I don't get it: Yes, it might be a lucky accident that the coast guards found him, I am not literate how exact they can locate him in the open sea. If he sent a Mayday signal and stated his GPS coordinates it is not that great an accident since you are very clear then where he is.
After that and driving out there to him you would visually operate or as we see with this infrared device.
So, probably no miracle at all and the real heroes are modern technology and the trained coastguards, not god.

The real cause of his life being saved is the amazing execution of the rescue team. Particularly, by dropping 2 rafts upwind successfully, they took a calculated chance which worked out in this case. I mean, if a life raft had just appeared out of nowhere or if the hand of God had plucked him out of the sea, well okay, now were talking, but all evidence points to great work by the Navy and Coast Guard, and good fortune.
So how did God actually direct him to this raft? And why did God wait so long to save him? Oh yeah, and why did he save this guy but let 25,000 children die of preventable disease the same day he saved this guy?

If God saved David Clements, then I hope that Mr. Clements does some spectacular deeds for humanity because at the same time he was saved there were hundreds of women being raped who were calling out to God and God didn't help them, and hundreds of children were being molested and calling out to God and God didn't save them. The real cause of his life being saved is the amazing execution of the rescue team. Particularly, by dropping 2 rafts upwind successfully, they took a calculated chance which worked out in this case. I mean, if a life raft had just appeared out of nowhere or if the hand of God had plucked him out of the sea, well okay, now were talking, but all evidence points to great work by the Navy and Coast Guard, and good fortune.

This thanking god thing is absolutely abhorrent. People don't give themselves credit for completing such wonderfully difficult tasks, like kicking an addiction, winning awards, completing school, etc. just to thank god.
Reminds me of the 'miraculous' revival of a mother and baby over xmas. Why thank god? If anything, god killed them. Thank the hospital staff and medical science for the recovery, god had done enough.

I commend this guy wanting to now go out and help others. That's really great. But to follow his claim to its logical end, all the people who were lost at sea who weren't miraculously saved (ie. the majority of those in his situation) were, strictly speaking, condemned by God. Okay, lets start by thanking the pilots, then the people of the aircraft carrier. No amount of prayer made the PILOT DROP THAT RAFT in the correct position. I'm almost sick watching this. Has nothing to do with the fact that the raft is designed to float a certain way (that is right side up) Maybe we thank an engineer? Maybe we talk about the diver that helped? Come on!
