  • HIV/AIDS was originaly comes from The Belgian Congo in Africa. The mass Polio vaccination there was a nightmare. All those batches were contaminated with the SIV (simian Immunology Virus), so long story short, the HIV/AIDS will be there for ever, because even if we do have a cure, which we do. We aren't going to help them out. Why? well because is the curse they will have for ever, for being that way. They don't want to improve their Lives, it is why.

  • Way cool man, I salute you

  • What's the 'tro tro' or whatever it was he says right at the end?

  • Going there april 1. :-)

  • great video! I will be in accra, ghana in 3 months! im SOOO excited!

  • ..... i miss ghana.....

  • you are great people...I admire you:)

  • why do they always go to the villages aka poor parts? Ghana is one of the fastest growing economies in africa. There are beautiful places why do they insist on showing only the disadvantaged parts but its never the other way round i dont see africans going to uk and filming their stay on the chav estates. if you really want to help the country improve the tourist industry.

  • because ppl in beautiful places don't need help. and money from tourism is definitely not thought to help villages. someone has to help the weakers. it's not gonna solve the problem, but at least it's a relief

  • Hey man have you checked any Ghanaian guitar styles? You'll be hooked.I'm a pro Ghanaian gtrist living in Uk.I like your teaching methods ..keep up good work

  • This guy packed up like he was going to Mars.

  • dude, HIV prevalence in ghana is 3.2% of 22 million. tell me, is that an HIV problem??

  • They have an HIV problem there, bullshit, as much as it is in the UK. Anyway shouldn't you be wearing a condon everytime you sleep with a stranger.

  • Thank you for posting this video!

  • Oh man this makes me miss Ghana so much!

  • ghana chicks?

  • Justin...come in Romania please :))

  • ohhh no, Romania is a to bad country for Justin.we're richer than the people from Ghana but here in Roumana are a lot of assholes.

  • neah...be proud to live in Romania...Justin you can come when you like... is a nice country...good music , good soccer :)))

  • yeah, good soccer!:)))

  • That is so nice of you Justin. To give all that.

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.

  • I also stayed with the same guy through Village volunteers a month ago.

    :)

    Ghana is AMAZING.

  • so did u return ur stuff to England??

  • dangggggggg i am from ghasna nd trust me WE HAVE ALL DAT STUFF there so next time yeh u shud jus get it there

  • u sure ur girlfriend is called ewe and not making fun of the ghanian vanacular?

  • positive!!! Ewe (short from Ewelina) :)

  • OMG ! Guys do you really need those items to go to Ghana !? Be sincere with yourselves , when you went there you saw those items there and cheaper, you would have saved yourselves the weight

  • there are v expensive!! Everything in Africa is expensive so is better to take the extra weight!!

  • Just to clarify... ALL the medicines were gifts for the family we stayed with and for Sam, a child I have sponsored for several years that I went to meet. We asked the local people about things they needed and they gave us a list, and that is what we took.

And they were very much appreciated.

And mosquito nets are VERY important there! In fact the gov is trying to get nets for every child in malaria risk areas.

  • u don't need all that to go ghana

    ghana is pieceful country

trust am from ghana yeah and u don't all that "asprins" to go there jeezo

  • Dude! Dang you passed by my grand mum house... oo i miss ghana, any chics wanna go with me?

  • Haha, thought you had all that stuff in your bag for yourself at first. :D

  • LOL xD.. u`re just a little carefull with the Medicin XDDDDD ( that`s good)

  • Ah thanks for the info :))

  • I always wonder how on earth do women in africa carry things in their heads...

  • THey carry them ON the heads.

They roll a scarf, or a piece of fabric together, so it makes a wheel shape. Then they place it on the head, so it gets a plane shape. And then they just have good balance. (:

  • u survived the night, lol, smart on the mosquito nets.

  • u really dont need mosquito nets there, its a bit much lol, all u need is some high deet and if u dont have none u just make sure u take ur malaria pills and u may get bit, but u wont get malaria. but deet is the best way.

  • antiguans are like ghanaians in fact most of them descend from the ghanaians

  • A Kiwi teach Ghana football?

  • haha condoms.

  • though i admire your selflessness in going to another man's land to help, i completely detest the way you made ghanaians seem primative. Your host and his obvious lack of command of the english language made it easier to make us look like fools.

