Mark McManus was Taggart but the name was kept as it is basically the programmes brand name.

*drools* I adore this guy, I adore the entire cast of Taggart, looking forward to Xmas Eve, I shall be glued to the television. Watched Taggart since I was a kid, am now 37. Actors may change throughout the years, but the show just gets better and better. Long may it continue......
