@samljer That prop is under sized. For example if I had a 50 HP engine at 3600 RPM and you had a 5 HP engine at 3600 RPM and the same prop then both will go the same speed. The prop needs to be sized for the low RPMs for the higher HP engine to show its true colors.
Yes it needs a steeper prop, the imbalance is now gone, and the motor is very silent now, a steeper prop also means less rpm and also less noise, The ratio is now 1:1 at the video it was 3:1
I would buy it...:) how can I contact you? what kind of batteries u use ? and for how long does it go with full throttle? I have an Eolo 590 Open and I would buy it for that boat... it would be kind of enough to go with a 18-20 Kw/h which would be awesome
That's not comparable to a 40hp petrol. Not even close. And saying a motor can do 30kw for 15 seconds doesn't in my mind justify calling it a 30kw motor. In fact its datasheet shows 16kw cont. load, and 30kw for 5 seconds.
Impressive and interesting - but don't overstate the true figures, it takes away all your credibility. IMO it also sounds under-propped.
Where was this video made? U.S.? U.K.? Ultimately want to know where you purchased the motor. I don't mind spending the money for a super clean, quiet, near zero maintenance outboard. I was going to go with an Advanced DC A00-4009 but after seeing this and looking at other Agni 95 conversions, if I could get my hands on one of these motors I might be willing to spend the extra dough. Please help!
@divinelyowned, Video is in the Netherlands, via agnimotors I bought the Agni 95 - R motor and I bought a controller from Kellycontroller 600A peak power. Maybe I will sell my motor and controller, interessted ?
@Bazakilouis I might be. Prices on the ADC motors are going up significantly March 1, so I need to make a decision soon. Why would you sell it? Not happy with the rig? Performance looks impressive for an electric boat. Range not good?
@theapothem1 Not really. Ever heard of a 400 HZ motor? Higher frequency design reduces weight. Also most likely the 40 HP figure is peak rating before the motor burns up. The prop is not taking advantage of it though.
NICE ONE!

Electric motors rated in HP do not exist; they rate in LB/Thrust
and by the way, your speed is NOT even close to 40 hp speeds
i have a 40hp that goes twice that speed.
i would say your sitting on 25hp.
and if it WAS 40, get a tune up fool.

sorry nowhere near a 40hp electric motor, those weigh about 100 pounds. you maybe have a 14-15hp motor. more like a 8-10.

@theapothem1
Sorry you are wrong, The Agni 95 is able to deliver 30 KW for 5 sec and weights 15 kg.

This is briliant!!!
Where did u buy this? and for how much?
Elderwand7 1 year ago
@Elderwand7
I build it with a friend, Agni 95 motor in a common outboard motor.
Total cost, way too much, about 2000 euro
