  • I live only a few miles from hear. Its alright.

  • Great documentary, though..

  • How do you clean plutonium? It can't be made safe. If you say vitrification then would you please eat some and let me know how you are fairing ?

High energy gamma ray bombardment to knock of extra neutrons may work..

  • @TheSolarmike Never once did he say it was 'safe', mate. He said it was SAFER, due to the fact that it's easier to transport and has a much lower risk of devastating spills. Which would you rather have? A barrel full of toxic sludge that spills and gets everywhere soaking into everything and into the ground, or a barrel full of glass that spills and can simply be picked up? Vitrification doesn't make it safe, it makes it 100x more manageable.

  • When my husband moved our family here back in the '90's my Dad asked me why we wanted to move to the "armpit of nuclear society"? I had no idea what he was talking about...and after living here for 16 years, I think this film sums up the moniker better than what I've been able to discern about the area...and says it better than I could explain. Well done.

  • This is the coolest video of Hanford I've ever seen. Well done DOE folks! The 3D Ken Burns shots are spectacular! Excellent graphics that make the epic nature of the Hanford understandable for anyone.

  • Courageous of the feds to show the mushroom cloud and to admit wastes went straight to the soil and the river.
