They should do a second version where's stork has a drinking problem and while delivering he accidentally drops the child and he sits in a wheel chair for rest of his life.
@myheadhurtss according to wikipedia at least one white stork (the type in the ad) lived to 39 years, so that part of it isn't actually that implausible. More plausible than the bit about it delivering the baby anyway... but still I find this ad very powerful.
A remarkable commercial, but the sad irony is that this commercial was undoubtedly conceived in large corporate offices, offices which are perhaps operated by proverbial husks who are chasing nothing more than monetary carrots, not unlike the unnamed male character in this commercial.
Ignore the fact that this is an advertisement for a company. Manipulate it into something you can use to inspire yourself. Grasp it, hold on to it with your life, and let it fuel your dreams and propel your life into the future you create for yourself.
This is advertising at it's worst. First I thought this was a critique of modern extreme capitalism where people are not considered as wonderful and unique beings but as a minced meat needed to run the gears of business and money. But was I wrong!!!
Let me just quote you only two quotes about advertising:
1) Society drives people crazy with lust and calls it advertising.
2) Advertising - a judicious mixture of flattery and threats.
There's no need for at least 60% work places today...
While some join the army to rape and pillage, some stay at home to provide logistics. What kids watching this see as dreams and beauty are really seeds of their future nightmares and misery. It will be too late when they find out they were sold, not helped and nurtured to know better.
this is advertising at it's finest. i loathe marketing, and was a little disappointed that you only chose those two quotes. i'm an artist myself and can appreciate what went into this ad. it makes me smile whenever i see a well-crafted commercial like this, it gives me some hope that not everyone in marketing are heartless, out-of-touch bastards. now Head-On had advertising at it's worse.
i really hope to go into advertisment, and absolutely love the message this ad has, and i like the presentation. :) it really inspires me as an artist as well. :D
This is a masterpiece. I can't believe how much I was moved watching this. It even made me cry and reflect on my own life. I think this commercial can change people's lives.
That stork truly saw something special in that child. That's why it risked its life to deliver him to his anticipating family in safety. Years later the stork revisits the child-now an adult with the hopes that he's made something of himself in the world-only to find him in a job that is truly beneath him. Beautiful commercial.
@glowworm2 Great representation of what happens to parents these days. They bust their asses for years to give the kid a safe, comfortable place to live and develop. Most parents think their baby is special, above average, until the kid himself proves otherwise.
Beautiful commercial. I wish it would be shown in my country. Sadly 99% of commercials out there are lame, only few are created in such way that they would actually create interest in the viewers mind and wouldn't make him want to switch channels. I rarelly rank, but this is worth the best rank there is + favourite. Amazing.
we wonder what kind of decisions are the defining ones which made us what we are today,
then we look at the future and imagine what it holds,
only few lived in the present, knowing that whatever the lessons of the past can teach us and whatever the future holds and become, the most important moment to make change is now.
We are in charge of our lives, even though no one taught us how. The stork's duty is done, now is our time, till time's up.

The worst part is that the sap doesn't know the lengths the stork went through to get him safely to a family and possible life.

"The sap doesn't know the length the stork went through to get him safely to a family and possible life."
Did not know...or just realizing?
I thought (or like to think) the look on the stork's face is that of a reminder, and not condemnation.