  • i am very happy you said this, i had a promotional video for ghana on mine, its a roughcut and the quality is bad the way i compressed it from final cut to youtube just made the quality pretty shitty, but i think it really shows ghana in a more honest depiction, not the way we see it on eurocentric western media.

i think to better embrace the culture in

  • hana, is to talk to the people not only in english but to learn their local language, Twi, Ga, Ewe depending on where you are. I think Twi is easiest if your in Accra, Kumasi...ect

but the promotional video is for ohio state university, we went as a group this summer in june. but ill upload the finalized version next week when its finished and im done adding more interviews and mixing sound, i dunno if the quality will be good, but it will be good on DVD.

  • I don think he made then look primative, neither did i think his host had a bad grasp of english. I think you're just being obnoxious.

  • My Grandads From Ghana :]

Not Sure Where Abouts In Ghana..

But I Would Love To Go :]

  • you are a Class guy justin!! your positivity is contagious so keep it up!! with more selfless people like you in the world it wouldnt be the mess it is today!! wicked teacher as well

    all the best!!

  • Thank God there is still somme good people around--like you. We should all follow your example.

  • Ah!

    This is fun.

Your suitcases looked alike like ours when we packs. tons of toys and meds.

We were not to far away from you in Hohoe...

  • haha condoms. where did all your clothes go?

  • That's crazy how the women carry everything on their heads.

  • hahahhahahahahha

    lolollol funnyy

  • condoms lol

  • Justin, you're the best!

  • Imma goin back here this summer :D

  • Justin, for a long time now you've inspired me to play guitar. Now you've inspired me to be a better person. God bless you and Evelina.

    Thank you.

  • hahaha u remind me of austin powers.

i love this guy, he helped be become pretty good on the guitar.

i wouldn't say im jimmy page quite yet.

    Thank You Justin.

  • condoms lol

  • wow, i've wanted to go there for so long. i'm planning on studying abroad in ghana my sophmore year of college, i'm looking into an african studies minor, and film is going to be my major. most of my family thinks i'm crazy for wanting to go to ghana rather than somewhere touristy like france or england. it's cool to be able to live vicariously through these videos though. :)

  • Well done justin, ive been to many a poor country with the army and its a real eye opener what these people have to go isnt it? well done mate

  • hey justin, i know that you read all your messages so this is a good way to ask i suppose.

i am thinking of doing a sponsored bike ride for charity in the summer. Any tips for a good charity that genuinely goes to a good cause. You see I heard that like only 1% of money going to oxfam is actually given to poverty.

    please reply

  • Justin you are a great guy. Please keep on doing things like that. Even if there are not millions of watching this. if a few person recognize it, its worth it!

  • cool justin my 10 year old ratboy is helping a school in kenya he he collects up unwanted football shirts and a guy takes them out for him they love them best regards kevin

  • you are a better man than me. i couldn't go there. and its not because of the open sewers or poverty. its just too hot for me. hahaha.

  • Your amazing Justin!!

  • HIV problem there? and i'm sure i heard someone laugh- erm, that problem is everywhere and in fact Ghana has one of the smallest amount of it in west africa, let alone all of africa. Great video though. At least it wasn't in the usual 2 White so we think we're better than these bobos" mentality.

  • I know laughing about HIV is not very cool - it's a serious issue on a global scale. We only found it funny because we had just been talking about taking condoms to an orphanage, for the kids. But you don't get that bit in the vid, so it does come across a bit silly now I listen to it again... apologies, no offense meant! J

  • and I should add that it is still a problem there, perhaps more socially. We met children who still had living parents with hiv that had been outcast because their extended family believed hiv is a curse - some kind of witchcraft - and would not care from them. You are correct though, Ghana's hiv problem is low compared with much of Africa. Search "Aids in Africa" in Wiki for an interesting map...

  • because you whites always say negative things about africa. Africa is not the only continent who have HIV.

  • We white's don't "always" say anything about anything. There are so many of us that it's impossible! Keep your racism to yourself.

  • ive always wanted to do this!

Good for you for actually doing it

  • What a fantastic adventure that must have been. And you and Ewe surely have some good Karma coming your way for all your help.

See any really cool instruments while you were there? (besides the drum). -Cheers
