there is a microphone left of the track around 2m far from the pit. if you compare the footplacement youll see, that banks jump-phase in nearly 1m further than simpkins.

why do people post, if they dont have a clue and dont want to do research?

this was the olympic trials competition juli 16. 1988 in indianapolis.

first you see the result of banks last jump 18,20m (+5.2), then you see simpkins last jump, and then the result 17,93m (+5.2)

you dont need to be sorry, even not sarcastic, concerning your own "opinions" on several videos. but it has nothing to do with opinion to call simpkins a jumper, that never came near 12m hop-step-distance. even if you are too young to have seen those two jump, you should be able to recognize.

@Stafanitus i never argued with you, i only saw this video a few days ago. im just saying talking down to people and being patronising wins no arguments cause the other party will never listen to what you say. being a triple jumper myself i have a thorough understanding of the event, but i wouldnt waste my time arguing over it on the internet.

...but you did a couple of times, even with patriotic issues, that dont stand the sport. but thats not my buisness. those old videos have potential to find some fans, coaches, athletes, that are in and interested in the event, but people, never have seen the athletes trust their eyes and impressions that much to swear, proof or bet about speeds distances etc, what prevents the interesting ones to join the discussion. just read what was writen on great jumps before, maybeyoullsee

i forgot one thing. self esteem is one thing, but you young talented athletes should be aware of the fact, that if you once represent your country on international level, your internet comments will still shine on you. so maybe you think twice, before you start conversations with your real name account. just an advice, no need to start another one on that. greets.
