  • I was at this concert, absolutely incredible when 50 thousand people scream Layla behind you, from what I remember, Jason Mraz, Sheryl Crow, The Charlatans also played this day. Not bad as I bought 2 tickets for £30

  • 15 mac users forgot to plug in their headphones

  • LAYLA is known by many people in my class in japan!!

  • I want to marry Eric Clapton's backup singers Sharon White and Michelle John. They are beautiful, talented and come across as very sweet.

  • 15 motherfuckers BETTER BOW DOWN! The hand of God just BITCHSLAPPED YALL!!!

  • that first bend of his solo is so badass

  • Abe rules.

  • Clapton has no bad song... And his voice, fuck his voice is so fantastic!

  • Who else can rock like that at that age?

  • his playing is as good as it always was if not better, but his voice has really improved, i guess hes went through some serious voice coaching.

  • My god the man is defying the years and keeps getting better like a good wine

who were the guys he's performing with ?

  • 1:30 the voice just gets better

  • Popa Chubby at the drums? :D

  • @snk07 close, abe laborial, jr.

  • @snk07 I can see the resemblance, however it is: Abe Laboriel, Jr

  • @1987BigStu Yeah, isn't he Sir Paul McCartney's drummer? Or was, I guess.

  • I was at the gig - and it was great to hear Layla plugged in (as it should be!!) unlike back 1996 when it was the ever bland acoustic version. Will they ever release this gig as a DVD/Blu Ray???

  • The drummer is Abe Laboriel Jr., I saw him at Paul McCartney's show here in Brazil, he is freakin' awesome.

  • Clapton....what else?

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • EA Samba, Clapton's not really God!! But I have a sneaking suspicion that if God decided to take night off and go see a concert that he'd pick Clapton to go and see!! If only Duane Allman was still alive to be on stage doing this tune with Clapton again!!

  • This is real music. Awesome. Great upload. @Tha2ndWimp below, go fuck a skunk. Fuck that rap pig shit and tupac shit . That's noise ; not music. This is real music. Go fuck your mom with your dad's dildo.

  • Amazing. Just amazing.

  • goodfellas layla scene at 3:38

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • 5:13 is amazing..

  • Clapton is still the best in the business. The music of today is made of getting naked on Mtv, or dressing up like clowns, crap. But this fellow still rocks the blues :D

Don`t even want to thing of the times when he`ll be no more :(

The same goes for all them good bands, guitar players, singers who have made history: Mark Knopfler, Brian May and Roger Taylor, Sting, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins -recently retired - ... and so on.

Respect for those who are no more.

  • 14 people are nut hugging fans of 2Pac's cadaver. They also have an inner ear infection.

  • @Sexxistentialist

what kind of piece of shit are you?

  • @frivolousz21 : I don't know what you ask yourself when you see yourself in the mirror. . . . Not my issue. Nastrovya! ;-D

  • @Sexxistentialist So nice with prejudice pricks like you... So Tupac's music is nothing like this. But his topics were actually good and his songs are worth listening to. I love his music, well most of it. Some of it I don't like at all. Where he lived, people would get killed for their shoes, no wonder his music might have been aggressive from time to time. I enjoy listening to both Eric Clapton and Tupac. Please stop generalizing... zzz.

  • @Tha2ndWimp : how is my comment "prejudice" exactly? Prove it!! Are U using the

    "race card?"

Tupac was a thug & glorified "thug life." In fact, he had "thug life" tattooed on him. He rapped using the "N" word, gloried gangs in his songs (many rappers do that), rapped about killing police officers, he did not play a single instrument when he performed, he always carried a gun (he admitted it), etcetera. Now, how is that generalizing? Those are facts!

    Yes - Clapton > 2CRAP

  • @Sexxistentialist The "N" word... really? I know he had that tattoo, doesn't mean he glorified thug life. He may have been a thug, but that doesn't mean he was proud of it. With the number of times he got shot, it's no wonder he carried a gun. He never shot anyone. He didn't glorify gangs... You're right that he had aggressive songs (like hit 'em up) but that's the minority of his songs. Ghetto Gospel, Changes, Dear Mama, Keep Ya Head Up. Such violent songs man. Glorifying gangs and all.

  • @Tha2ndWimp : Keep worshiping that indolent thug's cadaver. U can't refute what I stated in regards to that shit bag rapper and scum fuck using the "N" word. WTF planet are U living in? So, why would he get a tattoo that said " thug life?" Are U insinuating that he was a poser, a "fake" thug & he did it for propaganda? UR making a futile effort to defend the indefensible.

