When Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, he didn't free all the slave states in the confederate states.

He SAID that all slaves in "states in a state of rebellion against the United States of America" are free, something he literally could not do.

The Proclamation was merely a morale boost for the Union, and a psychological blow to the Confederacy.

Cgrsm no offence but your clearly stupid. The south did not secede from the Union and Lincoln did not illegally invade! The south technially did not leave at all. They thought they did but there was no way legally to leave the Union. Also Lincoln invaded the South which was a smart choice cause the South was getting out of hand. It was a war in are own country which is called a "Civil War". Either your just plain stupid or your a confederate to this day.

First, show intelligence by refraining from referring to the war as "civil war." Civil war is two factions within the same government fighting for control of that government. The South legally seceded from the US and formed the Confederate States of America. Lincoln illegally invaded the South to force the seceded states to return to the Union.

It was, literally, the War Between the States. Calling it the "Civil War" may be common, but is incorrect, and an example of stupidity.
