  • cool song

  • can somebody tell me who is the maker of that trixordo bouzouki?

  • the song is not written by Katsaros, who performed it exceptionally. It is traditional. Katsaros talks about it in a video in youtube, where he states that he made the song in 1919, but what he menas is that he first recorded it that year...

The song belongs to both greek and turkish musical traditions. the national ego has always to prove itself thats why people fight for possesing what... a piece of art..art belongs(if say this) to those who are touched by it, not even to the creators.

  • teşşekürler madam bu şarkıyı sizden dinlemek gerçekten bürük zevk

  • @necromantiac666

..stole is not the rigth word,,you cant stole music and culture?you can adapt it and make it part of your heritage ,

  • Why are you so hilarious? When Ottoman was alive, every nations added something to their country's culture or take from each other. It was an empire...

  • I love Turkish people. My grandfather loved his Turkish neighbors even though the Turkish government took away his land. But whoever denies the Armenian or Greek genocide even with the evidence is an enemy of Truth and me.

  • Beautiful rendition of the song..and really who cares about the nationality ..I think we have so many similarities..and I'm half Greek/ Albanian!!!

  • Congratulations to the singer and the song.

  • Also, it seems that they have a youtube page under the username "ysaoulis".

Let's stop fighting and start supporting the guys.

  • The woman's name is Gorken Okten (with those umlauts that the turks put above "o") and the man's name is Yannis Saoulis (Γιάννης Σαούλης). And yes, they are married and they have two children. They live in Thessaloniki Greece at the moment.

  • i tought she was a turk,my mistake..looks and sounds like one..

  • COK GUZEL OLMUS SAGOL

  • Turkish and Greek culture is so mixed that it is realy hard to separate. I heard this song singed by great singer Melina Aslanidou and now from this women who is probebly greek too but can sing in Turkish language like it her mother tongue.

    Both versions are very gooooooood.

  • I know enough my friend to write what I did - all turkish ideologies see themselves as the righteous & the superior due to hang-up of empire. So don't attempt to patronize me by telling me what I should or shouldn't think, OK! So next time, YOU be careful in what you write.

  • Sanatçı bayan Türk mü acaba?çok güzel söylüyor.Bravo.

  • it touches the heart in pain

  • I think its amazing that a program such as this which sings Turkish folk songs in Turkish and Greek is amazing! Greatest respects to Greece.

  • want to know something more amazing?? The woman singing is Turkish and the man next to her is Greek and they are married.

  • So? My fiance is Greek, What's the big deal?

You call yourself 'Aegean King'. Kings generally have a lot of money, go out and get yourself some good education you narrow minded animal.

  • Btw, speaking of education, Turkey has the LOWEST literacy rate in the region. According to UNICEF your national literacy rate is 89% which is even lower than Zimbabwe. Maybe you should be worrying about the education of your own people instead of worrying about my education.

  • @AegeanKing I don't need to worry about the education of other people in Turkey ,I'm educated and so are my family. As for uneducated people in Turkey they are Kurds.

I would also like to apologize about arguing about the marriage issue, I thought you were trying to be offensive. You can't blame me, there are loads of videos mocking Turkish women married to Greek en made by Greeks. Your right it is amazing.

Oh and by the way, I'm not from a village I'm from the fourth biggest city in Turkey.

  • She is amazing.

  • lol at people who talk politics in a song's page

  • @boyFromBlackSea

Just because Serbs butchered innocent Bosnians and Greeks supported them..... doesn`t mean that Turks don`t know how to be butchers too. Get off your high horse and stop using the slaughter of innocent Bosnians in self-defense and as an excuse for abusing your own minorities. Funny, how everyone thinks that only their neighbour`s shit stinks.

this music is a all the story of evolution in aigian see

  • maşallah

  • Great song. Lyrics in Turkish are so powerful and wil make you cry. I hope it is the same in Greek. Two nations sharing the same songs can not be enemies.