ROFL you sound like one of those ghetto baboons. Get an education, please!

Clapton has talent. Tupac was trash!!!

  • CLAPTON IS GOD.

  • the dislike-people are plumper then the drummer...

  • i think that this has got to be the worst choice of drummers he could have had !

  • OMG that drummer is everywhere! he plays with Paul Mccartney, and I've seen him play with Sting, and now Clapton

  • never gets old!

i´ll listen to that until the day i die!

  • 12 retarded people

  • One request, turn clapton up, and turn the backup singers down!

  • Having attended this concert i was hoping that there would be a dvd release of erics set.does anyone know was it recorded

  • @strumfellow it was recorded but only for american tv, i don't think there are any plans to release it on DVD unfortunately (i was there too, next to the left speaker tower)

  • @Clapton432 Yeah i looked online and theres one advertised as being pro shot bootleg of course with various artists of the weekend though only three or four e.c songs.maybe i will come across whatever was shown in the states from this concert all the same it was a stunner of a day for it thanks for letting me know cheers

  • is it "blackie"

  • @gerrarddante no this is not blackie. Eric no longer owns that guitar...it is now the property of guitar center.

  • @ncmedic3

"Blackie" has been sold in 2004 for almost $1 million. Blackie's replica has been sold yesterday 03-09-2011, on another auction for $30 000. Pheeew, what a money!

  • calpton is god playin singing or writing genuis

  • Christ that backup singer has a gigantic rack

  • Super!!

  • Best day of music I have ever seen, hopefully I will see him again one day!

  • His skills really do age like a fine Scotch.

  • Truely a guitar god.

  • Clapton is one of the greatest guitar players in the the World!!!

  • Man, back up singers fucking nailed it. Clapton was phenomenal as always, obviously.

  • Is that McCartneys drummer? great fucking performance of a great song!

  • Best Version By Far!

  • Welcome to the church of Blues! Today we study the majesty that is Prophet Clapton. As we pass the liquor Sacrament, thank the Lords of Blues and surrender your soul to that which is the awe of Clapton. Peace and great sex to you all!

  • Paul Mccartneys drummer there

  • CLAPTON IS STILL GOD!

  • ...swietne wykonanie, calosc psuje swiadomosc tego jak musi sie czuc ten chlopak, na ktorym rozsiadla sie ta tlusta, przelysiala blondynka...jest oblesna i jeszcze macha tymi parowkowatymi lapskami...bleeee...acha...i jeszcze sssspiewa do kur...y nedzy...brrrrr...

  • Has anyone in Eric Clapton's recent touring bands ever been able to hit Duane Allman's highest notes that "aren't even on the instrument"?

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X what do you mean? yeah I no duane played off the fret board with a slide but what does that half to do with this

  • the slide guitarist had a set on crossroads 2007

  • I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!

  • do't get me wrong, clapton is a great musician but i think it's better when he plays unplugged.. for example the unplugged layla version is 10 000 times better than this rock version. peace ;)

  • The drummer rocks!

  • correction, Clapton is God jejeje

  • There are many kings, but there is only one GOD !!

  • @badbom92 yah his name is jimi hendrix

  • When those people who hit dislike meet Eric Clapton at the gates of heaven, I'm sure that's just what he'll give them, a thumbs down!

  • those back up singers have some powerful pipes!

  • The drummer is a BEAST. Literally.

  • 2.25 the drummer say's im gonna destroy this drum seT!!!

  • 0:45 Harry Potter! didnt recognise you without the specs mate...loving the sideburns!

  • This is the greatest band EVER. Clapton is God. Doyle Bramhall is a great guitar player. I can't believe he did not become a huge star like Steve Ray Vaughan. Abe Laboriel, Jr. crushes on drums. Is that Chris Stainton on keyboards and Willie Weeks on bass? I want to marry BOTH Michelle John and Sharon White. Is polygamy legal in England? I don't think it is.

  • this song came out when I was in college in the 70's..........seeing these kids sing along gives me hope !!!!!

  • Does the solo guitarist have his string wrongway that e is the 6:th string and E as 1:st string?

  • @JeppapeppaN

The 2nd guitar player is a lefty guitar player that never re-strung his right-handed guitars, so he plays left-handed with the strings up-side down, in the tradition of Otis Rush and Albert King. Name's Doyle Bramhall II. Good Texas blues/rock musician.

