  • ok im really sick and tired of people hating adds

without them there will be no video

  • 644800 i have taken away one number what number am i thinking aboute, i have done like he said with the nine.

  • wtf...i got the same number as 7:06

  • You mean DIGIT, not number!

  • Same principle but a little further removed from 9: Chose any 5 digit number (or any big number), scramble the digits and form a second number. Subtract the smaller from the larger.

Again pick one digit and read off the rest, and apply the rule of 9.

  • 5:21, the awkward moment when you ask for a high five and you get a hug

  • 4x8x9x5x7x9x5xhx8x5xdx7x9xax7x0x7x5x3x=? YOU KNOW WHAT FUCK THIS IM GOING TO BE A STRIPER

  • whayyy it;s @singingbanana!

  • As long as you don't hit 3 or 6 or 9 you would've been able to outsmart him.

  • digit digit....digit digit.....digit

  • He shod atleast put the ads at the end of the video

  • if you guys fucking hate avertisments thumbs up

  • @iMODuFREE That's how we get this stuff for free dumbass

  • 8:19, the nearest multiple of 9 i 18, o wol te secret numer be 1, not 8?

  • @wildcatproduction i guess it's the nearest multiple up

  • HOLY **** YOU ARE AMAZING im sub-ing now :D

  • what if the number of the added digits is a multiple of 9

so is the secret number 0 or 9

  • I tried this.. but I happened not to choose 9 or 6 or 3..

  • i've seen comments saying that Brian was a high school drop-out.

well after seeing how well and fast and efficiently he added those numbers, which a lot of people can't do at that speed or accurately, also considering there's thousands of scamschool videos uploaded, i see this man as a genius.

  • @tommyv331992 Just because someone is a drop out doesn't mean they're not smart lol

  • @celticguardian951 I'm not saying he's the next Stephen Hawking. If you take the average Joe and put him up against Brian Brushwood for a simple addition contest, Brian would come out on top because he can add as fast as a calculator, and most people are way slower and/or need calculators. I'm not saying I believe he is smart because he is a high school dropout, that's stupid. I'm saying he has shown a quality that most people don't have. Comprende?

  • okay, so what if they give you the 8 digits, and they actually add up to a multiple of 9? lets say the add up to 27? would it be '0' cos there's no difference between the number you added up and the nearest multiple?

  • What about this one?

    I got 215728000.

    Added up equals 25.

My magic secret number is "0".

    The nearest multiple of 9 to 25 is 3 x 9 which is 27.

    27 - 25 = 2.

But 2 is not my secret number? It was 0!

  • @CoonEyed

because you didn't follow the rules!

Two of the factors of this number are

    97 and 139

which means when you created this number, you didn't do it by multiplying only SINGLE DIGIT NUMBERS!

  • LOL @ THE TWITTER INSTRUCTIONS AT THE BEGINNING...

HE JUST SCAMMED YOU GUYS INTO GETTING MORE FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER.

    LULZ.

  • You can impale a school of fish with that hair

  • hmmmz... I found one that dooesn't works...

    2*2*8*2*2*8*2*2*8*2*2*8*2*2*8

    = 33554432

    (i chose 4) now 3+3+5+5+4+3+2=25

Now my secret number is 2...(27-25=2 ?)

    help me out please

  • @shad0x8 Part of the trick was assuming most people at some state would use a multiple of 9 or even a 6x3=18 another multiple of 9, for the trick to work. You're number was created without any multiples of 9 so it won't work. Rule of 9@ 6:00

  • @shad0x8 No, you didnt multiply by 9 like he said.

  • my number was 3810240....so what my secret number i cant figure it out? I chose 8...so the sum of 3+1+2+4=10...and the nearest multiple is 1, cuz 9*1=9 close to 10. SO 10-1 = 9? NOT 8. wtf?

  • @fix520 so true !!!!!

  • @fix520 He said it wrong and you had a wrong step. You see the nearest multiple would be 9, not 1, because 9*1=9, so 9 is the multiple. BUT, 9-10 would equal -1, so you need to go with the next one, which is 18, 18-10 = 8. And that's your secret number.

  • @kookook2 u got it ;)

  • I think may be the rule is that you can't multiply with just one number, eg, 2x2x2x2x2....

