  • this song was the creepiness in diablo 1 lol then again 1 was 9years old

  • haha sickness!

  • yeah, diablo was my inspiration to play guitar, this song actually was it who was motivating to buy a bass and than i moved on playing guitar to. i always were wanted to play such weird, creepy sounds to scare people haha now i'm hearing death metal.

  • nostalgia, it's the new drug

  • The guitar really rocks. This game is still one of my favorite games. I have never seen any other games with such an atmosphere again! I have never read the books. Seems to be a good time to start....

  • 2 people were riped off by Wirt before entering the caves.

  • Watch out!

in comes acid spitters, lightning lizards, and fire breath demons!

  • @Shadowfire74 and rhinos...

  • @Shadowfire74 Not to forget the Storm Riders who casted lightnings at you while trapped in a puddle of acid that drained your health like a child sippin' some milk. Damned creatures. -.-

  • i like the guitar squeel and the drums

  • diablo 3 = wow+torchlight had a baby

  • "not enough mana"

  • @grin0184 I have no room

  • I admit it, I couldn't ever get past the dungeons.

    ...It's hot down here.

  • One of the reasons that I love this game is this fantastic music

  • :01-:50 Is so fucking Epic

  • 2:51, what the fuck is that?

  • @Agent1W that's Gharbad the weak masturbating.

  • @zaelie So charming...a goat-demon doing that.

  • @Agent1W Baby crying in slowmotion. True.

  • @HUNBarnus99 That's more relieving than the first answer I got!

  • @Agent1W the real zombie creepy sound...not what u get from movies and games nowdays...oldschool zombie motherfucker. I remember hearing this in 97'...now that was an experience.

  • @Agent1W sighs of a never-resting soul, being haunted by horrible nightmares, painful memories, unreachable desires and lost dreams of its past

  • @Agent1W Some lost soul burnin' in a lava-stream?! Wuah. ^^

  • @Agent1W are u 4 real ??

  • @FREEZERQC Yes! But questions like mine, much less the answers therein, are perhaps better left alone...

  • @Agent1W babies cry in slow-motion. no doubt.

  • @Agent1W Creepy awesome shit. That's what.

  • Someone know the guitar tabs for it 1:08 - 2:00 ?

  • Not in town.

  • Get Diablo 1 at my channel. With Color fix for Windows 7!

  • @Mixzer0

AoE 1-2 has color problems too. The solution is to alt-tab back to windows, then open the resolution options screen. And that's it. Might as well work with diablo.

  • @Limrasson works, ive done it.

  • I gotta pawn some of this stuff off.

  • Too much Baggage!

  • Now thats one big mushroom!

  • And just when you need it...........Not enough mana...

  • diablo I soundtrack is so awesome!

  • It is hot down here...

  • And dont forget your own quote when you finally meet the epic Diablo and he dies in a single hit.

    mine? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?

  • Why can't video game music be this kick ass anymore? This scared the shit out of me when i was a little kid. Masterful.

  • oh god. those acid spitting 4 legged demons! i can hear them in my head

    "BLAH! BLAH!!"

"ugh! ugh!" *slash slash* *loot drop noise... loot land noise*

    I cant carry anymore.

  • Its as if i can hear the lava toads in the backround

  • man i hope d3 will have music like this

  • @fr1x sorry it won't, i already listened to all of the ones they will have in the beta

  • Blizzard is the only company that cares about making the best game possible

  • @iamkillermonkey The company to which you are referring is gone.

  • MsHojat is right. In fact, there are extremely few games one could call RPGs.

    Read this: insomnia.ac/commentary/on_role-playing_games/

  • too true but the orchestra is nice at times too

  • I wish blizzard would make music like this again, nowadays everything just has to be some damn pompous orchestra score.

  • even the grafics were quite good for a 15 years old game ... grafics of diablo 2 are not THAATTT better

  • I like not more the design from Diablo 3, a mix from WoW, Warcraft 3, LotR!

