It's nice to see Brian and Steve here again together on stage. Unfortunately, this would have been the last common gig. Thank you that you have uploaded this rare video footage. All the best from Germany.
@deescottmusic: why it was never what? Probably it was realized that the time for the Sweet was finally over.
The worst thing that happened to Sweet was Chinn and Chapman, but saying that I loved Sweet as a teenager in the early 70's, A piece of the action was my favourite and it was written by the lads.
@plastikbertrand they wouldn't have made it without chin/chapman-in their own words! also, it would have deprived us glitter babies of some of the most fabby glam moments...
@plastikbertrand Be serious will ya! Without Chin & Chapman they would never had made it. Period. I've seen recent Sweet shows-its the hits that bring the house down.
I love this band so much! And their story is so sad for me. They could have been so much more. So much bigger. So much happier.. In the UK, they are remembered for all the wrong reasons, if at all... It breaks my heart to think of how it turned out to be...
Wow, that's something. As for all the rifts, and Steve's character flaws, and Andy, I don't really care. I'm such a big fan they can do almost anything, they are Sweet! I had a very large collection of Sweet memorabilia, and I was trying to meet Steve and give it to him, but no luck. I missed his recent gig near here, I had a gig myself. Someday I'll meet him, and maybe Andy.
Dawn1959 you are right. I was going to say exactly the same thing and then I checked out the comments and saw yours about Steve putting his arm around Brian at the end... it just melts my heart, especially Brian's warm reaction. I can't stop looking at it. R.I.P. my darling Brian Connolly, you'll NEVER be forgotten.
looks like steve was still pretty chummy with brian :) steve's book says andy was a prima donna (who often stormed off set) . oddly, mick went along with andy's sweet
wow, no fighting...stee is actually smiling. Interesting why Steve left the limelght. Brian actually looks better than steve at this point. Steve recently toured in 2008 as Sweet, but even though the band is tight it isn't the same. I appreciate the band for what it was like people do of JFK...remember them in their glory with great fondness!
Very sorry to hear that you haven't seen your Grandfather. Thanks so much for posting this video. I just loved this band and I'll always remember the tunes. Tell your Mom thanks for sharing. I hope your Mom and you and your Grandfather mend the rift soon. Take care
hey it was great to see steve out gigging but i hope he can last the tour he looks really in ill health much almost identical in looks and body to by brother who passed away two years ago...
i am his daughter lisa priest,this was my wedding may 14th 1994,although it was fantastic to watch them perform toghether, it was unfortunate,as they were all invited, but mick was ill, and andy {well no comment}
my son is not a liar,he is quite innocent to understand just how popular the sweet were, and he is far from a loving caring dad/grandad,
I think, that Andy has a somewhat difficult character. P.e. he needs a new singer all 4 years, and he had sacked Jeff Brown, who was perhaps the best singer of Sweet after BC, without a reasonable cause.
hi lisa my name is thomas big fan of your dads band since the mid seventies and iam still today . Good to see your dad out gigging how is is health these days i hope the touring does not take to much a toll i know some of these guys like to think they are twenty one again but the numbers dont add up hope to hear back from u some day thomas...
i am sorry your dad is not a good grandfather...i love the "sweet", but didn't really know the faces of the members and now i know what great showmen they were...too bad they can't be good family members. your poor son...
Hello Lisa and Jordan! I am Suezy a friend of your dad/granddad and I ran the US Sweet Fanzine back in the 90's. I was very honored to cover your wedding back then. I remember the day Steve called and told me he had his first grandchild!! He was very proud!
Hi fomeey/ Lisa -I have just read your comment of a year ago about your Dad, Steve Priest...I am so sorry to read that he is not 'a loving caring/ grandad' - it's his loss! Hope you can rise above your sadness - I will be thinking of you. Love from Dublin
Thanks for posting this,Steve stuck by Brian during his rough times and Andy crapped on him.Loved his band, miss Brian and Mick dearly.Tell Steve we will always remember the ORIGINAL SWEET not AS stealing the Sweets name.Rock on Steve,we love ya.

Brian stopped drinking somewhere in the 80's, but he was too highly damaged and he died in 1997.