  • I'm stuck at these two numbers:

20(9)7152 (9) as the secret number

1193(3)52 (3) as the secret number

  • @browneye1968 In the case of the first number, since you chose 9, all I did was make the zero a ten. Which then makes the sequence add up to 27, after that I just added the digits together. Do the same thing with the other.

  • What about these two numbers - 2097152 and 1193352

  • Amazing. Now i love math even more.

  • Wait a minute, isn't 18 a product of 9? (2 * 9 = 18) That's only ONE away from 19. It's closer than 27.

  • @redmatrix You don't subtract you add. Say the number was 5554(?). The sub-total is 19, and we know that all the numbers have to add to 9, 18, 27, 36....etc. So if they have to add up to one of these, 19 is between, 18 and 27 so the number must be 8.. 55,548.

    55,54(-1) is not a numebr

  • This dude has the best t-shirts ever.EVER.

  • Got this fool again, not even a trick. I did 2 x 2 x 2... until I got to 2097152. Glad I didn't waste my time, Cinco de Mayo was a bunch more fun.

  • easy trick as hell u add all the number that the told you and eg we get 21 and then u need to think how many you need in order when u add this 2 digit u will get 9. so its 6! number is from the video. 21+6 =27 2+7 =9

  • @XFactorMania If you get this number: 1193352 and imagine one of the 3 as your secret digit, it doesn't work cause you get 21 and the 6 is not that secret number ; )

  • @everyoneSalegend but it is 3 if you count from 18 bit trickie

  • Awww. It's not completely foolproof. If they do use the digits 3/6/9, does it work past the billions?

  • @HoshiHikari works up to infinite digits where the number has a factor of 9. But calculators display about 8-10 digits (numbers in the millions, ten millions, 100 millions, billions)

  • so its not the nearest multiple of nine, but its the nearest multiple of nine thats higher

  • after reading comments below me...

i realize that it is useless to watch this video...

  • thats just stupid cuz all ur gonna do is multiply the numbers..DUH

  • hey james grime is singing banana on youtube... isn't he?

  • @SixpackSoap Yes.

  • alt+f4 to skip ads.

  • @faquiado hehe nice try :P

  • @faquiado or Ctrl + W

  • @faquiado sad thing is i belived it :P good job

  • lol i worked this out before he revealed it because i know the card trick called 'the power of 3'

  • i LOVE singingbanana, when i knew the guy was from cambridge university and the puzzle is about math i was like, hey SINGINGBANANA

  • i failed multiple times because of 0 and 9

  • What happens if my mystery number is 0 of 9? They end up the same on a mutiple of nine.. so do i take a shot in the dark of if it is a 0 or 9?

  • lol i was lazy so i did 4^10.. wudnve fooled me

  • @overblast0000 10 isn't a single digit number... that's why it doesn't work for you i guess

  • @ClujDevil 4^10 = 4*4*4*4*4*4*4*4*4*4

  • @ClujDevil (so it doesn't work because the only prime factor of the number generated is 2)

  • It's to the NEXT HIGHEST multiple of 9, not the closest.

  • yeah... I dont mean to be like the others but..

18 is closer than 27 .-. anybody going to answer what's going on?

  • @ShadowBowser64 you have to go up the SUM of the numbers is a multiple of 9 so if your on 19 you would have to subtract to get to 18, therefore to get to the next multiple of 9 you must add 8 to the number

  • @ShadowBowser64 yes i had the same problem then figured out the multiple cannot be a negative it has to be higher

  • @ShadowBowser64 The multiple cant be LOWER than the sum. Must be next HIGHEST multiple.

  • @AussieVlogging your a liar

  • isnt 18 nearer then 27???

  • isnt 18 nearer o.0

  • SKip to the video: 3:42

  • They never got to the trick in the title, damnit!

  • 3:48 thats the same guy from the cigarrete trick o;

  • thi is my fav show on youtube♥

  • u fancy huh?♪♪ ♫ ...

    u fancy huh?♪♪ ♫ .....

  • 0:01 skip ad

  • i dont wrely understand it can u give me some more information send me a mesage and tell me haw to do that because im not sure haw to do that :(

  • 3:26 to skip first ad

    9:24 to skip second ad

  • @SicKGUITARLickS i love you

  • if you multiply by 9 just once the result would be divisible by nine.

Add up the rest of the digits. Fx that would be 24. Now move up until you a number which is divisible by nine=27.

