Right on review mate! This was my first case, and after 6months of use, I totally agree with ya. Very nice thermal performance with crossfire GPUs, but the cabling, IMO, is terrible. First, is the fan mess.. But second, is the fact that the MoBo tray doesn't extend to the drive bays. That gap is terrible, and IMO, is a major fault. Those two items have driven me mad since day one. And its a shame, because otherwise, I really like the case for an air cooled rig. But, Ive moved on.
Would it be possible to hook all the fans up to a seperate fan controller with 4 channels instead (like Scythe Kaze Master)? While still being able to controll the LED's from the top fan controller? From what i can make out from your review it's possible, but i'd like to be sure. Also, I'm thinking of putting a Sunbeam Hyper Light in there since i have the window version of this case. Would it be possible to hook it up to the case's fan controller to dim the light on that? Thanks for the review!
@TimeToLiveCustoms after a lot of googling around on the connectors i think it should be possible. I just need some convertors from molex to 3 pins to go into my fan controller or i need to make the wires myself. Either way.. i'll get it working hehe
@TechnoManification its possible to hook the fans to a fan controller no problem. You could still keep the light button work aswell. I haven't hooked my light up to the case fan controller though, as mine couldnt be dimmed. But it is possible and not very hard to just hook the fans up to a fan controller.
@TechnoManification yea, there are 2 connectors on every fan. One for the fan and one for the light. If you leave the light connectors connected to the case, it will work just fine :)
I have a sli gtx 260 with Corsair 850w and was wondering if it will fit this case, I don't know how much thicker or thinner 4870 is, but looks like you mange to fit it pretty comfortably. Looks a little tight at the bottom between graphics card and power supply... I just don't want to buy it and RMA it because it doesn't fit, any help would be appreciated.
I had to fit new wires to fans so I could run them around the edges of the case and up to a junction/controller which a m8 custom. Now m8 is gone and I sold my box with the custom junction/controller in it. Now I got a antec900 which is ok but still need to do something about fan wires and powercables. At the moment their just noobed behind the mobo but I know the new i7 gonna need more love and I am gonna have to custom the lead lengths no matter which case I choose.
Had absolutely no problem hiding all the cables, the guy didn't notice their is plenty of space for fitting all the cables behind the motherboard tray, tss tss
@Nutriment6464 If you watch all the vids I speak about behind the mobo quite a few times matey, the wires I was refering to are the fan wires for the side of the case ;)
that's good cable management, everyone's gonna have a mess behind the motherboard under the right side panel you can't get away from that; but I agree with him, that some cases or setups just don't allow the best cable management;
but I can't hardly see any cables when looking inside the case anyhow; that's great fricken cable management I think !!
nice review. very well done and well explained 5/5 But please do your videos a favor because they are so great, use the money from a build to buy an HD Camera!
@phoenix9990 The whole mesh side has a filter behind it.

@DGMRuadeil not unless you plan on wiring it yourself. Its not something you can just bolt up Im affraid dude.

@TimeToLiveCustoms What would be the exact problem? The connectors? I could just replace those to fitting ones. I assume the fans use molexes?

@GamingGeek97 This one has better cooling, but the corsair has cleaner and sleeker design. So its really depends.

Any rad option up top ?
Saltire35 2 years ago
Only coolermasters rad with the wanky 20mm spacings, so not really no :(
bit of a let down like the 922
TimeToLiveCustoms 2 years ago
You can actually mount a 2x120 rad up there
David12King 2 years ago
Its 20mm spacings. Its designed for the CM rad, old XSPC rads fit if you put the screws in wonky, but new industry standard 15mm rads will not fit.

Umm, can't the front I/O cables be tucked away any better? If not then I'm probably going to pass this one.
videosurfer69 2 years ago
Would it have been better to have the front fans in taking air and the side and top fans extracting the warm air from the case?
Ominou5 2 years ago
No as that would have pulled air away front the GPU fans. Side fans should really be set to blow into a case, especialy if there is a roof fan.
