@airjokerr4455 Yes I have the phone I pretty much love it. However if you text a lot and if you have too many text messages in the phone the phone will freeze and run very slowly. The HTC Evo Shift is very similar to this phone if you are interested in an Android phone. However the keyboard on the HTC Touch Pro 2 is superior to the keyboard on the the SHIFT.

You should have gotten the htc evo or epic 4g. Even though they are expensive, they are worth the money. TP2 is still good though

Interesting comment on the phone being slippery. The best solution I have found is the Seidio case and holster (buy the combo pack at amazon). The case prevents dings and scratches and helps protect the face of the phone.

Had this phone for about a month now and this is the worst phone ever! I hate it! It takes like 10 years to recieve and send pictures. I hate that u cant delete messaged from the keypad...u have to touch thenscreen. Cant listen to music on the internet and use other features on the phone. I hate the way that "message sent" screen always pops up. Also u have to press "see old" to view old text messages...u cant just stroll up. Also can never find sent messages in my email. Ugh. I hate this phone.

I have one, upgraded from a flip style cellphone (so i seriously am not used to touch screens or keyboards) I really do like it, the weight does not bug me at all. My only major complaint is all the finger prints on the touch screen (i am sure its for any cell but it does distract me) No complaints so far, only when i try to scroll down with the programs i tend to select one by accident (user error i guess)

I have the US Cellular version with 1800 songs on a 16 GB card, and yeah, it freezes from time to time. I don't have to reboot it though, it fixes itself in like 30 secs.

Interesting that you point out its slippery casing. My very first smartphone was the HTC Alpine (sold here in the UK as the O2 XDA 2i) and it has no end of dinks, scratches and dents from every time it slid out of my hand!

Is the casing really that slippery or would it be something resolvable by, for example, carving some small nicks into the plastic with a breadknife?

Are there any silicon shells for the TP2? I'm SO close to buying this phone sim-free to replace my aging 4yo HTC Hermes...

Hi. Thanks for sharing your honest and balanced review. I understand what you mean about the polished surface, but the crazy thing is that HTC already know how to do it properly. My Touch Pro has a black rubbery coating. This is not only safe in the hand but means the phone does not slide about in the car. What I hate most about my Touch Pro is Windows Mobile getting it's panties in a knot, then I can't use the phone until I reboot it.

You should get a phone repeater for inside your home! I used to have problems on my old Sprint phone in terms of making phone calls within my old house, but then I got a TP and it worked great. Didn't need to resort to a cell booster after that.