  • for the 2 comments below there is a beatifull song playing and you are still bringing up the past the point of the song is two show for two nations that we can get on peacefully what happend in the past is in the past now and we should learn from it try not to do it again not to carry it on to the host for this song thank you

  • cyprus will be Turk forever and dont blame Rauf Denktas.u greeks killed our innocent people and raped girls that is why we came there.they are not unprotected...we wanna say we are neighbour but u still text enemy things against Turkey just try to be peacefully

  • 1 Cyprus is a wealthy, Independent EU Member state..

2.Northern Cyprus is a fake, de-facto(non existant) nation not recognized by any state or country except Mongolistan i mean Turkey...

  • I'm in a peaceful mood at the moment and can really embarrass you. So just stop.

If I remember correctly 300 was the ultra unrealistic film which was truly childish, don't base your nations pride on that film.

  • Ultra unrealistic? That makes no sense... The film has its "Hollywood-ness" implemented in it....however it is a true story. The next film should be on the Destruction of Christians in Anatolia by Kemal the Butcher...im sure it would be nominated for an Academy Award...

  • @akrivosdiavolos73 It clearly does make sense, ultra unrealistic. It means very unrealistic. So clearly understood what I meant.

How on God's earth is it a true story, stop being ridiculous and childish.

How could they make a film of something which never happened?

Mustafa Kemal opened churches and ruled that there would not be a state religion making an equal and peaceful country.

Maybe they should make a film about EOKA and the murder of a mother and her children in a bath?

  • @UKOnur FUCK OFF you turkSHIT cunt from this video go fuck yourself you kemalist ultranationalist piece of shit & go hate somewhere else; your murderous nation are the last to go around accusing others of wrong doing

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn Whats wrong with being Kemalist? I am Kemalist too.. You need to avoid Neo-Ottoman bastards not Kemalists...

  • @VlkClk Kemalists have an ideology & agenda born of the Ottoman superiority complex. This manifests itself as a hate for other nations, especially Greeks who they regard as inferior to them, a hostility & mistrust towards Greeks, to antagonize us & patronize us, to threaten us, to make allegations about us, to mock us, to jeer at us, to place flags & statues with quotations facing us...do I need to go on?

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn You completely mistaken us. I am Kemalist but I dont really hate Greek people and my friends feel the same way I feel. Those sentences you have made above completely define the Neo-Ottoman dudes in Turkey. We are nationalist as much as you are. I dont hate you dude. Beside, You are my brother.

  • @VlkClk Unfortunately I do not accept your statement as I speak from direct first hand experience of Turkish nationalistic jingoism. Turks have a superiority complex & a hate & jealousy of Greeks whether they lean towards Islamist ideology, Kemalist ideology or a mix of both.

  • VlkClk @KolokotronisLivesOn The main problem here that you are keen to generalize people. Each negative sentences you have made begin with Turks. You should call them some of racist Turks or some of fundamentals. Kemalism stands for 6 ideologies.

  • @VlkClk Don't patronize me, you underestimate my knowledge

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn ...Republicsm, Nationalism, Secularism, Revolutionism, Populism and Statism. So which European country IS NOT entitled with these ideologies above? Kemalists and Islamists cant be called together. They dont like each other. Obviously, you have unefficient knowledge about Kemalists.

  • @VlkClk Point No.1: Turkey is absolutely NOT European country, geographically 3% or some such tiny percentage meaning approx.97% Asian. Point No. 2: in shared values, Turkey is Eastern/Asian/Oriental NOT European.

  • @VlkClk Point No.3: Culturally as in Point 2 Turkey is NOT European. Only since 1923 did she adopt Western/European ideas into mainstream of society but this was (& remains?) with force, against several centuries of Eastern/Islamic ideas & systems. To this day, not all of Turkish society is in tune with European values.

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn Here we go... Yeah mate.. You can carry on being racist.

