that is so slow 1 min and 30 sec!, just delete most of the icons on your desktop, make sure most (if not all) the programs you have, do not start up, on start-up. use CCleaner to get rid off a lot of the crap that's on your PC (it also deletes non-permanently deleted files). you can use another operating system like Ubuntu, it's like window and mac, it has a 8 sec load up time on my PC. and your running windows in windows, don't you think the load up time might be a bit longer because of this?!

When I was using WinXP, I was able to get the number of processes down to about 25 or less. With Win7 however, I regularly have 50 or more processes going at anytime, and thats pretty much the minimum I can get it. but it doesn't seem to be any slower than XP, so thats good.

I found a ton of stupid ps3 rubbish installed and booting on my laptop. That sped it up a lot. You should mention the problem of running 32 bit stuff on a 64 bit pc. It drains the memory to the last bit.

To elaborate, it's an operating system mounted inside of an operating system. When your PC boots it boots an operating system. Since this one is running inside the old one, he can restart the one in the window and keep the outside one running fine.

Please answer my problem, i really don't know what to do. I have bought my laptop one year and 4 months ago, no problems. After a year my computer started to have problems every 15-13 min. A couple of months later this changed to like 5-10 min. Now it has problems every 5 min. It is slowing down every time because my laptop is overheating. One of my svchosts on the task managers stays on 50 CPU. Please help, is my cooling element broken, or is it my laptop?

@denzosjs have u scanned ur computer for adware / spyware ?? how much memory do u have ?? Win7 requires a minimum of 1 GB of ram and a 1 ghz cpu...is ur copy of windows legal ? if u don't have the tabs on ur task manager it may be running in tiny footprint mode.. double click the top border & see if it switches to normal display mode..check ur startup tab in ur MSCONFIG tool ..from the RUN command just type MSCONFIG to see what u have running