  • Throne of Darkness was a pretty good game, made by some of the designers of the first Diablo after leaving Blizzard North.

  • Diablo isn't even an RPG. It's just called an RPG by people because it has character progression. That said, what does a horror game even benefit from being an RPG or having character progression?

If you want a horror game play that (resident evil, fatal frame, silent hill, amnesia, penumbra, even doom3?), if you want an RPG or character progression, play that (Baldur's gate series, icewind dale series, planescape:torment, world of warcraft, etc.).

Scariest action-adventure sure, but so what?

  • @MsHojat rpg = role play game ,and it is

  • @Lethani no... my entire point is that it is not a role-playing game, unless you call every single video game a role playing game (which is stupid and pointless). Diablo is no more of a role playing game than super mario world. Both games have dialogue and story, both games you control 1 character throughout the game, etc.

Diablo has no meaningful choices to align with a certain faction or to achieve a certain goal. it's just a linear trip with 1-way read-only dialogue.

  • @MsHojat role playing games are usually characterized by choosing the stats and skills of your character (with much of the game determined by calculations of your stats/skills) and using that character to play your way through whatever obstacles lie in your path, whether they be linear or sprawled out in a non-linear fashion.

    Diablo 1 was an RPG.

  • @Jarbizu800 no, those are games that might be called RPG by many people but they are not RPG. It's like calling twister a board game. Diablo 1 was a action-adventure/roguelike, people may just call it RPG because it's been twisted by some to a stupid and unclear meaning.

  • @MsHojat it's called a roguelike

  • @brainjuice654 true, although rogue like has always had this connotation/denotation of turn-based play and/or crappy graphics. It's strange/shame how that term stuck with those games (and kinda died off), as opposed to jumping boat with the new games that are very much based off them, like Diablo. At the least these games could be called real-time rogue-likes or something. That said, action-adventure is still a certainly viable category name in my books just as rogue-like.

  • Man you are so right. No other RPG Games came as close to Diablo with that violence, blood, horror and evilness. Once came Titan Quest which was also not bad but in questions horror it failed so badly against Diablo :D Let's see how part 3 is going to be horrible :D

  • damn this game is a work of art.

  • here is a good place to spam flame wave a lot...

  • Sorry did'nt mean to mispell your name.

  • @kayakofan that moan in 2:50 is creepy as hell.

  • 2:50 wtf O_O !

  • @Kayakofan66 hahaha.. i like you're reaction, and when i pressed 2:50.. i just totaly agree xD

  • sees trapped chest

"oh it's prolly just another arrow trap i can just dodge it"

    *opened trapped chest*

    "omgz lightning aoe!!!"

  • 2 people did not like hot magma and lightning thrown at them

  • Comment removed

  • did the fingers of 2 people slip and hit the dislike button? must have been..

  • ive never played d1, only played d2

this music is so sick that i just have to play it

  • When Blizzard lost Matt Uelmen, they lost their magic. Even in WoW all the tracks composed by Matt make the game so much mor ein depth and enjoyable. Strange how just a tune of music can alter your percetpions of game play.

  • @art11art12 Strange? Not that strange mate. Consider the fact that you use mostly vision and hearing to experience gaming.

That makes music affect 50% of it ;). If that 50% wins, you are halfway in your recipe of awesomesauce!

  • @art11art12 I know. I changed out all the dungeon music of oblivion to play these songs and it makes it feel like your playing an entirely new game.

  • @art11art12 Did he leave too?

  • for an isolated town populated by what appears to be about 6 or 7 houses worth of people, those tristram fuckers sure can dig pretty far.

  • The first ever Blizzard game i play was WarCraft 2,

and 2nd one is StarCraft, and then i played WarCraft 1,

then Warcraft 3,and then Diablo 1,then right now

im installing Diablo 2.I wish i hadnt waste my 14.95 $

    on Amazon......

  • @TheXeno2000 holy shit, my first was warcraft 2 as well. of course my pattern went WC2, diablo1, WC3, SC1 then diablo2, then WC1. and diablo 2 was good, just not as good as the first.