  • @VlkClk Being critical of Turkey doesn't mean I'm racist. Not the same thing at all. Tell me where I've been racist! Come on, enlighten me!

  • @VlkClk So don't tell me your country is European. Less than 100 years of Turkish Republic doesn't change many 100s of years of Oriental/Islamic ideologies & values. This is the great schism of your nation-East or West?? 87 years on & you still are arguing amongst yourselves...

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn Do you know "anything" about kemalism?

  • @egeolgac2 Do you?

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn Yeah... I know better than you it seems...

  • @egeolgac2 Oh really! Oh My God!! I know nothing about Kemalism, I feel so unfulfilled :(

  • @KolokotronisLivesOn Next time, try learning before juging

  • You can embarrass me? I highly doubt it. I wasn't being narrow minded you illiterate peasant. I was simply saying that it is an amazing display of mixture of cultures that a Greek and Turk got married. Also, who the fuck said anything about the 300?? If you have problems with that movie than address your complaints to the AMERICANS who made the movie, not Greeks. Go back to your village.

  • 1 german +englend kiss turk ass now usa

  • wunderschön

  • sesi cok guzel nasil unlu olmamis bu bayan hayret

  • hey guys believe it or not, the man playing the bouzouki and the woman singing are married....thats right, Greek and Turk married. pretty amazing....

  • Beautiful performance..! What is the name of the woman singing???

  • My grandmother's song, greeetings from kosovo

  • The music and the song is very beautiful!

Regards from Athens! Η μουσική και το τραγούδι είναι πολύ όμορφα! Μüzik ve şarkı çok güzel! Do not writes something about politics and politicians, writes about the music!

  • This is beautiful! Thank you so much for posting it. My heart lives in Turkey AND Greece!

  • @masbrow turks end greece end iran end armanian way not big rassa are brother in oll area

  • Is this Rebetika or Tatavla Havalari or another special type of Greco-Turkish music?

    Sahane müzik.

    Efharisto para poli.

  • please stop writing about war, politics etc. Enjoy this beautiful music and people.

  • actually - i disagree. i see the military as a force that provides a counter balance to the popularism of the government. we need the military. the unfortunate truth is that both nations seem to overlook their similarities and focus on differences. the current government is anything but puppet - they are in disagreement with the military in every issue. If there was a war in Aegean it would be over in 24 hours. Turkey is not an aggressor - neither is its military.

  • I dont think there would be a war in the Agean, esp now...since Turkey is begging to become an EU memberstate, and with the current de-Stabalization still in Iraq...no way...we know how bad Turkey wants Agean Islands...keep salivating

    Secondly

you say that "Turkey is not an aggressor"...is the equivalent to saying ..the Devil is not Evil...also I still dont know why Raouf Denktash is not at the Hague for the 1974 iLegal, unlawfull invasion of Cyprus and killing of 2000 Greek Cypriots?

  • Whats the connection with this song of all those? :)

  • this song shows everything that's great about the two cultures and what they share......some of the comments below show some of the completely fucked up mentality on both sides of the aegean....

btw - i am turkish - and this woman's voice is incredible!!!!

  • You are right about the commnts.

The problem is the military dictatorship hidding behind your poppet civilian goverment (that needs enemies to stay in power)

We have a hot war over the Aegean (you may not be aware), with F-16 jets invading into the Aegean airspace everyday. You need to short this out., the Cyprus and other issues.

  • Kizin sesi cok guzel !!!!

  • who gan give me english translation please ?

  • Serefsiz yunanlılar...

  • A hundred years of friendship and peace during this song together in a toast to the live and the people who used to get drunk together. I read a very nice song Congratulations.

  • Hi! Beautifull song. Can someone place a turkish lirics.

    Thanks.

  • did i say not yours? if you see my comment you can see i tell "one more traditional TURKISH song....." so nobody try to take from you. so LET FUCKINGS i uploaded here because i like it. AM I CLEAR??????????
