@theappleexpress Thank you for stopping by! I am blessed to be living in Bolivia these days. All the produce and fruit you saw cost me less than $35. I show at the farmers market and have a lot to choose from. I do not crap money but maybe some day! Take care!
Ha ha! He'll live. I plan on watching the pantry/spice video(s) if you edit those, too. So, he has to get over it. His name is Vinni, and mine is Nicole. Not that you asked, but it levels the playing field as I know your name is Mary Ann. (It's okay if you forget...you have a lot of subscribers/comments. ;-)
@nmilligan77 I never forget my friends names Nicole! Never! And my godson's name in Vincent and we call him Vinni so that is engraved! Thank you again!
I liked seeing the different bottles & bags in which things are packaged. (My 4 yr. old didn't enjoy the video. LOL He likes it when you're cooking.) As I watched, I found myself interested in how you prevent food spoilage. My husband, son, & I eat like birds, and I don't know how to freeze/reheat meals so they still taste good. Also, I am interested in how to keep produce. I'll look on your website to see if you have anything about that, but if not, could you put up something someday please?
@nmilligan77 OK, I will make sure I cover that this year. Thanks for the suggestion. Please apologize to your son(what is his name?) for me! I promise there will be cooking tomorrow! Thank you so much for all your support!
I was wondering why there was no snow in the background lol! Oh well there isn't much snow here in Michigan today either, we are having a bit of a warm spell before the snow finds us again. By the way where is Vanuatu?
@vortexchillin75 My mother-in-law lives in NH and they are not having a very snowy winter either! It will really affect ski season. Vanuatu is in the South Pacific - between Australia and Fiji. Very beautiful. Thanks for stopping by!
I love this video! You have such healthy stuff - lots of fruits and cheeses! And I love the spicy stuff too! Looking forward to the vid about the passion fruit! I hope you are still having a great time in Vanuatu (I just read the other comment that you are still there.) :)
I'd enjoyed this tour, and all the descriptions..especially the one of the beers, passion fruit and the bottled peppers! hahaha.. It was funny! Thank you Mary Ann! :)
So glad to hear you are still in Vanuatu!! I know you are in heaven there with hubby and all that beautiful scenery!! it will be hard for you to leave I'm sure!
I thought you were still in the islands with yr hubby and I kept thinking "wow she sure accumulated a lot of food in the short time she's been there" it was at the end when I saw your patio that I realized you were back at home. Personally I would love to see your pantry contents, but not if it will be in lieu of a cooking vid
@jcrefasi1 I am in Vanuatu. This was made before I came here. I just did not have time to edit and post it. I have a lot of food videos that I brought with me and will be posting. I will be back in Bolivia on the 23rd of January. Thanks you so much for stopping by!
Hi Mary Ann! This was super enjoyable to say the least! My wife & I were trying to figure out "what are we gonna do for this weeks video"? Now we know! heh heh. We'll get it recorded sometime this weekend.
Thanks for thinking of ol' SmokeyGoodness! Can't wait to see Rick's video!
Fascinating! For myself, I like cold platters of "this 'n' that" to eat. I'd have a ball with your food stash! The variety of "à la Russe" cold platters pleases my palate and keeps me eating pretty light. If I had a servant I'd ask for most meals for me this way. France also is big on fruit at home. Everyone has a fruit bowl and they stay slim by SHARING the fruit, which is convivial! (Or eating only half and saving the rest if alone.) Fun! I love tags with are a bit snoopy in nature!
@CuteCatFaith Hey Lisa! Yes, fruit has always been a big part of our diet. It is probably European influence. We love it and eat it a lot. Right now, in Vanuatu, we are enjoying tons of mangoes and pineapples. They are like candy. Delicious! Hope all is well!
@misaki52008 Yes, I like clips from around the world. I cannot get most of what they can but it gives me ideas of what to look for. I love when I get a client who wants a bunch of spices from my Arab nabe outside Paris, France. I pack them with both French and "exotic" spices and one smart client presells the stuff in cute little jars and has all her gifts ready for the year. She puts together cute spice racks for lucky recipients! Good gift, huh?
Hi Mary Ann! Thanks for the interesting tour of your fridge & freezer! You eat very healthy & I would love to see what's hidden away in your pantry! Take care. -Charmaine xo
@Pippilly The upper parts and leaves taste more bitter but are a great ingredient for soups and stuffings. If I have too much I blanche it, chop it and freeze it for later use. Celery is very, very costly in France!
@Pippilly I am so happy you made the chicken again! Thanks for watching. I will try passion fruit in yogurt. That sounds delish! I use my celery leaves as a herb for stews and in making stocks. They are loaded in flavor.
You probably already do this...but a friend tells us that he often buys cheaper/tougher cuts of beef when he sees them on sale. Squeezes papaya juice over them and then freezes them for a couple of weeks. He says they are tender and delicious when he thaws them. I haven't tried it yet. Take care, Tess xo
@tjbollman1 We use papaya to tenderize meat a lot. But what we do is cover the meat with the papaya peels - fruit side down. We then let it tenderize for a day. It works beautifully! Hope you are doing wonderful Tess!
We share a lot of the same tastes. In a perfect world my fridge would have some of every flavor of cheese and I have just about every one of the same bottles or jars of Asian products.
Mary Ann, my friend, just a little tip. If you did not have so much fruit you would have room for more cerveza fria. LOL, just kidding. Your fridge looks much more organized than mine.
Thank you so much for your tips, they always help us and teach us. Thank you again.