27-24=3 which is the secret number!

  • im waiting for u to send it to me

  • holy shit*&^(%^$%#*$(%) thats freakin awesome lol

  • i think there's something wrong...

the whole digit i got from multiplying is 5268480. suppose to be my secret number is 8. so i add up the rest of the digits 5+2+6+8+4+0 which is equals to 25. now, how will i get my secret number "8" if 27-25=2 or 25-18=7?

do you guys have any answer for this?

  • @ropeman1 It's not a multiple of 9.

  • @ropeman1+5+2+6+8+4+8+0 is 33, your number is not divisible by 9. make sure that you multiply by 9 at least one time!

  • fuck ads

  • Wow" looks like you have been combing with a firecracker.

Can't help but like the shows keep up the great work.

  • One slight problem...it's not the nearest multiple, it's the next multiple...for example...19...the NEAREST multiple of 9 is 18...but the next multiple is 27...the number needed

  • @BiggKat77 So it's always the next?

  • @BiggKat77 it´s not the closest number.

it´s the closest number which is HIGHER than 18=27.

  • Hey brushwood....your head rly looks like a brush...ok bad joke...sorry :(

  • actually you run into an issue if someone chooses 9 or 0 as their secret digit.. for example, multiplying 9*8*7*5*5*3*3*3*3*3*3 you get the number 64,297,800 if they choose 9 the sum of the important digits is 27 and you would then realize they have landed on a multiple of 9, meaning the next closest multiple is 9 or 0, however if they pick 0 as their secret digit, the sum of the important digits becomes 36, another multiple of 9 resulting in the same issue as before. Try it!

  • @xstiffler92x if you land on a multiple of nine that means their secret number was nine

  • @RipKord872 I means that their secret number is 0 or 9...

  • @pacocsharp no because 0 multiplied by anything is 0

  • @xstiffler92x this was explained in the video...it can happen, it now becomes a guess wether the answer is 0 or 9, this is why he explains on how you might get a reaction as to which digit they have chose by certain sugestions or subtle questions. Also quoted was that the chance of this happing is 10%, debatable.

  • thats really kool imma try it soon

  • haha the high dude from that other ep is actually a savant

  • haha this trick got me out of a detention in maths. i was like, ok so if i guess ur number, you let me off the detention. and it worked :P WIN

  • @AussieVlogging haha..nice:D

  • this is just maths times logic

  • hes not a tool or anything

  • His hair doubles as television antennas

  • in the video the girl comes out with 19, the closest multiple of 9 isnt 27, its 18. so shouldn't it equal 1? not 8? was that just a coincidence or are you supposed to pick the closest multiple upwards of your number?

  • @Maximus7190 its upwards ye:D

  • @Maximus7190 upwards, i think dude...

  • i had 65 856 000, and i chose a 6 as my secret number.

    which means 5+8+5+6+0+0+0 = 24.

the closest multiple to 9 was 27, however the difference between 27 and 24 is 3, so that doesn't work. But strangely the second closest multiple was 18, and hey! the difference between 18 and 24 is 6!

can master grime or brushwood explain me why? :)

  • i fooled a professional math teacher with that trick

  • @dimitrizeman100 are there non-professional math teachers then..?

  • @Rboysblaster people are good but even the BEST math teacher in the world can be fooled or make a mistake

  • @dimitrizeman100 uhm yes but you say professional maths teacher but my point is.. math teacher is profession, so are there any non-professional math teachers?

i said nothing about that they should know this ;)

  • To fucking confusing

  • this doesn't always works:P

  • this wins <3

  • that was cool!

  • fuck you ads. 0:01

  • Oh hey its the dude from the Ciggarette thingy :D

  • @TheStormHailer whatta ya mean?

  • @TurnerIT the dude from the EMBARRASS Dumb Smokers with Their Own Cigarettes! episode :)

  • @TheStormHailer oh ok I know what you are talking about now Thank You!(:

  • What is it some kind of pattern prediction trick?

  • this trick is good... the bad thing is im dumb in math LOL!