  • @TheXeno2000 What was the waste? They are all quality games

  • "Its hot down here!"

  • *reinstalls*

  • This was, *the* best music. Seriously; defined the game, defines the series in my opinion.

I was loving the game, hit this atmospheric level, and it just blew my mind.

    Turn it up.

    Turn it up loud.

  • Too much baggage!

  • I remember waiting for 1:08 before starting to whack every single beast on the level XD

  • @ATDOINFERNO same here. Felt like it gave you more courage ( on Hell mode )

  • Trippiest motherfuckin music I have ever heard and if I might add it scared the everloving shit out of me in my youth. ALL PRAISES TO DIABLO!!!!

  • I loved the music in this level. Great atmosphere.

  • Man, I REALLY loce the musci in this game. And I particularly like how they implemented electric guitars in this song.

  • its hot down here.

  • 2:50... friggin scary, in the dark, by yourself, and 13 years old

  • @guttywurx fuck you, i played this when i was seven.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 bullshit lol!

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 What a badass.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 U beat me by 2 years. 9 years old here.

  • Comment removed

  • The guitars on 3:47 is super creepy. NIIICE!!

  • this is badass music, some of the best for any video game

  • 'it's hot down here'

  • The best from this track is between 1:06 - 2:00

  • hey osama bin laden are you down here? no its just decard cain.

  • swapping back and forth between lightning and firebolt was such rage

  • Reminds me of working in a foundry.

  • At 4:57 the soundtrack stops.

  • Rofl...looks like this music has 141 likes and one misclick:-D

  • I've played this game a couple months ago for the first time, just to see if its worth the hype. Initially I found it simplistic and dated but as I scoured deeper into the depths, I've become hypnotized by the atmosphere that made feel like I was there. I wasn't scared but there I was always in teeth gritting suspense mode, especially when opening a door. Fucking fantastic game, I wish I've played it earlier.

  • I dont know why but that retard sound in 2.52 always makes me laugh. I know it should sound like scream of agony

  • not bad at all

  • Oh god, please someone post tabs for that guitar riff.

  • It is hot down here

  • Lol the one person who disliked either has no taste in music, is a cycotic idiot, pressed it by accident, or is some messed up noob that cannot think for himself, or could have no idea what diablo is and just marked thumbs down for no reason.

  • man this track kicked(kicks) ASS!!!!

  • Why is it that with all the advancements in computing technology is there not a single game to rival d1? There is NOTHING out there that was even half as horrific/gothic as diablo. Fuck, even the music was scary as shit in diablo.. Today's rpgs don't even come close to it's terror. Diablo is basically the ONLY rpg to be classified as quality horror. Even horror movies can't compare with this. Grrr I miss the days when games were perfected rather than the same shit over and over with new graphics

  • @Velomekk Well, Blizzard does tend to perfect their games before releasing them (hence why we don't get release dates ever).

  • @Velomekk So true, Diablo truely lived upto his name as the lord of terror!

  • @Velomekk I agree. The only time I ever started sweating out of fear was when I heard "MMMM... fresh meat" from the Butcher. Ah that was brutal...

  • @Velomekk Uh actually, The HL-mod "Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut" is pretty horrifying too. Had to stop playing it several times because I was seriously frightened. The spastic movements of the low quality zombies running at you are damn unnerving.

  • @Velomekk Doom 3 wasnt that bad...

  • @Velomekk Path of Exile might be good, Diablo 3 is too cartoony

  • @Velomekk Shadow man for psx I found equally horrible... in both sound and visual.

  • @Velomekk man this comment is a year old, but i completely agree with you, when i was younger playing this on ps1, the game/music just scared me sometimes, so dark and deep, so gothic. Till this day i still love and play diablo1 & 2 they never get old

  • @Velomekk Because back then developers had an idea for something great, and passion to carry it out to fruition. Today developers want to make as much money as they can, and create watered down work that appeals to as wide an audience as possible. Naturally, you can't expect work like that to ever be that good, despite how much it sells.

