I tried played the modded version of the game, since I thought the upgraded graphics would help me, to follow the story and characters but I honestly, I played it on ps one and PC and I still can' t get into the game. The story and characters are missing some depth and the story seems boring to me. I honestly feel that the grandia series, Chrono series, Tales series and Lunar series were more interesting rpgs. I know, when I have to force myself to play a game, it's time to stop playing.
dunno if you still have it anymore but do you by any chance still have your ff7 with the modified char.lgp and world_us.lgp file? that's the patched one ? cuz i'm having trouble with lpg tools, don seem to beable to repack the archive with new models once i patch it according to instructions....you know the whole painful routine....
or atleast can you help me out by pointing me in the right direction? i'd really appreciate.

The funny thing is that Eidos Interactive published the PC version right? Well now this PC version is owned by Square Enix Europe since Eidos was bought by them. So basically this has always been pulished by Square I guess.

Do I just need to place the NPC Repack in with the unpacked original lgp file (into the custom made char folder) and then use the Reunion Patch followed by the lgp editor to make it into the new char lgp file? I want the main chars like Cloud and Barrett to look like the ones from the fmv. (like your vid) Cheers.

@theowlsofouterheaven no they do look like that. this is not how the look initially in the pc version, but you can apply some mods/patches to make them look like that.

Which is why this was the only way to keep the FPS normal and still show it. Now, if you would like to buy some hardware based device to record outside of the computer and takes in DVI-D input, then can be accessed by a computer and can move the data off it to the HDD and can then in turn edit and encode to whatever software one can use, kindly do so.
Though why I'm ranting at a person with only ONE UPLOADED VIDEO is beyond me. (Not to mention a retarded Simpsons video at that.)

How can you make Cloud as big as that? My Cloud is a bit small that he can only reach and press the lower button of the elevator seen in the vid. music is the PC music, I can tell, because it sounds like the PC took FF7's music( from the PS1), tied a rope around its neck, tied that to a truck, and just went driving for like 3 days with the PS1's music dragging behind it the whole time/
You keep on believing that, then. I can assure you that it is using the Ficedula PSF mod, and your speakers/ears are horrible. (Granted, it's hard to capture full quality of audio output from a digital camera using a mono based mic.)

laptop folks (myself included): get the laptop patch. it's pretty straight forward, the controls are listed on the site with the patch. when naming a character just type in the letters you want to name them, backspace if you don't want certain letters, shift if you want a capital letter, esc to finalize the name you want and then press enter to select it. p simple imo
Yo, I have a problem. I own FF7PC and is installed on a lenovos10 netbook. The catch is that when I open the game, it shows the intro credits and then it shows the screen with continue-new game. When I try to select any of those, it doesn't let me, It's like my enter key is completely broken. I can skip the intro credits if I push enter, but when I try to select it doesn't let me. Also I have FF8PC and it works perfectly. Just wanna know how to fix this or how to change controls. Please Help Me!
u havta hold the function button in the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard. to move the scroller u havta use 8 for up k for down p for left and u for right. once u get into the game u can change the configuration so u dont havta press the function button

i got a logitech dual action controller at target thats about $20, it works perfectly with emulators and its great for ff7pc because it reconizes the controller and sets the controllers to as if it were a ps1 controller. from what i knw you can't change the controllers, you NEED the number pad to control the game.
Hey thanks man I'm gonna try it, but just to eb sure, is it the only possible way or can I do recur to another solution which doesn't involve money? Not that I don't want, but still, it's always good to save some couple of bucks if what I need is in there. Also for the numpad, When I press the function button, it lets me move up and down, so in my case, the numpad isn't exactly what's wrong, or I hope so... FF7PC did something really retarted an made it so you have to use the numpad to move, so if you are using a laptop you can buy a usb numpad for like 15 bucks from like future shop or if u are using a desktop just use the numpad. hope thta helps:)

2a. Run the modified FF7Config, pick custom driver in the list of renderers, you should get confirmation that the driver is working.
3a. Change your settings in ff7_opengl.cfg

music is the PC music, I can tell, because it sounds like the PC took FF7's music( from the PS1), tied a rope around its neck, tied that to a truck, and just went driving for like 3 days with the PS1's music dragging behind it the whole time/

You keep on believing that, then. I can assure you that it is using the Ficedula PSF mod, and your speakers/ears are horrible. (Granted, it's hard to capture full quality of audio output from a digital camera using a mono based mic.)

I'm using the PSF replacement mod. It uses the actual music from the PSX version in place of the midi files.

laptop folks (myself included): get the laptop patch. it's pretty straight forward, the controls are listed on the site with the patch. when naming a character just type in the letters you want to name them, backspace if you don't want certain letters, shift if you want a capital letter, esc to finalize the name you want and then press enter to select it. p simple imo

Yo, I have a problem. I own FF7PC and is installed on a lenovos10 netbook. The catch is that when I open the game, it shows the intro credits and then it shows the screen with continue-new game. When I try to select any of those, it doesn't let me, It's like my enter key is completely broken. I can skip the intro credits if I push enter, but when I try to select it doesn't let me. Also I have FF8PC and it works perfectly. Just wanna know how to fix this or how to change controls. Please Help Me!

u havta hold the function button in the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard. to move the scroller u havta use 8 for up k for down p for left and u for right. once u get into the game u can change the configuration so u dont havta press the function button

Hey sorry for being a pain in the ass, but it still doesn't work, I may get to think that it's my PC, as it already has happened on my own FF7 and on another one I borrowed from a friend, But still thanks a lot for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. Well, if you ever get to know a way for it to change the controls not ingame, I'll be forever grateful, as there may be any answer you may see on the net, 'til then, I'm gonna try MazeMan95's solution. i got a logitech dual action controller at target thats about $20, it works perfectly with emulators and its great for ff7pc because it reconizes the controller and sets the controllers to as if it were a ps1 controller. from what i knw you can't change the controllers, you NEED the number pad to control the game.

Hey thanks man I'm gonna try it, but just to eb sure, is it the only possible way or can I do recur to another solution which doesn't involve money? Not that I don't want, but still, it's always good to save some couple of bucks if what I need is in there. Also for the numpad, When I press the function button, it lets me move up and down, so in my case, the numpad isn't exactly what's wrong, or I hope so... Either way thanks a lot man, I think I'll give good 'ol Target a visit! Cheers

FF7PC did something really retarted an made it so you have to use the numpad to move, so if you are using a laptop you can buy a usb numpad for like 15 bucks from like future shop or if u are using a desktop just use the numpad. hope thta helps:)
