I really dig this game!!! Especially on my 73 In HD tv and when i put it in to cockpit mode and surround sound (5.1) it gets pretty interesting!!!

I think it is pretty real as it gets for a game for the most part, i mean when you are flying the Russian MIG it says everything in Russian, i also have ace combat 6, but i just prefer to play Over G fighters!!!

Really liked the Over-g fighter Game as it was based on real weapons load outs and performance. Scenarios were also challenging. Problem was (as you can see here) that flight and performance modelling wasn't the best and the graphics were well below the standards created in Ace Combat 5 and 6. Also, there was VERY poor instruction and aircraft data guide. I really wish Taito would take another shot at this kind of reality based air combat game with the mistakes corrected.

So... you get identical lift while upside down as when you are at normal level flight? That roll would have tilted the nose into the ground when you flipped over, as the lift in the wings, which pushes 'up' in relation to the aircraft, is now 'down' in relation to the Earth. Crash and burn.

That's not a barrel roll. If we count the maneuver as starting at 0:04 then it's a half cuban eight where you pull over the top and roll into normal flight. If the maneuver starts at 0:17 instead of 0:04 then it's just a normal aileron roll. A barrel roll is basically doing a really big roll around an invisible barrel in the sky

That Over-G, isn't it? How does it treat the 29? That Poor bird gets a bad rep thanks to Ace Combat, haha. They always have it as some low tier flyer, which it really isn't.

@AmericanAviator it's not this bad really, as it is in games... poor load only, even worse than f-16s... in real life (i have some real pilots flying it) it will easily outperform f-16 in maneuvarable combat.. but will loose to su-27 or even f-15 or to multiple planes .. i used it online sometimes really in over G anyway

That is an Aleron or Bonton roll, thats not a barrel roll. How do I know? I have performed barrel rolls in real life.

as i described earlier (god it's so hard to read before write actually) - in russian airforce the aileron roll called "bochka" or barrel ... real english figure called barrel roll is called in VVS kinda.. will try to translate close... barrel with sliding... kinda that...

Way to do an Aleron roll. Amazing how many people don't know what a barrel roll actually is. An actual barrel roll is where you roll while flying in a spiral, tracing out a large cylinder shape in the air likened to the inside of a barrel.

That's a language/specific airforce slang difference... in russian aitforce that aileron roll is called "bochka" or BARREL ... can't remember how real barrel roll is called in russian....

Ohhh, I didn't even think of language variation. Still it is a very good "roll", almost as if the airplane was flying along a wire.

What I meant with the first comment was that many people didn't know the difference between the types of rolls.

first - change the joystick from arcade to real.... if You didn't so'

With real settings just move the stick to the right or left and you're done ;)

I changed some settings as well with stick calibrating - it's too sencitive for my taste....

and don't forget to help with rudder to make cleaner barrel roll as well.

Real pilot was refused with inertia in over G roll at all... he said btw , that real MiG-29 stop rolling right after You left the stick in neutral, so developers made a huge mistake with that, meaning near zero ability to make really clean barrel at all...
