Normal situations yes. In this situation we catch bunches of nice Snook and they tend to fray through the leader extremely fast if we use lighter leader. It also stresses the fish out if we play them for more than 1 or 2 minutes in the warm water of the summer.

when I saw the snook in the water I was thinking, Ive caught one about that size.  Then you took it out of the water and I thought "that fish eats my big snook for a snack!" Great video love all of them

We used an 8/0 Eagle Claw live bait hook with 80lb leader and a 1/2 oz weight to get the bait to the bottom.

We were using either 50 or 80 pound braided line. We use Suffix braid now. Have fun in Destin.
