i agree with you becuase im light skin im still brown but im carmel and my sisters are darker than me but i might get positive comments because my eyes and my colour but i still sometimes gert negative comments and its crazy...!!!y cant people be normal
Everyone's experience is different. I'm a black person with (light skin) who grew up on an island that is predominantly black . . and I got picked on severely. To say light-skinned blacks have it better isn't always true. My step father taunted me with shoe polish and reminded me everyday of my skin tone. It all starts in the home - parents making a big-to-do about skin tone and in turn children go to school and taunt others that are different. You need to evaluate both sides.
@1962Truthseeker true, many lighter skinned people who are obviously mixed with black often get the raw end of the deal. racist white people think of them as niggers, racist black people think of them as "not black enough". not to mention, bitches like her are jealous of their "good hair" and tease them constantly. sorry about your experience.
Unless you are light skinned you really cant pass that sort of judgement. That's like me as someone who is'n't Chinese saying that being Chinese makes it easier for me to learn math.UN-TRUE.Believe that would make me ignorant.
I don't think light skinned people have it easier. More people act stupid. I and my two sisters are fully black. Me and my younger sister are dark and had long full thick hair. I cut mine and everyone said it was pretty. People would ask are we mixed with Indian like nut. People actually get mad at us more if they marry a mixed person to have a pretty child and their child is ugly. They won't like the fact that we look good and have long pretty hair.
we all have struggles no matter what skin color we are, its stupid how you can sit here and judge someone else when you never walked a day in that person shoes.
what is your struggle??? exactly......What makes your life so different as a brownskin woman?? If this has to do with being pretty then that is not a struggle my dear...and seeking acceptance from others is a sign of personal insecurities and you might want to work on that...prettiness has nothing to do with complexion...It is skin texture and features that make all a difference in ones beauty...A lightskin girl with bad acne is never an option ugly has no skin color just as bullets have no name
@tonyanthemz lmao. i love myself. i am very attractive and i kno this. but i also kno i receive different treatment then my lighter skin family members. that is all i am saying. MY OPINION. NO FACTS. calm down.
Oh and Germany will embrace your brown skin!! And beauty has nothing to do with complexion it is about features and smooth skin texture at first glance....but most of all when a darkskin woman is soft and pink she is at her best in all essence!!
@tonyanthemz ive lived in germany and thailand. complexion is NOT only an american concept. there are dark asians like in thailand who are treated differently than lighter thais. but like i said these are my OPINIONS.
you need to go out of the country for 6 months......complexion is an American concept.......get out of that box that you are in....where I live ppl dont even waste their time with this dialog....I think it is insecurities because most of the women I pursued were darkskin and they play the hardest to get...Be proud and so ambitious that you wont even notice anyone but you and your goals...life is about skill not complexion!! God bless
I'm about 60% Cuban, 30% Hatian and 10% French. I have light skin but my sister has this dark, rich, chocolate skin. Everyone comments on how pretty and gorgeous she is. Kids at school used to call me a yellowbone and one day I came home crying and then got some spray on bronzer and tried to get darker. It didn't work. Finally I learned to accept my skin but sometimes I kind of still wish I had darker skin but it is what it is.
Excellent Vid! I especially liked the part when you advised that parents affirm their dark skin children of being beautiful. You are a very beautiful and articulate young lady! I also love your hair. God Bless you!
@MissessMalcolm Aw I'm sick of this shit! If the lighter girl u speak of got all of the attention it's because she's prettier, period! Not due to skin color. Stop obsessing over lightskin women, check yourself in the mirror, do something with that knotty hair gone wild look, wear a little makeup, a dress, heals, soften your looks, that's what attract men, not skin tone. That all natural look doesn't work 4 any woman, so step up ur game & you'll get a man.....got it !!! Ur skintone is just fine.
We as light-skinned/mixed people don't have it easier. There are just some experiences we have that are different. I have a very dark-skinned younger cousin who is always getting told how pretty she is. She's never been called "pretty for a dark-skinned girl"; just "pretty". I actually love your hair, but I think natural hair is better than weave/relaxers.
@briarts very true. we dont have it easier. we get talked down on by our own black people so much... and its like, why? because im light??? thats crazy.
@kayladavis2009 im mixed with spanish, black and indian, and people always tell me im white or im a mexican or they say i sound white, I aint black and just recently some one called me a "sand nigger" but i dont let that get to me some people are just ignorant, and MissessMalcolm your beautiful you got pretty white teeth beautiful skin and bright big brown eyes;-)
@ladyinthewood idk. thas just how it came out as i was recalling the situation in my mind. it was just 'funny' that she was white and accepted my tan cousin as her 'daughter' but im darker so my 'mother' just had to be the darkest camp counselor. its also ironic because my cousins real mother is darker than i am. and my real mother is way lighter than me. i placed emphasis on skin color because after all that is the topic.
