  • Sorry, I did mean the textured embossing plates, thank you for responding so quickly!! :)

  • I meant to ask you if you can use the textured plates in the Sizzix Big Shot?

  • @craftymagnets If you mean textured embossing plates, yes, by all means.

  • Very informative tutorial, thank you for sharing it with us.

"Merry Christmas".......Looking forward to next years video's!

  • Hi, Can you use a Marianne snowflake Die in this machine? Do you have any? I am looking for a video xx

  • @74nsm I don't know, I have not used this type of die. However, the Big Shot is a universal machine so the odds are good that you can

  • very nice ..thanks

  • hi do you know if you could use copper etchings to emboss through this maching, just i noticed you used cuttlebug.

  • @TheMuffinMano7 I have not tried that, but I suspect you could.

  • hi, I'm from the Netherlands and was only thinking about cuttlebug, but now I thing it's gonna be the big shot!! It's great! So, saving up now hope to get it soon!!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @kortekaasje Great. I hope you enjoy your Big Shot. I know I do.

  • I bought this machine yesterday and have just embossed! thank you so much for this fab video :) x

  • @charlibabe Congrats on your new toy. Now you must feed it regularly with new dies and embossing folders! LOL

  • Thanks so much for your video, I am a newbee to this tool. You explained very well and clearly so that now I feel confident that I can use the big shot. I have only two cutting dies at the moment and 8 embolssing folders, and fell that I can now purchase more cutting dies. Thanks so much - Jasann

  • @jasann100 I must warn you that buying dies is addictive. Especially Spellbinders Nestabilities! LOL

  • hi! where can we purchase the cardstock paper that is already cut to fit on this big shot machine?

  • @cynambo I wouldn't know. I cut mine myself using a paper trimmer.

  • @nightcats oh ok! thanks!

  • Your video was helpful as a new user of the Sizzix machine!!-Thanks

  • @aliciajuarezgarcia Thank you for letting me know.

  • I am on my iPod and can't get to your channel from here :) but I have been thinking about you and wondering where your videos are?!? I hope all is well and you are doing good....Sarah

  • @sarah20az Hi Sarah. Its true I haven't published a new video for awhile. I have been preoccupied with the unfortunate necessity to earn a living. LOL I expect to have some new vids up before long.

  • hi can you use the quickutz letterpress in this machine???

  • @doolie82 I don't have the letterpress, but I believe you could use it The Big Shot is a universal die cutting machine and as such is supposed to use any die or embossing folder. It works fine on ordinary Quickutz dies.

  • Hola me gustaria que me ayuden a adquirir esta maquina con sus accesorios , el precio en dolares y si me la podrian enviar a Ecuador.

  • Sorry, I can't do that.

  • Hi, just love your videos. I have a question, can you use the Fiskars embossing plates in the Big Shot? Thanks for your vids

    Rosemary

  • I haven't tried this, but my guess is that yes, you can. The Big Shot is a universal machine so it is supposed to handle all plates.

  • That's a very helpful video. I couldn't decide which machine to get for quite some time.

Now I saw your video and you explain it so good that I can use dies from other companies and how to do it that I just ordered this machine ;-)

Thank you very much for making such a easy to understand video!

  • Good for you for ordering this machine. I know you won't regret it.

  • I have the machine for about two weeks now and I used some different tools like a Sizzlits and a Sizzix Originals cutting die (I hope that's the right term) AND some cheap embossing templates and I even made one myself and it all works!

    I'm so happy with it.

I can't wait to get the other dies I ordered *g*

Your vid really made me sure that I got the right thing!

    Thanks again!

  • Glad to know I enabled someone else with a crafting addiction! LOL Thanks for posting.

  • how awesome, I love the cuttlebug embossing folders over the sizzix ones, I don't own either or the embossing plates but I kept hearing that its a way you can use other items on the big shot. Thank yo so much for showing me how to do it. I have a big shot and a cricut. ( I sold my cuttlebug, because I never opened it passed a few months) I want to be able to make my mini albums using the bigshot instead of the cricut, because I think I would save money with the mat and blade. TFS Crystal

  • Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'm sure you'll have great success with your mini albums.

  • I have a cricut with sure cuts a lot program.... I want this big shot, but dies seem to be so expensive.......I like the embossing and how you can cut thicker things with the big shot. What do you think, do you have a cricut or something to a cricut similar too?

  • Yes, I do have a Cricut. I seldom use it. If I had to choose, it would be the Big Shot, hands down. The Cricut has its fans and certainly its a good machine. I find it awkward to use, but probably that's just me. Oh, I just remembered, I believe you can now buy a special cutting blade for the Cricut that will cut through thicker materials.

  • I' m about to get my Big Shot Sizzix and I can't wait! I like that when you do your tutorials, you speak slowly and carefully so I understand. I also love that there was multiple things you shared. I appreciate patient people like you...cause I'm slow sometimes :) haha. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your nice comments -- and I want to assure you, I am slow also! I struggle to learn to use new tools and sometimes can't follow the instructor in a class!

  • I always love your videos! Thank you for sharing!

    Dawn-Marie

  • And thank you for your nice comment.

  • Thank you kindly for doing this tute.

  • You are most welcome.

  • Thanks for doing this. I had no idea how they worked. Great that you mentioned things the manufacturer doesn't, for example that you may scratch the plastic plates.

  • Yes, I scratched the plates like mad and went back to the craft store to ask what I was doing wrong. Nothing, it seems!

  • Thanks so much for shareing you knowledge on Big Shot i have just purchased one so was very interested in your video. giving me ideas.

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • Very informative! I love the embossing and was thinking of buying one of the machines either the sizix big shot or the cuttlebug. Any suggestions? Okay, thanks for sharing! :)

  • I agonized over the choice myself but went with the Big Shot in the end. I have a blog post comparing the two machines. My blog is Scrapping by Design