  • @JeppapeppaN That's Doyle Bramhall III. He's a lefty who plays his guitar strung right, so the strings seem upside down.

  • I was there, crackin gig!

  • You can grab the audio-mp3 of this video at grabyourmp3 doht cohm.

  • ドラム上手いんだけど、、、、、ギターソロ中うるさいね・・・・

  • Nice, drummer is Abe Laboriel Jr. He is also the drummer of Paul McCartney for the moment. Great to be able to play with two outstanding gods. I saw Eric Clapton twice, two times in Antwerp, one time solo and one time with Steve Winwood. He is just unbelievably good. So quick, so smooth, so alive!!! One of the best in history, without doubt!

  • Clapton is the best, for generations now he has put out some of the best music ever and is an awesome quitarist. Been following him for over 35 years, keep rockin' Eric!

  • Damn. Plus he has sexy back-up singers haha

  • I like that moment when old Clapton plays old hits sounds so perfect

  • eargasm. the drummer looks like he is a metal man as in bulet for my valentine but he just moves and play in the groove i love it and clapton will you never die

  • The God never gets old!

  • wow, he's 63ish in the video and still sings and plays awesome. i hope im in such good shape at that age. he's an icon in the rock and guitar world.

  • the drummer needs to lose some freaking weight

  • Anyone known this girl between 1:43 - 1:45?:)

  • What a song. Eric Claptons voice still gets better.

Best Song and best version ever

  • Playing this with a band, this song is amazing

  • same drummer mc cartney uses:O)

  • Pooh's drummer on stage???

  • Im no one to opine. But this interpretation leaves much to be desired if we compare it with the Madison Square Garden version. 4:08 guitar is very out of tuning and drumms are overplayed. By the way Eric is touched by the wand. I wish every musician was like him

  • Comment removed

  • drummer overplaying a bit... is that abe laboriel?

  • @wwvvwwwvvv can't remember his name but he's Paul McCarteney's drummer right now.

  • @wwvvwwwvvv Thats f*cking right bud. I thought exaclty the same. Drummer is overplaying

  • This was an amazing gig!

  • Not liking EC is a sad thing. But hey so is mental retardation.

  • Les personnes qui n'aiment pas cette vidéo ont juste déraper sur la mauvaise icône !

  • bit of practice he should be ok

  • Looks like a million people there!

  • That's the drummer that plays with Paul McCartney in his tours. Amzing drummer and song

  • when he sang it, was he 63?

    (i don't know his age.)

i love his voice and music!

  • @52kbkr yes probably, he's 65 now and this was posted in 2008

  • Do you know Layla ? She is the George Harrison`s wife

  • The drummers tongue at 2:24!! ha

  • im trying to get the tone for this song on its original recording but the problem im having is my strat we I hit the string it has an extra pop or a twang to it, can anyone help?

  • @jubjub905 Try the neck pickup dude.

  • I'm pretty sure this video came pre-loaded with 10 dislikes. cause there's no way that any person could have not liked it.

  • the solos are slowed down but i thinks its his fingers i mean when you get older you fingers stiffen more so maybe thats the reason but tbh it still rocks! :)

  • what song is this?!

  • @MysteryWave this is layla. best song written. look at the title -__-

  • It's hard to believe, but this song was originally recorded 40 years ago today, September 9, 1970. Clapton just gets better and better as time goes by. His voice is stronger and his guitar playing is even smoother and more intense than it was back in the":Clapton is God" days. Happy 40th Birthday, Layla.

  • @barbali57 I agree. Clapton put some more notes in there. But somehow the lefty guitar guy didn't match in my ear.

  • Drummer playing too fast.

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen him live several times, going back to the 70's. Last year he was the best I've ever seen him. He is a true legend.

  • isn`t that paul mccartney`s drummer

  • 2 minutes of singing and 5 minutes of guitar solo? Yeahhh, thats Clapton

  • Why do people always ask for thumbs? Is like a competition? Thumbs up this comment! No seriously don't!!!

  • @disCoverTheCover2010 I gave your comment a thumbs down because I'm cool.

  • @doctorgriffith thank you, finally, someone understands!!!

  • Minty from Eastenders is playing the drum

  • finish cut :/

  • is that the drummer from Paul Mccartney's band?

  • @act318 ... yeah ... Abe Laborial Jr.

  • layla can't be sang by girls it's a true mans expression of love for woman (wich already belong to an other guy)
