The war was happening during Pink's youth, and he lost his father in the war, and that loss is a big part of what went on in his head and was certainly a big "brick" that contributed to his wall. Thats why there is a lot of emphasis on the war. The songs "Vera Lynn" and "Bring the Boys Back Home" on the album are war-related songs. Google "Vera Lynn" for details about her if your curious.
