  • And How you compare the Tweaker with the Bugera? What is your opinion about it ? Im asking that cause it is my first tube amp and I have no experience with other. You can check my video list. I have a demo that I made using the Celestion G12h Heritage 55hz, that one with bigger magnet.

  • @blackmorejimi I would say the Tweaker is a tighter sounding amp because the gain isn't totally unwieldy when everything is pegged on 10. The Bugera has 2 channels and a footswitch which makes it a little more versatile. I think the Tweaker has better tone, though. If you're looking for a good first tube amp, you may want to consider the Egnater Rebel 30. It's low wattage and dual channel and has a power scaling feature down to 1 watt. Might work better for bedroom volume.

  • Thank you so much for helping me. I dont have much experience with tube amps so Im little lost. Have you ever played the Bugera 1960 ? Im thinking really serious to get one.

  • @blackmorejimi I don't have any experience with the 1960, but I hear good things about them. I used to have a Bugera V22, and it was surprisingly good for the price. The only downside was that it had too much gain and was unusable when cranking the power stage. I don't know if the 1960 is the same, but it's something to look out for. You could tame it a bit by putting a 12AT7 in the V2 preamp slot, but beyond that a complete redesign would be needed to fix any gain issues.

  • Rolling the volume back was a great tip. It helped me a lot !! Thank you! I noticed that when rolling the knob backward the bass response stays the same while the volume decreases. Im now thinking to sell my Tweaker to get the Bugera 1960 infinium which is almost consider a plexi clone. I found on ebay for a great price on the amp and shipping. The problem is that I play just in my bedroom, no band at the moment and the Bugera is 150 watt. Do you think I'll get good tones in low volumes wit it?

  • @blackmorejimi Probably not. The real tone of a plexi amp is in turning it up full blast. That was pretty much how Hendrix, Page and Van Halen got their tone. Everything was on 10 or 11 as the case may be. :) If you want to get usable tone at bedroom volumes with a non-master volume amp, then you need an output attenuator like a Marshall Power Brake, Power Soak or Weber Mass Attenuator. I have a weber, and it works great to drive the power stage and keep the volume manageable.

  • Nice Video ! I would loved it if you had played with a strat the hendrix's song in a clean mode with just a little bit of sustain,. I've been searching for Hendrix's tone but the amp that I bought desapointed so much. To thin and weak bass response. It is the Egnater Tweaker

  • @blackmorejimi The Jimi part I played was with the single coil tap in the mid position, and it's as close as I could get to a strat with this guitar. I have a 15W Tweaker head, too. Definitely not the same. Try these settings - Vintage, Brit, Clean, Normal, Deep. Master: 10, Bass: 5, Mid: 7, Treble: 6, Gain: 10. That might get you close. Flip the Clean to Hot for more gain, but you'll have dial back the Gain unless you really like squealing guitar sound.

  • @blackmorejimi Oh, and roll back the volume knob on your guitar with the gain up all the way on the amp. You can use this to achieve a clean edge of breakup tone that willl have some bite to it if you really dig into the strings. Then you can use the volume control to go from clean to mean without needing to tweak your amp knobs accordingly.

  • Nice guitarsound, nice dog :)

  • @Renhjarta Hahaha. Thanks! Sadly neither the amp nor the dog are with me any more. They've both moved on to greener pastures.

  • sounds awesome. what version of the eminence legend is this? v12? m12? and how many watts? thanks.

  • @naveed211 I don't have this cabinet any more, but I believe it was an Eminence Legend 1258 with 8 ohm impedance and rated at 75 watts. It really was a great sounding speaker.

  • maybe it's the guitar, but i don't care for what i hear.

  • @blooperjohn It's probably the player! :P

  • Nailed those AC/DC tones!

How much does this tone-machine cost?

  • @eXpdjmnm You can find these on Ebay for about $750 to $1000 depending on the build and quality of components used. These days I've actually seen some go as low as $550.

  • @imagimotion Thanks, mate.

  • Are there only three songs out there! Same same same. OLD.

  • @hotstuffsmartass I didn't realize so many others out there doing demos of a Plexi were riffing "I Think I'm Going Bald" by Rush...or "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by the Scorpions...or "2112" by Rush...or a bit of "Custard Pie" by Zeppelin (although badly on my part).

So my response to you is - Huh?

By the way, you can't demo a Plexi without at least playing some AC/DC or Hendrix. That's what these amps do.

  • @imagimotion What about some Cream or John Mayall?

  • @JimmyPage968 Sadly I no longer have this amp. A little White Room or Badge would have been sweet, I agree. :)

  • Yeah D.. sounds a lot lime my 86

  • Nice clip.... would love to hear this with a strat or tele.

  • @dparel The closest I could get was the single coil tap from my center pickup, which is a Duncan Alnico Pro 2. I recently sold this, so sadly I won't be able to put any more clips up, strat or otherwise. Thanks for the feedback.