  • :o i got it i didnt even see wat he did

  • i dont get this shit

  • I REALLY LOVE SCAM SCHOOL!!!!! but the show is not in the Philippines T_T i think im the only know in the philippines that scam school's exist and my friends becoz i told them ehee RAISE UP SCAM SCHOOL!!! ohhh yah i would like to know the past episode i forgot which is it but "When brian's blowing the cap of the bottle it froze"

  • at the end they said it waz 8 cuz they said the closest multiple waz 27 but shouldnt it closest multiple have been 18?

  • hahaha thats awesome.

  • Wholesome entertainment=carebear? lol

  • dude when it is the number you get is 16 or lower you need to add 9...

  • dude wtf it doesn't work... i got number 15052800 annd i chosen number 5 so i got now 1052800 and i take then 1 + 0 + 5 + 2 + 8 + 0 + 0 = 16 and how can i find out my number is 5???

  • @TechnoMasterBoy The person has to have multiplied by 9 or 3 and 6 or 3 and 3 or 6 and 6.

  • MAN!!! i love this. i have gotten MULTIPLE beers with this one!! i owe you a beer brian!

  • 1175731200 this dosent work if you pick 5

  • @Ramhams1337 yea it does, 1+1=2 2+7=9 9+7=16 16+3=19 19+1=20 20+2=22 22+0=22 22+0=22 next highest number thats divisable by 9 is 27. 27-22=5

  • @Ramhams1337 because you're over 1,000,000,000

  • When the number in the end, you know, is more than 27, I think it doesn't work. Why?

  • FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!

  • If you get 699840 and you choose 9 ,so it will be 69?840 it will be hard to find the number. you might say 0, instead of 9

  • @J003S3PH DID YOU NOT WATCH THE VIDEO?!?! HE EXPLAINED THIS AT THE END?!?!?

  • watch my performance of what the blank by cameron francis :D

  • singingbanana is so awesome!

  • i tried doing this in front of my parents, and it didn't turn out so well:

when i asked my dad to hide one of the numbers, he interpreted it as hiding all of a certain type of number (i.e. hiding all of the 2's or hiding all of the 3's)

my mom didn't understand how the fucking calculator worked.

doing it in front of my friends, they kept going above or below a million or a billion.

holy shit it's annoying how stupid people can be.

  • @joshuawn HAHA!!!

  • if the number is 1250000

and their secret number is 0 5+2+1+0+0+0= 8

    closest multiple is 9

    9-8= 1 but isn't the secret number...

  • @wtfdood25 how did u get 1250000 anyways..

  • @wtfdood25 1250000 probably isn't a number able to be multiplied by single digits...

  • What was gods number?I need to report a bug.;

  • the hair looks so dumb.

  • @J003S3PH I had this same thing happen to me when I got to the number 39,191,040. I chose the number 9. If anyone is smart and knows this trick, they can trick the magician big time :p

  • @puppetmstr90 -.- your an idiot, 3+9=12 12+1=13 13+1=14 14+4=18 and they said when the number you get is divisable by 9, the answer is either 9 or 0 and to ask if the number is odd or even when this happens that way you can say the correct number.

  • it worked for me

    number 9x3 = 27

    secret = 7

    nearest to 2 is 9 -2 = 7

  • AWESOME :DDDD

  • This didn't work for me, maybe you have to multiply by numbers that add to 9...

  • awesome! ima try it on my friends

  • BRIAN YOU CRAZY WIZARD!

  • robertborgersen since ppl dont think that way when your out, and if you look at the whole video you see with some of them he actually starts the trick for them, and puts like 6*3 witch is 18 witch is a multiply of nine if you pres 5^n it will still work. etc. you just need to make it work :D

  • seriously? That's what I've been waiting for??? I saw that trick as soon as I heard the puzzle, but then I said, what if I took 5*5*5*...*5 until I was up there...then it wouldn't work!

    eg: 9765625

    secret: #7

    9+6+5+6+2+5 = 33 missing should be 3 (36), but it is 7.

Waited almost two months for this! BAH! :P

  • i dont get it

  • yeah he got it right on twitter. DAMN YOU AND YOUR GYPSY MAGIC

  • wow vid so good 30 sec add

  • James is so cute!

  • beautiful variation to the rule of 9!

  • so when I multiplied a series of 2s and 5s together, an finished with the number '2', it didn't like me giving out just the 0s

  • i sent you the number and you said either 0 or 9 and then chose 9 but it was 9... soo close

  • so if it adds up to 27, the secret numbers is 9?

  • finny brian! This took forever!
