This is one of my favorite games of all time... this boss battle probably the most epic ever, after I defeated the tower knight after 20 tries, I felt an incredible sense of achievement I've never felt before in a video game. I can't wait until Tuesday when my copy of Dark Souls arrives!
@TheChainreaction11 in case you couldn't tell, the difficulty here is higher. when you beat the game, you have the option to replay it on higher difficulty. the host for this obviously did it several times, so the difficulty is super high. otherwise it's an easy boss.
@SuperNinjasauce oh I forgot to mention all six times were on the same file. duh. I know its tough. one hit death even from an arrow but take out the archers and stay on him and its easy.

@omarag1 its New Game + , once you've beaten the game through, you can start new game +, which is basically a new game but you keep all your current equipment ect.

Use sprint to run around behind the knight until it does it's shield smash on the ground. After the shield smash he is open for attack for several seconds. Use this time to attack his ankles until both of them are spewing out a lot of soul. Eventually this will cause him to fall over, be sure to dodge when he falls or you will loose precious time by being crushed. While he is on the ground strike his head for large damage. No reason to use a shield in this battle, two-hand your weapon.

I am a knight. The tactic I used was to circle him counterclockwise as to avoid him using his spear stab attack, until I gained his back. Then I would lock to his ankles (usually the right one first) and the Stab (R2) then double slash (R1,R1) then retreat as to avoid his hop, stomp or quick shield slam. Also if I was infront and he performed his hard shield slam that was a good moment to get his back, right after he slams the floor.

How do you play with friends? do all players share the same server? In other words, If i leave a stone somewhere will a friend of mine be abble to summon me if hes the same soul level and at the same place?

Keep circling round the back of him if you can with your own shield up. As long as you remain behind him, only his back step and leap back can damage you, and these are his weakest attacks. Eventually, after enough damage is done, he will fall over and you can attack his head for massive damage.
best tactic against this guy is two hands on weapon, especially heavy weapons, breaks his armor quicker on his feet, but requires non-clunker rolls lol
And thats why magic is king for that boss, killed him with out taking damage from the boss its self, might have taken an arrow or 2 from the archers but nothing from the boss
have your friend drop a stone and you pick it up,make sure it says his name,make sure you grab before anybody else does,if not tell him to leave and try again.

Mitocondriak, i have a big favour to ask you, since you can record could you stand in the nexus for about 10 minutes with soundeffects off so its jsut the background music and upload that, then ill be able to convert the video to mp3 and viola, some soundtrack for the nexus
ok im gonna put this very simple,while in soul form the blue stone in your inventory place it down in a lv wait to get summoned,while in body form just look for the blue stones on the floor and summon them,you do not need an asian account,if your still having problems,add me on PSN my psn name is HOLYBOOM i'll help you out and maybe kill some demons
I'd use lock on to the feet, it eases things a lot. Sidewalk avoiding his spear attacks and when he drops the shield on the ground, run towards him and hit his ankles. With the lock on, it's much easier.
I beat him really easily an looked this up thinking "was I meant to do it like that?" I just sat by his feet and laid into him. :P

easiest way is to use soul arrow spell ... or imbue your weapon with magic which will penetrate that armor of his better

I'd use lock on to the feet, it eases things a lot. Sidewalk avoiding his spear attacks and when he drops the shield on the ground, run towards him and hit his ankles. With the lock on, it's much easier.
