Usually on drums, when u activate star power since u have to hit two notes, the game doesn't count it as a note.

Maybe you played to much at the end, after "fill", so the statistics is 99%. You can activate star power one any note and it do not count as a mistake (so you are right). But please do not worry, you are great player ;)

you'll never break a combo by doing orange and yellow at the same time unless there is a yellow and you press orange or vice versa. I think it also breaks your combo if you do it with and orange and yellow note coming up

You get a splitter, they're fairly cheap. You attatch the splitter into the back of your guitar hero drum kit and then attatch the two bass pedals, one into each end of the splitter. Hope this helped.

I think Metallica drums would be more difficult than Slipknot, given that the percussion sounds you get when listening to Slipknot are across three percussionists. And to be honest, the drumset stuff is really easy if you listen for the difference between whats on a drumset and what is on the timpani and such.