@hlwrites the first experience was with a white camp leader. and the rest of the experiences i never said black or white. if u want to state ur opinion why dont u make a video. have a nice day sir.
@hlwrites Surprise! i never said it was. i was simply stating that my sister and cousin are mixed and i am not. guyanese isnt a race either. neither is chinese but u didnt mention those smart ass.
i usuallly don t agree with bl.ppl cuz many of them became more racist and more agressive than white ppl they call ''the most racist ppl/race''=))..but u re ok in this video and, surprisingly, very objective(i donno if this is the word cuz english isnt my native language:))..anyways, i wanna say u something:the phisical appearance doesnt define ur racial background,u could be identical to 1 (grand)parent & u won t have anything fromothergrand)parents ..
Damn man black people have some serious issues!!! But i thank Godddddd my mother didn't divide me and my brothers and sisters by skin tones she loved us equally, even-though sometimes she'd say some crazy shit like "ew you gettin dark you need to stay out of the sun" things like that but she wasn't on some self hating favorite the light skinned and shit like that. But it is what is i see it alot out in society myself people hate anything dark , just look at what they associate dark with.
@RealismOfLife antwon fisher. those scenes in that movie with the 3 kids where so sad. and u kno its funny u say black ppl. because i live in thailand and they have a skin complex as well. there are darker thais who bleach their skin. and the lighter thais walk around with umbrellas all day to prevent a tan.
@MissessMalcolm That's crazy because i find the darker women to be the most beautiful and attractive of Thai women, but i guess it's that way wherever it's an European influence.Because they force their standard of beauty on a lot of people around the globe and it have a serious effect
@RealismOfLife right right. white = right here. i think they have more white ppl on their billboards than they do actual thai ppl. its sad. its also ironic that they love my skin color but hate thier own. and in america some darker skin ppl hate their complexion but love darker skinned latinos or asians. smh. ppl just need to love themselves bottom line.
People are so damn ignorant smh. You really know when it's a form of self hate when they say EVERY light skinned person is beautiful. That's the biggest lie or misconception in our community. I know you're grateful to your beautiful mom for instilling in you the TRUTH.
Yea! But She's Talking About Us Light Skin Carmel Blacks In General! Us Lite Skin Carmel Guys Too! The Closer Your Skin Is Too White! And Non-Black You Are Good And Pretty Much Accepted In THIS WHITE MAN WORLD! More Than Anything Dark TRUST ME!
I've experienced the same thing, my bestfriends are both lighter than me. I always wanted to be lighter, but since moving to europe, i have become lighter cause of the weather, n i miss my dark skin.. I need a serious tan:) Dark skin is beautiful..
you commented on jayloves page, and said that as soon as you get home you would upload a vid. i was leaving work my self when you said that. and i just got home( im in london) and here you are. that what the (l.o.l) was about.
@MissessMalcolm Jaylove is a shovel, fuck this nigga. He's a house nigga, yes light skin blacks have it slightly easier then dark skin cats. But i still believe the struggle is equal. Black males don't have this complex like black girls. jay love have this complex just because he's a homosexual faggot. Setting niggas back
@markeithmm89 Light skin black men have an easier time finding jobs, and get treated better by the legal system. There have been academic studies done. Look at the "first black president". LIGHT. Colin Powell. LIGHT.
@firemarshall007 You black people have a fuck up complex, caramel skin color like minds have the ability to become light to brown. Chris brown, alicia keys, rihanna, mariah carey is light skin. Biracial people in general have it easier. Not just because they're light skin. I believe bi-racial people have the ability to open doors for all colors of the black race. Even dark skin people have the ability to do that.Who cares if they were like, egyptians were light, dark, and white skin too.
Colin Powel and Obama are biracials. they recognize their mixed heritage and know themselves to be no different or inferior to white people. because of this, they have a different outlook on life. it's an outlook you'll find among many biracial people, we are not scared of this world, we do not feel inferior to ANYONE and so we tend to do ok in life. that's the deciding factor. same goes for Asians and just about every other race apart from American blacks.
here's a quote from Colin Powell: "My race is someone else's problem -- it's not my problem." You see, we do not carry race as such a burden. black people revel in race and they carry an attitude that many people (particularly employers) do not find very easy to deal with. lighten up, relax around people of different races and people will like black people a lot more. i'm not saying you do not have a hard time being black, but you make it a lot harder on yourself.
i agree with you becuase im light skin im still brown but im carmel and my sisters are darker than me but i might get positive comments because my eyes and my colour but i still sometimes gert negative comments and its crazy...!!!y cant people be normal
