Not to sound stupid, but why it has 3 rails?

the middle rail is for power pickup...under the trucks ther is a roller that goes along that rail and picks up power for the loco and any lighted rolling stock.

very nice!! Do u know how to correct crooked ditch lights on an MTH engine. The lights are glued into place, but one light is faced a little to the right....if you don't, it's no big deal.

Rob I have a question my lionel chessie gp40 sometimes spark at the wheels when i run it at low speeds this also effects the track power do any of your engines do this?
