an MPLA position or vehicle.. Most memorable was after we took Luso airport the Cubans came at us with an armored caterpillar with a 108 recoilless on top..We put about 6 90mm HEAT rounds into the mother before it finally stopped...

  • @spinsurferx

Also was a gunner 1979-1980 1SSB, Katima and some other places. Once at a night shooting session at De Brug the recoil packed up and the cannon twisted into the radios sets at the back. We were too amazed even to be frightened. I'll give an arm and a leg just to have a few shots again, real pielstywe feeling when the shots thundered and rolled through the koppies, beter than any thunderstorm in my life. Today - man we are growing old and what a shit place South Africa has become.

  • They had great succes in hit and run cross boarder runs into Angola. When the South Aficans got full of themselves and thoght they could overthrow Angola with the same lightly armed force they had deployed they crossed the line and got thier buts kicked by the more heavily armed Cubans. The Cubans had not bothered with the border area.

  • Lekker ou Noddie kar!

  • ELAND 4 EVER!

  • OK - so I am posting again!!!

I still remember the feeling when firing that gun!! And the co-ax - anyone else ever managed to get the Browning co-ax to go "single shot"? (The 2SSB 1977/1978 gunners did.)

  • @KZNCritic ek se ouen - that was easy man! Only 650rpm cyclic rate it was easy to use that co-ax like a single shot sniping rifle at crazy ranges thanks to the rock solid mounting!

  • Ek onthou nog my eerste skoot - het gevoel asof die liewe Heer jou in die gesig skop.

  • Die Noddies praat LUID!!!!

  • ohh yess babyy...

Noddies all the way, ek sê.