  • @ComeToJesus very true

  • 2:50 sounds like diablo had an orgasm

  • @hardrock3r1648

Oh damnit, now I'm gonna have that visual in my head every time I heard that sound!

  • @Girlysprite lol

  • @hardrock3r1648 LOOOLLLLLL but i never saw diablo having a sexual organ at diablo series wich is wierd cause at d2 act 5 there were a monster with penis... HELL I WAS REALLY SCARED WHEN I SAW IT.

  • @Cromaxor he is the dark lord of terror - he doesnt need a penis :)

  • @medouch but he could use a couple of balls because he hides like a puss

  • @medouch the soul stone is his dick thus making him a dickhead

  • The sound starting at 2:28 scares me... D=

I always wondered wtf was the sound at 2:50 =P

  • 2:50 is the way i wake up

  • The zombie moan is actually a BABY CRYING pitched down!

  • @printz150 For some reason that makes it so much more terrifying. :<

  • 2:50 is the funniest sound ever^^

  • one of the creepiest sounds ever

  • I prefer by far the 3:33 one !! <3

  • I prefer the 3:33 one by far !

But it is another stye... <3

  • This is my favorite song from original Diablo, except for maybe the Tristram theme. Somehow, it speaks to every single one of my irrational fears.

  • This song always kind of reminded me of the intro to "Everybody Wants Some" by Van Halen.

  • @CaliforniaTD Holy shit you're right.

  • if i look at the right eye then the DIABLO seems laughing, if i look at the left eye of DIABLO then he seems to be angry.

  • Thats how my undead looks like in world of warcraft!

  • he's doing both.

  • @vekalist

Lmao. I am going to be reminded of that every single time I see that from now on. That is quite observant of you.

  • what is that instrument on main riff that starts at 1:08 is it bass guitar on effects or regular guitar (on effects too)

  • Looking at the image of Diablo and listening to this masterpiece of doom, makes me glad lights are on and there is no such thing as demons!

  • Anyway i just like to add

    3. They should make a movie with the same settings as the orginal Diablo with exactly the same music as the Hero enters the unholy catacombs and ventures to hell. This would be fucking awesome i tell you :D

  • I think Blizzard should rethink what made the first Diablo Epic and still very much unforgettable by gamers upto now.

    1. The background music is no doubt fits the game really well. It's cool yet dark rhythm is just perfect for the scary atmosphere.

    2. Graphics may not stand out much but the the storyline and gameplay alone is enough to make gamers stay enthusiastic

  • This song shreds my soul, love it, and the memories it carries

  • Or rather, 5 pieces... for some reason, I never count the Tristram theme.

  • The caves music is the best of the 4 pieces from Diablo I... where else can you find shredding electric guitar that fits into a medieval fantasy setting?

  • I love the caves music, it really gives off a demonic/evil feeling, it actually might have been better suited for the final level hell, its to bad diablo 2 was a turn away from this feeling. I do hope diablo 3 tries to implement this from d1 though as this is the best that d1 has to offer and what made diablo Diablo.

  • amazing atmosphere on this track... i miss when game composers were this creative with their instrumentation and approach

  • I wonder how close to digging to China the guys in Tristram got before they hit hell.

  • @xDurandalx They dug too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness . . .

  • @xDurandalx What church needed a zillion fucking levels of catacomb?

  • @Rereversed If I had a church, Id want it to have a zillion levels of catacomb. We could train secret orders designed to take over the world in secret.

  • @Rereversed Well if you kill fucking everyone who goes to your church then you need a zillion fucking levels of catacomb, especially if your church has essentially become your world's first tourist attraction.

  • @xDurandalx They made it to both at exactly the same time somehow

  • @xDurandalx That was China!

  • @Transcendent0ne I don't get it.

  • The only things I can remember:

1.)Tearing demons shoot lightning out of nowhere.

2.)The inferno demons come up to you and breathe fire all over you until you are stunned, then here come more of them, and more...and more...and MORE until you are dead!
